《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1281. A Face-Off Between Top-Tier Experts

Consecutive victories!!
Upon seeing Spring Halo taking down two opponents within less than ten minutes after going up on stage, the audience was left flabbergasted.
All of the members in the Kyushu Squad were top tier players and were known as the experts amongst the experts.
In terms of their strength, there was simply no comparison between them and the other squads.
On the other hand, Team A Murder Of Crows was merely a team that muddled their way through the preliminaries. Even though Quan Zhen Sect was rather well-known in the game, they were famous in a bad way.
Who would have thought that in this little squad, apart from Wang Yu, there was still another overbearing player in their midst?
Amongst the billions of players in >, the number of players that could compete on the same level as the experts were countable. However, the Team A Murder Of Crows actually had four players that could do so. This small battle team was truly one filled with crouching tigers and hidden dragons.
It was at this moment that Boundless Ocean finally understood why Fearless’ previous expression was so suspicious. With this kind of experts in their ranks, even if they chose to clash with them head-on, the Team A Murder Of Crows might still possess the capital to win.
…
Just when Boundless Ocean was recovering from his shock, the light pillar meant for selecting the players was shown on his figure. In a flash of white light, Boundless Ocean, as the fifth player from the Kyushu Squad, was sent up on stage.
The Kyushu Squad was different from Quan Zhen Sect. So long as the members from Quan Zhen Sect agreed, it didn’t matter who the big boss in the sect was. After all, everyone from Quan Zhen Sect were gathered together to have fun. Thus, the title of the Guild Leader was merely a superficial title and did not hold any special authority. On the contrary, the troublesome tasks were left to the Guild Leader instead, such as the purchasing of the entrance tickets. Therefore, everyone was more than willing to leave this role to the money-smart Fearless.
However, by looking at the squad Kingdom Of Hell, a battle team as by the book and rigid as the Kyushu Squad, without a certain level of capability, it was extremely difficult for one to be accepted as the squad leader in the team.

Therefore, in terms of individual strength and ability, Boundless Ocean was considered the best amongst the Kyushu Squad, which comprised of experts in their ranks. With regards to his own strength, Boundless Ocean was extremely confident in himself.
Even though Spring Halo’s performance had amazed everyone, in Boundless Ocean’s eyes, Spring Halo was merely good at calculating and predicting his enemies’ movements. Such strength was still considered lacking when competing against the best of players. Thus, Boundless Ocean was naturally confident in his ability to overcome this.
The moment Boundless Ocean was sent onto the stage, Spring Halo was sent back onto the peak of the mountain.
A Shaman did not have much advantage when fighting against a Magician. After all, the attack range of both classes was approximately the same. On the other hand, a Magician possessed control abilities and had the highest damage output amongst all of the job classes. Thus, it could even be said that a Shaman would lose out in a one vs one situation against a Magician.
At this point, Spring Halo could only rely on his higher ground advantage to outrange Boundless Ocean.
Currently, both squads were tied in the second round. Thus, Boundless Ocean was naturally unwilling to die together with Spring Halo. The moment the match began, Boundless Ocean began ascending the mountain.
Spring Halo hid behind a rock and glanced at the approaching Boundless Ocean.
As Spring Halo had the height advantage, Boundless Ocean was unable to see where Spring Halo was. On the other hand, Spring Halo had a good grasp on the movements of Boundless Ocean.
This was the advantage brought about by a higher-ground position.
Seeing Boundless Ocean walking closer and closer to him and was about to enter his attack range, Spring Halo secretly activated [Dark Barrier].
The casting duration for [Dark Barrier] was relatively long. Even though Spring Halo had a full body of equipment meant for reducing the player’s casting time, a duration of 1.5s was still required.
After successfully casting [Dark Barrier], Spring Halo abruptly revealed his head and aimed three green [Poison Arrows] at Boundless Ocean.
[Poison Arrow] was a Shaman’s fastest projectile ability. In the blink of an eye, the arrows arrived in front of Boundless Ocean.

