After breaking through to the 8th stage of the Foundation Building Realm, Yang Song felt that his power had advanced by leaps and bounds.
Now, his Dantian became bigger than before and his True Energy capacity was also much more than before.
Just as Yang Song was about to get up, his phone rang. Looking at the screen, it was actually Li Wanjing.
"How is the progress?" Without any nonsense, Yang Song went to the main point right away.
Li Wanjing answered solemnly, "The task is completed, Master."
Yang Song nodded and said lightly, "Wait for me, I will go to your place soon."
After hanging up the phone, Yang Song looked at his three pets and let them go back home by themselves.
After that, he simply rode his sword to Martial City.
…
Martial City, Li Family mansion, the secret room.
Yang Song was currently looking at a list of various families in Martial City. Those families were all top families and had big businesses across the entire C Country.
This list made by Li Wanjing was based on the number of martial artists, connections, resources, and influence of each family.
Among all the families, the most eye-catching ones were undoubtedly the top 10 families.
The strongest family in Martial City was the Bai Family. Its patriarch was Bai Jinlong, a 7th Tier Master. The most special thing about this family was that it had many connections with the government, but the main power simply lied on Bai Jinlong himself as he had quite a high position in the government.
This Bai Family did not have the most martial artists, but they had the greatest influence and power.
Yang Song did not want to offend the government, at least for the time being. But when he became stronger in the future, he would consider conquering this Bai Family.
The second strongest was the Ling Family. This Ling Family had several giant companies across the country and its financial strength was simply terrifying. This Ling Family could be said to be a giant in the business world.
With a stomp, the Ling Family could shake the entire Martial City and several other cities around easily.
The patriarch of this family was actually a woman called Ling Ying and she was also a 7th Tier Master martial artist.
Yang Song nodded when he saw this. This Ling Family did not have any big connection with the government, so it was easy to subdue it.

The third strongest family was the Zhuge Family. This family was an ancient family of martial artists where all of its members were martial artists. The master of the Zhuge Family was Zhuge Wutie, also a 7th Tier Master martial artist.
However, in terms of resources and connections, the Zhuge Family was far behind the Ling Family.
The reason was simple; most members of the Zhuge Family were only great in strength but not so great in the way of business. Therefore, without connections, it was simply weaker than the Ling Family.
Looking down, the other seven families were Feng Family, Wang Family, Tian Family, Tang Family, Qing Family, Cang Family, and Ao Family. These seven families were simply giants in different industries.
Each family had a different number of martial artists and different power. But there was one thing in common – that was, these ten families did not have any mystic being like mage or ability user at all. They only had martial artists, which was also the reason why Yang Song did not have much worries.
With his current strength and means, Yang Song was confident in dealing with anyone, even some Grandmaster martial artists were not Yang Song's opponents.
As for the other families that were not in the top ten rankings, Yang Song also looked at the information.
Soon, when he finished looking through the list, Yang Song took a deep breath and said to Li Wanjing who was standing behind him silently.
"You did a good job with this."
Then, with a flip of his hand, a jade box appeared magically and floated towards Li Wanjing.
Li Wanjing was stunned and did not know what to do.
"Take it," Yang Song said simply.
Li Wanjing came back to his senses and took the jade box that was floating in front of him with great joy and trembling hands carefully as if it was the greatest treasure.
"There are six talismans inside the box. You will know how to use them after you read the instruction inside. I also wrote the description of each talisman and put it inside the box."
"Yes, Master," Li Wanjing nodded and could not conceal his excitement.
Yang Song did not care about that and continued, "Next, I will start from the Ling Family first."
…
The Ling Family was indeed the Ling Family, just its courtyard alone could accommodate thousands of people, so one could imagine how rich this family was.

