《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1520. Prairie Fire’s Teammates

An increase in grappling attributes had always been uniquely enjoyed by close-combat players. As an Archer, Prairie Fire had no use for it so giving it to Wang Yu wasn’t considered a huge loss.
To be honest, Prairie Fire inviting Wang Yu to help with his quest was prompted by a sudden impulse. It was merely because as a fellow expert, he wanted to understand just how strong Wang Yu was.
Others could say that the most direct way to understand someone’s strength was to exchange blows.
But what if he lost? Just how embarrassing was it going to be for him… The fact that Prairie Fire came all the way to Twilight City just to purchase the Dragon Massacre Medicine proved that Prairie Fire was a person who wouldn’t fight an unprepared battle. A person like this was naturally not going to easily challenge a renowned peak grade expert like Wang Yu.
Additionally, it was always clearer for the bystanders. Sometimes, watching someone fight was more beneficial than getting involved in the fight itself.
Besides, Wang Yu was dubbed to be the number one expert in the whole of >. Asking an expert like this for help on his quest was not going to be disadvantageous for him.
“Since that is the case, can we leave now?”
Prairie Fire asked with a smile after seeing how satisfied Wang Yu was with the skill book.
“Hold on, let me go apply for a leave!” Wang Yu patted his butt as he walked towards Mu Zixian.
Prairie Fire, “…”
Who would have thought that the number one expert in the game was actually a person like that?
After leaving the small alley of the convenience store, Prairie Fire headed straight towards the western region of the city.
Wang Yu inquired, “What are you doing?”
“We’re going to take the plane, ah! Heading to Sky Dragon City! My friends are all waiting there,” Prairie Fire replied.
“You don’t have to take the plane when you’re with me!” Wang Yu smiled.

“Really?”
A doubtful Prairie Fire followed Wang Yu to the teleportation formation. Wang Yu authorised Prairie Fire and the two of them appeared in Sky Dragon City after a flash of radiance.
Prairie Fire was dumbfounded when he saw this. When the guards at the teleportation formation saw Wang Yu, they greeted respectfully, “Greetings, City Lord Iron Bull!”
“City Lord?”
This time, Prairie Fire was completely stunned as he asked shockingly, “You’re a player of Twilight City yet you’re the City Lord of Sky Dragon City?”
“No!” Wang Yu replied pridefully, “I am one level above the City Lord. Even their City Lord has to greet me when he sees me.”
“Impressive!” Prairie Fire gave him a big thumbs up.
“Where are your teammates?” Wang Yu asked after scanning the surrounding.
“They are not here!” Prairie Fire continued, “They are all waiting at the bar waiting for my replenishment. Let’s head over!”
“Hey!” Wang Yu sighed, “You’re a team leader, yet you have to personally get the replenishments for them?”
“Yes… Isn’t this the same for your squad?” Prairie Fire asked.
“How I wish!” Wang Yu replied in a furious tone, “Our Quan Zhen Sect’s team leader has never taken anything out of his own pocket. He has never even paid for his own drinks at the bar.”
“So impressive?” Prairie Fire was dazed, “He must be very strong, right? Or is he very handsome?”
“Very rubbish! He is a trash person!” Wang Yu responded promptly.
“Damn it…” Prairie Fire was extremely confused at Wang Yu’s attitude towards his leader.
…
The two of them chatted on their way and it didn’t take long for them to reach the Sky Dragon City’s bar.
Sky Dragon City’s players previously thought that Heavenly Dragon was going to massacre the city so the majority of them left the city. The majority who stayed behind were high-level players who were constantly training. These players wouldn’t patronise the bar normally which explained why the Sky Dragon City’s bar was much less prosperous and crowded than the one at Twilight City.

