《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1272. The Troublesome Sacred Mountain

The faces of the players from Kyushu Squad darkened as they saw that Ming Du had snatched victory in this match.
They were unhappy at the factors of the overall battle that were out of their control.
Although the two had undeniable strength, they were still unable to accept that it was Ming Du rather than Wang Yu or Evil Rampage that took a point off them.
Who knew Ming Du was capable of such a stellar display?
Innocent Playmate was inconsolable after her loss and was drenched in her tears.
Boundless Ocean walked over to offer some words of encouragement, “Alright, losing in battle is nothing to be ashamed of. Don’t be so hard on yourself after this loss but instead keep this important lesson in mind that a battle is not only won through skills or set attributes.”
Boundless Ocean gazed at Ming Du who was nearby and he made a mental note to never underestimate this bunch from Quan Zhen Sect.
Innocent Playmate was just a player that Boundless Ocean sent to gauge the ability of his opponents. Her loss did not bear much significance to their overall strategy…
Ming Du could be considered a good gauge of the average ability of the players from Quan Zhen Sect.
After a round of battle, Boundless Ocean had to recalibrate his strategy for the later rounds.
Their battle strength was never in doubt since they could qualify for the professional competition. It was their ingenuity and capacity to adapt to any situation that made them a formidable opponent.
This bunch of players only fought on their own terms, they did not follow any set rules and never allowed themselves to passively be led by an opponent’s tempo.
From the Ming Du’s battle against Innocent Playmate, it was easy to deduce that there was going to many unforeseen elements in future battles.
Boundless Ocean prefered things to be predictable and stable. Facing such an unstructured team, Boundless Ocean felt extremely disconcerted.

What was it meant that no strategy was also a strategy? The battle style of the players from Quan Zhen Sect embodied this statement.
…
After winning two matches, the players from the Quan Zhen Sect felt they had more breathing room.
The actual abilities of the members were wildly different. There was Wang Yu who was unmatched compared to Frost Blade who was comparatively much weaker to other professional players.
They only had control over their fate in the first and third round.
Following the computation of points, the first round was worth five points. The second round was worth ten points if you could kill five members of the opposing team while the third round was also worth ten points.
The ten points in the second round were not firmly in control of the Quan Zhen Sect so they could only guarantee 15 points. If they were to lose three or more points in the first round, there was no chance of victory.
Therefore, it was the first round that determined the outlook of the overall battle.
Since the score for the first round was at 2:2, the final round would be decisive.
The players from Quan Zhen Sect were most assured this round because Wang Yu himself would be fighting.
The Kyushu Squad also already predicted their opponent’s strategy and knew that Wang Yu was going to be sent up.
Wang Yu was a supreme expert that could easily dispatch God of War Tranquility Yields Transcendence, much less needed to be said of the other players from Kyushu Squad. It was a guaranteed loss for Kyushu Squad in this last match of the first round.
For this team, losing was already a confirmed outcome so they just needed to decide who was to be the sacrificial lamb.
Everyone was a distinguished and proud player in their own rights so no one wanted to be the player that had to endure a beating.

Just when Kyushu Squad was still deliberating on who to send to their deaths, Wang Yu pointed at Sacred Mountain and taunted, “You over there, do you dare fight me one on one.”
“F*ck, that was a shameless move. I have been called out!!”
The players from Kyushu Squad all glanced at each other and subconsciously distanced themselves away from Sacred Mountain to prevent themselves from being dragged into the unfolding tragedy.
Sacred Mountain replied Wang Yu in a befuddling manner, “Boss, why did you choose me?”
Wang Yu looked at him and scoffed coldly, “Don’t you know what you have done? Do you dare to fight me then?”
“I…”
Sacred Mountain was almost brought to tears when he heard Wang Yu’s taunts. When did he wrong this master?
Sacred Mountain’s other comrades urged him on, “Little Mountain, you gotta take this one for us.”
“That’s right, that’s right.” The rest of the other Kyushu Squad members joined in the chorus of voices encouraging Sacred Mountain.
Seeing that Sacred Mountain was so hesitant, Wang Yu snorted, “Hmph! Could it be the top Assassin in the top squad in the country doesn’t even have the courage to fight me?”
“F*ck…”
The players from the Quan Zhen Sect revealed a blank expression.
These players were extremely close to Wang Yu and they knew his personality well. Even though he was heads above his opponents, he was always humble in victory. For him to adopt this haughty and arrogant persona this time was unlike him at all.
Fearless quickly turned to Evil Rampage and asked, “Are you Old Bull or is the player on the stage Old Bull? Why does he sound so different?”
Evil Rampage looked on with a displeased expression and replied, “Hmph, we need to teach those people who deserve to be taught a lesson!”
“That’s absolutely right!” Yang Nuo was also riled up as she raised her crossbow in her hand and stared down at Sacred Mountain.
Fearless and the rest were taken aback. What did Sacred Mountain do wrong in his past life to offend the three of them? Was he the legendary scum in the martial arts world?
…
Sacred Mountain himself was a top tier professional so he harboured a strong self-esteem.
Although he admitted to himself that he was not a match for Wang Yu, he could not stay silent in the face of Wang Yu’s mockery.
This was a slap in his face in front of tens of thousands of live audiences, coupled with the millions back streaming at home. If he did not fight, he would have lost all shred of his dignity.
Sacred Mountain steeled himself and stood up, “Why would I be scared of you? I might be a match for you since you are a Pugilist.”
At this moment, Sacred Mountain accepted the battle.
A white streak of light brought the two in the battle arena.
The players from Kyushu Squad were raising their thumbs at Sacred Mountain’s valiant efforts, “Brother is really a fierce warrior! But why was he called out in the first place?”
Nine Deities Arrow harrumphed, “Who knows? Maybe is because he has such a hideous face?”
…
The crowd began to discuss and predict the potential outcomes of the battle.
In the arena, Wang Yu had swept through any obstacles or expert that stood in his way. He had even taken down God of War, Tranquility Transcendence and carved his name in the annals of history.
However, in a PK battle, an Assassin held the advantage over a Pugilist so it was difficult to make a clear prediction on who would come out victorious.

The Complete Alchemyst book 1
You've heard of superheroes, seen them flying across the sky, destroying great swaths of cities and ending countless innocent lives in order to defeat great evils and world-spanning threats and sell lots of sponsorships and merchandising opportunities. This is a story about the guy that is not those heroes. A supervillain in a world where making the right friends and political contacts is what separates the good guys from the bad. The Alchemyst is a story about a normal guy in a crazy world that spends his time trying to follow his dreams and conscience, working on new potions, thinking about girls, and lifting heavy shit, while trying to stay under the radar of the superheroes, supervillains, and governments that want what he can do. And occasionally turning them into makeshift melee weapons. If you enjoy The Boys, the Aberrant roleplaying game, Mystery Men, Trashy romances, Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, or SAW you may enjoy this book. Please note that this book has extremely graphic and sometimes gross fight scenes, heroes as villains, villains as heroes, opinionated and often politically incorrect characters, some graphic sex scenes, dad jokes, dirty jokes, realistic depictions of romance and flirting, bondage and dominance themes, and more than a few cuss words when they are really appropriate. This is NOT a superhero genre deconstruction. Many heroes truly are heroes, and they don't all need to be destroyed to make a good story, but it does look into the dark side of superpowers and the unreasonable and often contradictory demands placed on exceptional people.
