《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1580. Dark Luke

What the h*ll was he doing? Meditating?
When he saw Luke’s actions, Wang Yu was a little distraught.
They were all cultured people. Furthermore, this was just a game. Did they really have to do this? Didn’t he have any common sense at that old age?
Just as Wang Yu hesitated, Luke’s skin turned dark. At the same time, the HP bar above Luke began recovering quickly.
“D*mn! How can he do something like that?!”
When Wang Yu saw the situation, he fell into shock. Extending his right arm, he unleashed [Savage Maul], interrupting Luke’s HP recovery.
However, even when the attack landed on Luke, Wang Yu received a system notice. “The target currently cannot be attacked.”
“???!!!”
Wang Yu remained frozen.
Wasn’t he too shameless? After all that effort he put in to get his HP to 10%, he was recovering his HP like it was no big deal. On top of that, they couldn’t stop his HP bar from recovering. What were they playing at?
Luke’s recovery speed increased faster and faster while his skin tone became increasingly dark. Finally, under Wang Yu’s surveillance, the saint-like Luke turned completely black as his aura took a gruesome turn.
“May the darkness remain with you!”
Luke smirked at Wang Yu as he revealed two rows of white teeth. Then, he reached backward with his hands.
“Crack!”
The sound of bone piercing skin ensued as a bone-like spear emerged from Luke’s body.
Extracting his own bone from his body was a ridiculous act. Luke was also a bull-headed person. Disregarding the pain, the visual effect of extracting his bone like a sword was horrifying.
Wang Yu’s guts were solid as stone. However, when he saw this scene, a tingling sensation ran down his spine.
“Dark Luke! It’s Dark Luke!”
Seeing Luke’s transformation, Zhao Xinpei and the others’ eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

Dark Luke was Luke’s final form. The game was designed such that this form would only be unlocked if Luke fell into despair.
Forcing a strong NPC like Luke to feel despair wasn’t something simple. The only way to unlock this form was to fight Luke solo and force Luke’s HP bar to fall to 10% without losing any HP.
Who was Luke? The God of Light!
Within >, he was one of the strongest beings, and one of the legendary God-grade BOSSES. There was barely any player that could match up to his power.
Not to mention solo kill, a Divine-tier BOSS like Luke wasn’t someone who could be defeated without a group of LV100 players. Nobody dared to challenge him so easily. Furthermore, he managed to whittle Luke’s HP down to 10% from his [Invulnerable] status. This was basically a miracle.
One could tell that unveiling the Dark Luke was extremely demanding. Even if they released the level cap of LV200, regular players might not be able to unlock Dark Luke.
Even the game designers didn’t think that anyone could unlock Dark Luke. That was because Dark Luke was simply an Easter egg they made as a joke.
Nobody would have guessed that this guy, that the designers themselves had forgotten, would be unlocked by a Pugilist that wasn’t even LV70.
“Oh my god, I can’t believe he triggered such an impossible condition and unlocked Dark Luke. Is there anything he can’t do? If we really remove the level cap, wouldn’t our players challenge the NPC gatekeepers?”
It was obvious that Ma Longteng knew about Dark Luke too. When he saw how Wang Yu unlocked Dark Luke, he was shell-shocked.
“LV200? There’s no need for that!” Zhao Xinpei responded in despair, “He already challenged them at LV40 or LV50.”
“What? He killed a gatekeeper?” Ma Longteng asked in surprise.
“No, he didn’t!”

Zhao Xinpei wiped his sweat as he continued, “After exchanging several blows, he realized he wasn’t a match for them and ran away.”
“What a scare…”
When he heard Zhao Xinpei’s words, Ma Longteng couldn’t help but let out a long sigh.
F*ck, if he could even kill the gatekeepers, there was no way this game could restrain him anymore.
Of course, Ma Longteng had overestimated Wang Yu’s abilities based on his mechanics display from before.
The reason Wang Yu could suppress Luke was because he was only LV80, and had no physical body. If Luke was at his strongest at LV200, his overpowered attributes would overwhelm Wang Yu, destroying him in several blows.
As for killing the gatekeepers, they were just overthinking.
…
As they watched Luke pull out a long spear, Wang Yu subconsciously shuffled backwards.
In his current state, Luke was different from his close-combat mode.
To deal with melee BOSSES, one had to understand their abilities. If one charged with full force without understanding Luke’s abilities, they would fail miserably.
“Human! You know nothing about the power of a God. Return to the abyss!”
While everyone was reeling from shock, Luke shouted as he swung his right arm aggressively. The long spear in his hands morphed into jet-black darkness as it lunged toward Wang Yu quickly.
Seeing this, Wang Yu jumped backwards at once.
“Boom!”
Just as Wang Yu dodged, the gigantic spear lodged itself deeply into the ground, where Wang Yu was standing. If Wang Yu didn’t avoid it, this spear would have created a large hole in Wang Yu.
“That speed!”
When they saw how terrifying Luke’s long spear was, their hearts quivered in shock.
After he transformed into Dark Luke, the BOSS’ attack speed increased significantly.
Even though it was swift before, Wang Yu could still handle that level of attacks. However, this was clearly beyond Wang Yu’s abilities. It was advantageous previously because Luke stood far away, giving Wang Yu time to hide. If that spear were any closer, Wang Yu wasn’t sure if he could have dodged it.
“Huh? What a resilient worm!”
Watching his spear miss its target, Luke was stunned for a moment. Then, he extended his right arm as black energy pulled the spear out from the ground. At the same time, he charged at Wang Yu.
Luke’s charge was several times stronger than a Warrior or Knight. Furthermore, deep crevices appeared on the ground. In the next instant, he stood before Wang Yu.
With a one-in-a-million chance, Wang Yu rolled backwards violently. He barely dodged Luke’s charge as Luke reached to the spear on the ground. Swinging it valiantly from his left to the right hand, the spear left his hands as it soared toward Wang Yu.
Wang Yu was about to get up when he saw the long spear coming straight at him. With a [Tumble], the long spear sliced past Wang Yu’s scalp.
At first, Wang Yu thought that he dodged the attack this time. However, Luke was persistent. Channelling his momentum, he turned one round as the spear swiped about in a 360-degree angle. Finally, he pierced toward Wang Yu’s chest.
Luke’s attack was phenomenally fast. There was no way Wang Yu could dodge this spear. Transforming his weapon into a shield, he blocked his chest as he gathered energy from the ground, leaping backwards.
“Dang!!!!”
With a loud sound, the spear lodged into the pedestal as Wang Yu was tossed back a distance of a few dozens of metres at once. With that, he cushioned the impact of his landing. As he landed, he shuffled seven to eight steps backwards before he finally regained his balance.
Even though Wang Yu’s HP bar didn’t fall, he was so shocked that he was drenched in sweat.
The power of this spear was terrifying!

The Lady's Handbook of Intrigue and Murder (High Fantasy Politics)
Summary:The daughter of a dying house is summoned to the Imperial City to meet and perhaps marry a handsome prince. It sounds like a fairy tale. Except Mydea doesn’t have the advantage of a half-forgotten childhood encounter, supreme magic to match the highest echelons of society, or even the privilege of an ally. In order to survive and make a name for herself, she must beat the Imperial Court at its own game. At least no one's tried to kill her—yet. Notes: Basically, if you liked the magic of Harry Potter and the politics of Game of Thrones, you'll probably like this. While the first book focuses on the female lead, and the interplay of competing regional and imperial interests, subsequent books will also cover warfare and how I imagine that differs wildly from historical norms with the introductions of a magical aristocracy.
