《Supreme Grandpa 》Chapter 11: Buried Literary Talent

"The matter about Grandmaster?" Yang Haodong felt a little peculiar.
However, as long as his old man had a good mentality, did not care about Yang Haoxi who was missing in the abyss, and could maintain his current state of mind, it was not a bad thing.
Yang Song nodded gently, "Yes, is there any news? Recently, has anyone in our country or abroad become a new Grandmaster?"
"No!" Yang Haodong replied very affirmatively. "Father, this kind of thing cannot be kept a secret. If someone is promoted, the whole world will know it, and all mankind will celebrate together."
"Then, is it possible for anyone to advance secretly?" Yang Song thought for a while and asked.
Yang Haodong was very surprised. Why did his old man keep entangled with whether a new Grandmaster martial artist would appear or not?
But he still replied seriously, "This possibility is not very big. It is said that there is mutual induction between Grandmasters. If someone on earth has really become a Grandmaster, other Grandmasters will also find out."
"But what if a person becomes a Grandmaster in the abyss?" Yang Song rubbed his hand and asked.
"Huh?" Yang Haodong was stunned at once. "It's not possible, is it? When a person is promoted to Grandmaster Realm, there will be a lot of movements, and at the same time, the person in question must be absolutely safe and not be disturbed. The abyss is so dangerous and there are strange monsters everywhere. Once there is a movement, those strange monsters will rush over. Isn't that looking for death?"
"Okay! That's all right."
Yang Song probably already had an answer in his heart.
Early this morning, he did a serious investigation. Among all the people he had cultivated, everyone else had news. Only Yang Haoxi had disappeared. If the system did not tell him bullshit and it activated not because it wanted to give a taste in the final moment after a hundred years, then Yang Haoxi was very likely the one to become a Grandmaster.
"You do not have to worry about Haoxi. As a martial artist, going down the abyss is where his duty lies. If something happens, then we can only blame his bad fate. It's like you said, can't get in touch with him doesn't mean that something really happened. Maybe that kid found some kind of treasure in the abyss and then he secretly hid it for exclusive use! Anyway, we should only think on the bright side. Your Third Brother is a very lucky man."

Yang Song added.
"Um, father, you are right. Third Brother is a lucky man."
Yang Haodong did not know what to say. Before he came, he still wondered how to comfort his old man. But now, how come he felt like the one being comforted instead? After staying confused for a while, his attention could not help being placed on the Golden-Eyed Mouse on Yang Song's shoulder.
"Father, did you get this mouse from the robber? I don't know what species it is. If it is raised, it may be very troublesome. How about I buy you a cage to put it in?"
As the battle between the abyss and humans broke out, all kinds of weird and strange monsters began to emerge like the explosion of bombs. Even the animals on this planet had partially mutated. Many seemingly docile animals actually became very dangerous.
And when the Golden-Eyed Mouse heard Yang Haodong's words, it drilled into Yang Song's bosom, rubbed Yang Song's here and there with its head.
Where was it like a mouse now? It was clearly a cat!
"Haha!"
Yang Song chuckled when he was rubbed by the little guy. He was already old; it would be nice to have a strange animal with him in the future. Yang Song then glanced at Yang Haodong, "Forget the cage. This mouse has a fate with this old man. I will keep it as a pet in the future. You've seen it too, it's not dangerous."
"Well, as long as it does not hurt people, everything's fine. But Tong City Animal Pet Hospital has released some vaccines recently. Father, if you really want to raise it, you'd better give it two injections," Yang Haodong said.
Yang Song nodded instantly, "Sure, there is no problem."
"Squeak!"
Hearing the word 'injection', the little thing nestled in Yang Song's arms seemed to understand what it meant. Its body became stiff, the golden hair on its body stood up straight, it also waved its mini claws while constantly shouting in mouse language in protest.
However, neither Yang Song nor Yang Haodong paid any attention to it.
After chatting, Yang Song opened his Eyes of Insight to observe Yang Haodong's talent.
When he was in the lobby yesterday, Yang Haodong left early so he could not inspect him.