Around the Ling Family's territory, there were many martial artists who acted as guards and guarded around vigilantly. If there was any situation, they would be able to know it and deal with it right away.
Just this lineup alone could make any ordinary person nervous to the extreme when entering this place.
As the second strongest family in Martial City and one of the wealthiest families in C Country, the Ling Family was undoubtedly very afraid of destruction, so it was natural that it had so many guards.
At this moment, it was evening and the main mansion was lit up with beautiful and gentle light.
The atmosphere here was quiet and peaceful, and the breeze was also refreshing.
But before, this silent atmosphere was broken by a loud thunderous sound that resounded without warning from up high in the sky.
Rumble!
A mass of cloud gathered above the mansion strangely and arcs of thunders could be seen swimming inside that mass of cloud.
Boom!
Just before everyone could react, a bolt of blue thunder shot out from the mass of cloud and hit the area in front of the mansion.
The big elegant statue of a mermaid was completely destroyed into pieces.
Ling Ying, the female patriarch of the Ling Family, noticed this strange phenomenon and came out quickly to see what was really happening.
Several people walked behind her.
When she came, the guards came to her right away.
"What happened?" Ling Ying asked calmly.
"Patriarch, a big thunderbolt just appeared and destroyed the mermaid statue!" A guard leader answered.
"Thunderbolt?" Ling Ying then gazed at the mass of gloomy clouds that was hovering above. Seeing this mass of cloud, Ling Ying had an unusual premonition.
But no matter how she looked at it, this should be just a natural phenomenon, and it was impossible for humans to have such an ability so great to the point of being able to command the cloud and thunder.
"Well, clean the area and get a new statue tomorrow," after leaving these words, Ling Ying turned around and entered the mansion.
However, before she could take the second step, several other rumbling sounds appeared one after another.
Boom, boom, boom…
Then, a few blue thunderbolts descended from the sky and actually hit some people around Ling Ying, injuring them seriously.
Ling Ying hurriedly kicked the ground and leaped back into the mansion.
After landing safely, she looked outside and wondered, "What in the world is happening?"
Hearing the noisy sounds, many guards couldn't help coming over. When they saw the people on the ground, they were stunned at first, but when they saw that their patriarch was safe and sound, they breathed a sigh of relief and went over quickly.
"Patriarch, what just happened? Who injured the Rong Xiang?" A muscular man came over.
"The thunderbolt."
"Thunderbolt?" The man asked strangely. Then, when he saw the mass of gloomy cloud above the sky, he understood.
Ling Ying was still quite shocked from the attack of the thunderbolts from earlier.
But just as she and the people around were still in a state of shock, another shocking scene appeared.
Boom!
Several blue thunderbolts shot out again, but this time, those thunderbolts did not disappear right away, they stayed on the ground and made loud rumbling sounds constantly.
But the most shocking thing about this was that in these thunderbolts, there were actually two humanoid figures that were floating on their swords high above the ground.
The two figures then slowly descended and came out of the thunderbolts majestically.
The two of them did not come walking but still floating on their swords. The person in the front had a bamboo hat, a strange white mask, white hair, and a white ancient outfit on. But from his appearance, he seemed to be an old man.
The other person also had a similar style of clothing, however, he seemed to be the underling of the person in the lead.
When the two came over, Ling Ying and other people couldn't help falling to the ground. The aura emanating from them was too oppressive, especially the person in the lead.
As a 7th Tier Master, Ling Ying could be said to be quite a strong powerhouse. However, in front of this person, she had a feeling that her life and death were in the other's hands. This kind of feeling, she had experienced it for the first time in her life after 60 years of life.

People. Harmony. Dysfunction
[Hiatus]People are extraordinary. They are glorious, chaotic, imaginative, grim, all kinds of smart and driven. They are capable of living in harmony or incredible destruction. They can be both caring and loyal but vicious and self-centred. However, Olivia wished that the first year of her PhD didn't have to showcase quite so much of the melting pot. People. Harmony. Dysfunction. is a story that follows a research group through the drama and challenges life throws at them. It has an (unspecified) modern setting and focuses on the characters. I've tried to rate this pre-emptively, but unfortunately it might change as the story evolves.

These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