Presently at the bar, there was only a group of loud female players sitting at the corner each with a cup of fruit juice in front of them. Nobody knows whose gossip they were talking about.
“Hey… did your teammates abandon you?” Wang Yu asked cheekily when he saw that.
At this moment, a clear voice could be heard from the corner, “Big brother Prairie Fire, you’re back?”
“???”
Wang Yu was taken aback only to see an Orc Lich Doctor standing up from where the group of female players sat.
This orc was different from the other green orcs because her skin was normal as she had pointed ears above her head. She was evidently a cat woman and with her relatively small figure and sweet voice, she looked like she came straight out of an anime.
Who would have thought that Prairie Fire looked so decent but he was actually a lolicon?! This was an epitome of never judge a book by its cover.
“She is your teammate?” Wang Yu asked curiously.
“No! They all are!” Prairie Fire replied.
“F*ck!”
This time, Wang Yu was the stunned one.
Prairie Fire’s table of teammates was truly of another level. Youthful anime girl, irresistible older sister, sexy and mature ladies… everything one could think of.
In online games, there were always much fewer female players as compared to males especially in a unique virtual reality game like >.
Therefore, there was an imbalance in terms of the ratio.
Out of ten players, it would be decent to have three female players. Prairie Fire was indeed extraordinary to have a whole table of such females.
Wang Yu was a man with a wife so he wasn’t that susceptible to females but it was still pleasing to his eye and heart to see so many female players.
He was still fine if he was grouped with a bunch of men. But if they ended up like the b*stards down at the Quan Zhen Sect, wretched, despicable, shameless and treacherous, he would be extremely turned off to help with this quest.
At the thought of all the bad characteristics of his squad, he sighed deeply when he looked over at Prairie Fire’s teammates yet again.
This time, Prairie Fire introduced him to the ladies, “This is the expert I’ve invited to help us out from Twilight City. I believe everyone has heard of him.”
“Expert?” “Who?”
Among the ladies, an exceptionally beautiful Assassin was toying with her dagger as she asked.
She was evidently pretty confident in her own abilities.
“Iron Bull!” Prairie Fire replied cheerfully.
“Iron Bull?!”
The moment the ladies heard Wang Yu’s name, they were all shocked. Even the cold-looking Assassin couldn’t help but lift her head to glance at Wang Yu.
It was clear that they were not unfamiliar with this name.
Prairie Fire pointed at the cat lady and introduced, “This is Dazed Pupils and she is a Lich Doctor.”
“Greetings, Big Brother Iron Bull!” The small lady was pretty respectful.
Shortly after, he pointed to the tank beside, “This is Fruit Crusader, a Holy Knight!”
“Nice to meet you!”
Fruit Crusader was around Wang Yu’s age and was one of the more mature looking players in the squad. When Prairie Fire introduced her, she simply nodded her head faintly.
“This is Elder Sister Li! An Ice Magician!” Prairie Fire pointed to the lady at the corner.
“Elder Sister Li? But she doesn’t look that old ah.” Wang Yu scratched his chin.
“My ID is Elder Sister Li!” Elder Sister Li explained.
“Wow!” Wang Yu sighed, “I should have called myself Uncle Bull then!”
“This is?” Wang Yu looked at the lady with the dagger.
“Exceptional Beauty.” The lady coldly introduced herself as she seemed a little unhappy with the lecherous way Wang Yu was looking at her.

Shaman
*** Let's get this clear now: the MC is a trans woman. This is not a gender-bender. It's set in a fantasy world but the exploration of identity and gender is reality-based. Not a joke, not a kinky turn-on. If this is a problem for you, please just act like an adult and look elsewhere for something to read. *** Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 2 x 5*, 1 x 4.5*, 1 x 3*, no reasons offered. A human shaman and healer returns from several years with the mysterious shyani, accompanied by her shapeshifting puma best friend. A valued friend, from her previous identity as a male student physician, has acquired an old shyani book, and extremists will not tolerate its presence in human hands. But back in human lands, the question arises: which world does she belong in? Generations ago, human explorers found a continent inhabited by an utterly alien culture of shapeshifting weyres and the shyani, humanoids who prefer dusk and dawn. A truce of sorts was eventually reached: humans claimed the rich lowlands, and the shyani and weyres retain the highlands. Along the border, practicality often rules, but on either side, old grudges linger in some hearts. As a student physician, Corin tried to take his own life, unable to bear the countless tiny wounds inflicted over twenty-one years of lying to himself in order to be, or pretend to be, socially acceptable. At the last improbable instant, intervention came, in the form of a spirit fox, who led him away from the existence he’d known in the lowlands and into the highlands. There, a puma weyre rescued him, and a shyani shaman helped him find his true self and offered a rebirth, a life with no more lies, and an important role to fill. Now a shaman and healer in her own right, Vixen who was once Corin learns that the one human who mattered to her in her previous life, then a fellow University student, has come into possession of an old shyani book, and the more fanatical shyani and weyres will stop at nothing to reclaim it and punish Jared. Even though it means going back into the lowlands and facing Jared as a woman, she can’t bear to just look the other way. This should be a short visit, just long enough to see the book into the proper hands and make sure Jared will not be killed for having it, and then she can return to the shyani community that has accepted her as their shaman. And, of course, her feline best friend Dayr insists on coming with her. But Jared is now a Lord, with considerable wealth and power, and his response to her presence isn’t one she expected. After years living with the shyani, she sees everything around her from a new perspective, and that makes it difficult to keep to the plan of making as few waves as possible. As an honoured guest in a highborn house, with only Jared aware that she has ever been anyone else, Vixen finds herself questioning where she belongs: with Dayr and the shyani, who accept her gender without question but have to make allowances for her differences, or with humans, in the culture she grew up in even though her past would mean a major scandal? *** Trigger warning: there are scenes of Vixen's previous life, which include some difficult moments and culminate in an (obviously unsuccessful) attempt at suicide before she finds her true self and a better life. Please be careful! This is the ONLY reason for the "Traumatising Content" tag.*** Complete stand-alone novel, 96K words. Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