His eldest son, in terms of cultivation, could only be graded as mediocre compared to a real genius.
However, he had a talent that was particularly conspicuous. That was, his literary talent had reached 73 in value, which was several times higher than his own.
"What kind of military governor this guy is? It's a waste of talent not to 'code' words! And I actually did not realize that he has this talent before? Speaking of which, I am also a copywriter at any rate. As long as I give him a little creativity, would it not be easy to spread all over the country and make a lot of money?"
Thinking of this, Yang Song pretended to be calm and said, "Haodong, I think your training speed has not been very good recently, and your strength has also been increasing more and more slowly. Have you encountered a bottleneck?"
Yang Haodong sighed, "Father, in the martial arts, the stronger you are, the more difficult it is to advance. Many people are stuck at the 1st Tier for a lifetime; they will not be able to pass it even until death. Therefore, I think I am not that bad."
"Well, besides practicing martial arts and managing the warriors in Tong City, what other interests do you usually have?" Yang Song deliberately guided the fish to the bait.
Yang Haodong tentatively answered, "Eating."
"What else?"
"Go to bed."
"What else?" Yang Song was a little speechless. His eldest son, besides eating, liked sleeping? Was this guy a pig or something?
"Well, father… I like to watch beautiful women's live broadcasts on the internet on weekdays," Yang Haodong said with some embarrassment. During this time, the live broadcasts society were very hot. The ladies there spoke very nicely, danced very beautifully, and looked very enchanting. They also had all kinds of teasing skills. Overall, they were very skillful, and he also felt that he was about to fall…
Yang Song somehow wanted to slap his son's head, "Don't you do something serious on weekdays? For example, reading a book?"
"Ah?" Yang Haodong felt silly, but he still answered, "I read books, but I only them occasionally."
With such a high literary talent, he unexpectedly rarely read books. Wasn't this a waste? Yang Song did not know what to say for a while.
"I recently had a new novel idea here. I am too old and can't write it. I don't feel safe letting other people write it for me either. You also know how many copyrights Yellow Dog Shit and those damn guys pitted back then, right? So, I am going to let you write it," Yang Song stuck the task into Yang Haodong's mouth directly and seriously.
"Father, are you kidding me?" Yang Haodong immediately widened his eyes in disbelief.
His old man had written books before, but he was too weak at that time. He wrote a lot of martial arts novels, but the copyrights were forcibly bought by some martial artists, and he did not even have the right to sign his name on them.
Later, when the old man got angry, he closed himself up, claiming that he had already exhausted his idea, and he never wrote novels again.
Those books back then were very popular, such as the classics "Little Qi Flying Knife" and "Legend of the Eagle Heroes".
These two sparked an upsurge in the world of martial arts, and many martial artists, after reading the novels, even created their old techniques.
"The Return of the Eagle Heroes" was also very popular. Many martial artists jumped down the cliff, wanting to find a reclusive young lady and the techniques left by the ancient masters like that of the plot in the novel.
But fair enough, nothing was really found.
Back to the topic. What did his old man mean by letting him write novels?
Yang Haodong was really stunned this time. Because the copyrights of the novel his father wrote were robbed, he hardly read it, let alone wrote it.
Yang Haodong always felt that something was anomalous, but he dared not speak.
Yang Song did not give Yang Haodong a chance to continue thinking either. He quickly talked about his own creativity.

As a penniless orphan with no friends to speak of, life was tough for him in his little Arizona town in the '90s. He'd utterly lost hope for the future until one day, he was reincarnated as Alvanue, beloved daughter and heir to the Starlit Throne of Silthonduen. But what good is a kingdom when there's a whole world of magic and mystery out there to explore? *** Ok! Disclaimer time. I do edit my own work and I do not have a beta reader, so please feel free to point out any errors or plot holes (politely, of course). Each chapter will be around 4,000 to 6,000 words long and while I was posting every day at the beginning, I think I'll cut that down to once a week for now, excluding bonus chapters! I really don't want to get burned out. I started writing this because I love world building, so this is gonna be heavy on lore. If you're not into that, there's still a ton of character progression and action to look forward to! It's going to be slow at the beginning, but I promise it will pick up eventually. Thanks for checking my story out, I appreciate it a lot!

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.

To Blunt The Sharpest Claw
The Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels are a series of New Fable genre novels that involve cats and dogs and high adventure and romance and espionage and food-fights and hotels and explosions and car chases. With large casts, exotic locations and an absurdity only possible in the absence of human characters, the Velvet Paw of Asquith Novels blend Wind in the Willows with James Bond, though with more cafes and fewer badgers. This submission is the third title in its Morigan Trilogy, beginning two-thirds of the way through the series' longest adventure yet. Here's a quick recount of what's happened so far: When Oscar Teabag-Dooven, a Velvet Paw of Asquith, is ordered to investigate how a mysterious poet, the Ar'dath-Irr, is able to travel instantaneously around the world, two very bad things happen. Firstly, he meets Lydia, an insane librarian who punches everyone in the face, and secondly, the Ar'dath-Irr reveals he is intent on taking over the world. Although this second thing might be considered worse than the first, Oscar feels differently following Lydia’s destruction of a cafe, a library and his face in one afternoon. In comparison, thwarting world domination just seems easier. Along with Binklemitre, a fellow Velvet Paw of Asquith, and Lydia, Oscar infiltrates the Ar’dath-Irr’s realm of dark poetry to discover the dog not only intends wrenching the world apart but has no intention of cleaning up afterwards. As a result, Oscar decides it’s all too hard and goes home to have a bath. After lots of arguing and the sort of food fight that posh restaurants were invented for, Lydia and Binklemitre convince him that they must stop the Ar’dath-Irr for several reasons, one of them quite serious. A vibrant cast of characters collide as Oscar, Lydia and Binklemitre battle the Ar’dath-Irr and his disciples in an adventure involving exploding cafés and appalling hotels, car chases and inadvertent surgery, dreadful poetry, lots of arguments and at least one temper-tantrum, all of which draw the three into dark and convoluted corners of a world they weren’t aware existed. Moreover, any chance of sitting down and discussing things over some buns disappears when Lydia punches the Ar’dath-Irr in the face. This results in her having a psychotic episode and Oscar getting run over by an ambulance. Although Binklemitre suffers neither, he witnesses both, which is almost as dreadful, though not nearly so messy. An enormous battle ensues, followed by a dinner party and then everything explodes.
