《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1330. Captain Blackbeard

“No change in the surroundings…”
Everyone looked around but did not notice anything odd.
They were out at sea where there was no reference object anywhere around them. Unless one was an experienced sailor, one wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
Wang Yu had never left far from his house ever since young and had only been to a river several times, let alone out to the sea. Of course, he wasn’t an experienced sailor of any sorts.
As a practitioner of martial arts, Wang Yu got used to being vigilant against danger…
As everyone knew, Wang Yu was a person with an extremely poor sense of direction, especially in a scene like this where it was incredibly easy to lose one’s way. Therefore, Wang Yu had never stopped observing the surrounding ever since they left the port which explained why he was the only one who noticed that something was missing.
“It has changed!”
Wang Yu pointed to the sun, “When we left the port, the sun is there and now, it is still there…”
“Brother!” Vainglory replied, “The sun will move with us so you cannot possibly reference ourselves to that.”
Vainglory was right because even an experienced sailor would only use the sun to position their direction and not use it as a reference object.
But Wang Yu shook his head and said, “Does the sun in a game move too?”
“This…” Everyone became speechless.
In >, the game ensured that the weather in each main city was unique to the city hence the weather system was embedded. For example, all four seasons in Thorn City was Autumn while Blazing Snow City was snowing all year round. Unless the system altered it, the weather wouldn’t change.
Heavenly bodies like the sun and moon were the same as they wouldn’t move which was why it wasn’t wrong for Wang Yu to use the sun as a reference object even out at sea.

“No wonder Ming Du could chase after the boat even when he was in the water… So the boat hasn’t moved at all?”
“I didn’t swim at all. I merely trap water…”
After Wang Yu’s warning, the others started sensing the peculiarity in the atmosphere.
Even though Yang Nuo knew how to fight well, she was still a lady who was naturally fearful of such freak situations. She cried out, “Could it be a ghost…?”
“Don’t worry!” Fearless consoled them, “There are no ghosts in the world!”
“But does that mean there isn’t one in the game?” Yang Nuo refuted.
“F*ck…”
Fearless was speechless.
This was a fantasy story based on sword and magic. There were even demons where Brother Spring could summon any time so it wasn’t hard for them to introduce some ghost into the game.
“Honglong!!”
Just when everyone was at a complete loss, the ship suddenly trembled vigorously which explained the loud sound.
The abrupt tremble caught everyone off guard as they were tossed out. Wang Yu and Yang Nuo were two of the more agile players so they managed to find their balance swiftly as they grabbed onto a handrail at the periphery of the deck.
At this moment, a bump appeared in front of the ocean as though a mountain emerged from the bottom of the ocean. As a wave lined up beneath the ship, the ship once again undulated up and down.
Because they were in a game, the system lowered the negative senses of the motion sickness. Otherwise, the swaying of the ship would have caused most of them to puke onboard.
As the waves subsided, Wang Yu’s ship gradually steadied itself as a massive ship appeared in front of Wang Yu’s ship.
This ship was several times bigger than Wang Yu’s ship but the exterior appeared even more damaged than Wang Yu’s… Without mentioning how dirty it was, the planks on the ship were all covered with holes. The strangest part of it was that the mask was even covered with spider webs and seaweed.