Boundless Ocean knew that the reason Spring Halo caste the [Poison Arrow]s was to prevent him from advancing. Thus, given Boundless Ocean’s character, he naturally wouldn’t let Spring Halo get his way. Thus, he immediately tumbled forward into a roll on the ground, avoiding Spring Halo’s [Poison Arrow]s.
However, at this moment, Boundless Ocean discovered that there was a black circle on the ground underneath him.
“Duang!”
The [Dark Barrier] rose from the ground.
Boundless Ocean’s head just so happened to bang against the barrier, instantly getting trapped on the spot.
“Hehe!”
Spring Halo wretchedly smiled as he released a cloud of poison mist towards Boundless Ocean’s figure.
The poison mist instantly enveloped Boundless Ocean’s figure within it.
“Dang…”
A shattering sound was heard as the Boundless Ocean within the poison mist suddenly shattered into pieces.
“Not good! It’s [Ice Clone]!”
Upon seeing this, Spring Halo’s heart skipped a beat. Without a second thought, he frantically turned around and retreated backwards.
However, the moment Spring Halo recovered from his shock, it was already too late. The air not far away from Spring Halo started to tremble as Boundless Ocean’s figure suddenly appeared with a fully cast [Icy Seal] in his hand. With a wave of his hand, the ability flew towards Spring Halo.
“Shua…”
A wave of absolute zero degrees of cold air was blasted onto Spring Halo’s body, causing his figure to instantly turn into ice, creating an “ice coffin” with his head dangling outside of it.
“Haha!”
Boundless Ocean smiled slightly and thought in his heart, “Even after all of your calculations, you still ended up trapped in my hands!”
As he was pondering to himself, Boundless Ocean had agglomerated an [Icy Spear] and sent it flying towards Spring Halo’s exposed head. However, the moment Boundless Ocean took a clear look at Spring Halo’s head, he was momentarily stunned.
Unexpectedly, the one that was caught in the “ice coffin” wasn’t Spring Halo, but rather a demon!
Even though [Icy Seal] had an extremely high hit rate, it was a single target ability. Previously, Tranquility Yields Transcendence was able to use his [Beheading Slash] to fend off this ability, thus Spring Halo’s demon was naturally able to do so as well.
Without giving Boundless Ocean a chance to recover, Spring Halo suddenly sprang out from behind the coffin and went around Boundless Ocean’s figure, raising his staff and activating [Poison Nova].
“Swoosh!”
A cloud of poison mist emanated from Spring Halo’s figure.
Luckily for his quick reflexes, the moment he heard a noise behind him, Boundless Ocean’s figure instantaneously flashed as he arrived at the other side of the “ice coffin”, avoiding Spring Halo’s [Poison Nova].
After avoiding Spring Halo’s ability, cold sweat formed on Boundless Ocean’s forehead as he softly cursed in his heart, “F*ck! This old guy is hard to deal with!”
There were only a few abilities that could allow a Magician to re-position himself. After a few exchanges, Boundless Ocean had already been forced to use all of his escaping abilities. This was the first time in his gaming life that Boundless Ocean had been forced to such a miserable state.
On the other hand, upon seeing Boundless Ocean’s figure right in front of him, Spring Halo was even more in shock.
Spring Halo was as confident in his own calculations as Wang Yu was in his martial arts. His opponent had managed to escape his grasp twice in a row when his abilities were clearly about to hit its target. This was definitely a huge blow to Spring Halo’s confidence.
As can be seen, Boundless Ocean’s reaction time and ability casting had already reached the peak level possible.
He truly lives up to his title as a professional expert player and was a cut above the rest.
Thinking up till this point, Spring Halo had no intention of holding back any longer. With the Book of Seals in his left hand and the magic staff in his right emanating a bright and piercing glow, Spring Halo summoned another nine demons under the gaze of the audience.

Winter Fire [ Book 1 ] ✔
On the second jump, Claire's bad leg gave way and she felt herself tumbling forward. A cry of surprise escaped her and Claire was certain she was about to topple off the side of the train. Alek, however, moved quickly, catching her mid-fall and keeping her upright, and alive. Claire lifted her eyes to meet his which were wide with alarm. The expression was fleeting, lasting for only a moment before it was replaced by a frown. "You could have fallen," he said pointedly."I know," Claire breathed, finding her thoughts drifting to the strong arm wrapped around her waist. A flush rose to her cheeks and she was grateful for the biting wind that masked her reaction. "Thank you.""You need to be more careful," he continued, his eyes locked on hers, bright and haunting in the silver glow of the moon overhead."I will," Claire assured him, her heart skipping in her chest.