But… this ship came out from the water so the seaweed made sense but why the spiderweb?
After stabilising himself, Wang Yu checked out the ship and the details appeared within the guild chat.
Desperation: Vehicle
Background Description: The legendary specter ship that brings desperation to others. It bears the weight of the nightmares of countless traveling merchants in the past.
“This is the ship!”
Ming Du cried out desperately, “This is the ship that I saw earlier!”
“Hahahaha! Greetings, my cash cows!”
The moment Ming Du’s voice sounded, an ear-piercing laughter could be heard from Desperation. Everyone looked over towards a massive looking fella standing tall on the deck.
This fella was over three metres tall and wore a black hat. Under the hat was a monstrous face covered with octopus tentacles while his lower body had eight legs like a crab.
He carried a firearm in his right hand while his left hand was a massive crab pincer. In addition to his extremely sharp voice, he was indeed a peculiar character.
Wang Yu checked him out and the details of Desperation’s owner appeared in front of everyone.
Specter Ship’s Captain. Blackbeard (LV60) (Obsidian BOSS) (Ancient)
HP: 1 000 000
MP: 2000000
Skill: [Firearm Of Desperation], [Tide Assault], [Departed Spirit Massive Cannon]
Talent: [Gambling]
Background Description: The original overlord of the Sea of Death but went missing for over three hundred years for an unknown reason. He became the captain of Desperation and because of his savageness and gambling habit, he turned out to be an extremely dangerous figure.
…
“Even this plaything is Ancient grade?”
To be honest, everyone was pretty surprised when they saw Blackbeard’s attributes. To think that a monster which looked neither like a fish nor crab was actually this strong.
Of course, everyone would have been pretty terrified if they met an Ancient BOSS in the past. But now…
The number of Ancient BOSSes that Wang Yu had defeated was already uncountable… In fact, randomly picking one from that bunch was even stronger than this fella.
Naturally, this fella was not going to surprise too many of the Quan Zhen Sect.
“Tsk!” Everyone shook their heads as they looked back at Blackbeard, “I really thought he was going to be some impressive character given all the exaggerations. Turns out that he is just like that… Old Bull, take care of him!!!”
Following which, everyone retreated with smiles and laughter as they left Wang Yu on the deck.
…
Looking at the Quan Zhen Sect’s reaction, Blackbeard was slightly dumbfounded.
The fact that the Quan Zhen Sect left a Pugilist on the deck puzzled Blackbeard for a full five seconds before finally responding, “Hey, hey, hey! What are you guys doing?”
In the game settings, Blackbeard had been extremely notorious out at sea and anyone who met him would be terrified to even hear his name. However, the Quan Zhen Sect actually acted so nonchalantly which confused him.
Even if those people on board were not ordinary players, they were still merely Level 50 players, right? Why are they not reacting to a Level 60 Ancient BOSS?
“We’re finding a comfortable place to sit so we can watch you get beaten up!” Fearless turned and answered.
“Watch me get beaten up?” Blackbeard was confused initially before looking at Wang Yu, “Your old man here is still an Ancient BOSS! Can you show me some respect?”

How to Raise Your Dungeon
A dungeon core awakens for the first time. It knows nothing, it has nothing, but it can hear something. Voices, whispering, talking, and sharing. For now, they are distant. But it believes, if it proves itself, they may provide it with wisdom and direction. And so its slow but steady growth begins. Polls will come when the dungeon specifically wants to choose between a number of options, and believes it will receive an answer. However, it will "hear" any comments made on the most recent chapter, and these will shape its behaviour. It trusts you implicitely. This story is an exercise in stretching my creative muscles, so with each decision made, the options and opportunities open to the dungeon will change- some closing off forever. The dungeon will face threats periodically, and its fate in these encounters will be heavily influenced by your advice, though it will of course do its absolute best even without advice. It hardly wants to die. Heavily inspired by There Is No Epic Loot Here, Only Puns, though my approach to the concept is somewhat different from that work.

The Saga of Geir Røshjert
"His name will never be sung, son. Skalds and bards like me will never tell his stories to the mass. But only us and us alone will keep telling his story, his actions, his saga. For he is the man who started all of this." This is a story no man in Lumenter will ever hear, no man except for an Arnesen, for his stories are dull and generic to the ears of the masses, except for us, because he is the very reason why our people traveled this far east, why kingdoms in Erisgi fell and rose, why I... even existed in the first place. He is Geir, son of Arne, called 'the Stranger' by the people. But what he truly is, is a fiery red heart that beats inside every Eyklandian, Arnesen, and me.
