《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1261. Like The Shadow Following The Body

After so many years of fighting against the Quan Zhen Sect, Nine Solitary Spears grew wiser.
The Knight Brilliance was originally a skill used like a smokescreen to blind the opposition for a moment. To think that Nine Solitary Spears was smart enough to use it as an anti-stealth skill.
Under the effect of the powder, Frost Blade was no longer able to conceal himself. Nine Solitary Spears charged forward with his long spear.
As everyone knew, Frost Blade’s coordinations were merely average. Half of his strength came from his equipment while the other half came from his [Stealth].
Now that he could no longer conceal himself, his strength suffered a significant reduction. When Nine Solitary Spears came charging at him with a spear, all he could do was to defend it with his dagger.
Frost Blade was only a sneaky Assassin. Fighting in this manner was clearly not his strength.
“Boom!”
A crashing sound could be heard.
Frost Blade was instantly sent flying by Nine Solitary Spears.
“[Spear Toss]!”
Nine Solitary Spears retreated half a step as he held onto his spear with both hands and struck it upwards. Frost Blade was immediately tossed above him.
“[Spear Of The Holy Scar]!!”
Following which, Nine Solitary Spears managed to strike five consecutive spears onto Frost Blade’s four limbs and heart.

A series of damages float above Frost Blade’s head and his HP bar immediately turned red.
He was definitely worthy to be known as the person in the Quan Zhen Sect with the most luxurious equipment. After suffering so many hits from Nine Solitary Spears, he actually survived.
“[Descending Holy Strike]!”
Nine Solitary Spears was shocked when he first saw that Frost Blade survived his series of attacks. However, he did not waste any time as he stretched out his hand to grab the ankle of Frost Blade who was still in mid-air to throw him towards the ground.
“Boom!”
Frost Blade’s head struck the ground first and in the end, he was turned into white light and sent off the stage.
…
This match bored the spectators to death.

Even though not all the spectators were top experts, they had witnessed so many matches that their taste in exciting matches grew significantly.
The two players on the stage were fighting with loopholes all over the place. For example, the Knight executed [Charge] as the very first move while the Assassin did not even know how to use [Haste] when the Knight approached and exposed him. Such standards of a fight should not even appear in a competition like this.
However, the spectators did not have high expectations of them from the very beginning. After all, one of them was an amateur player while the other was not a proper fighter…
…
Even though Nine Solitary Spears won the match, he did not feel as happy as he thought he would be. Initially, he was planning to sacrifice himself to lure Wang Yu out. In the end, the Quan Zhen Sect randomly threw some dirt at him.
To Nine Solitary Spears, Wang Yu’s existence was not merely as simple as an enemy. In Nine Solitary Spears’ eyes, Wang Yu was basically a nuclear bomb. As long as Wang Yu did not appear to fight, Nine Solitary Spears would constantly feel uneasy. Therefore, he would never dare to put Tranquility Yields Transcendence up.
Hence, Nine Solitary Spears thought for a long while before sending Thunderlord Block up for the next match.
While Thunderlord Block was not as good as Tranquility Yields Transcendence, he was also a peak grade expert.
There was a high chance that he would win any other player from the Quan Zhen Sect. Even if he lost to Wang Yu, Nine Solitary Spears wouldn’t feel too much heartache as well.
Team A Murder Of Crows sent out Yang Nuo.
As the number one Guardian in the country, there was no need to doubt Thunderlord Block’s strength.
Yang Nuo’s past few performances in the competition were truly remarkable. As a female player and a pretty decent looking one, Yang Nuo left a rather deep impression in everyone’s mind.
Once the two of them were on stage, the spectators’ spirits instantly lifted.
Fearless scratched his chin to ask Wang Yu, “Hey! Do you think Little Snow can defeat Thunderlord?”

After being teammates with Yang Nuo for such a long time, Fearless naturally knew her strength and capabilities. As a martial artist, Yang Nuo ranked second in the Quan Zhen Sect just behind Wang Yu.
However, Thunderlord Block was also not a weakling and a Guardian would have an absolute advantage over an Archer. Therefore, Fearless did not have a clear idea of who would emerge victorious in this one.
“I think 50-50!” Wang Yu thought for a while before saying, “It depends on how and if they are capable of bringing out their best!”
The countdown for the start of the match ended.
Thunderlord Block and Yang Nuo fought in a dungeon before and after watching the previous matches, Thunderlord Block knew that this lady was impressive. Once the match began, he was 120% focused and prudent of his opponent.
Yang Nuo looked faintly at Thunderlord Block and immediately released an arrow towards him.
Thunderlord Block raised his shield when he saw the arrow flying towards him.
At the same time, Yang Nuo ran towards Thunderlord Block at an incredible speed.
Yang Nuo was a standard agility Archer who was, of course, speedy. It would merely take a few steps for her to run from one end to the other end of the stage. Hence, the distance between the two of them was naturally covered within seconds.
“Dang!”
The arrow was blocked and fell to the ground. When Thunderlord Block regained his senses, Yang Nuo was already right in front of him. She raised her bow and arrow and aimed right at Thunderlord Block’s eyes.
Thunderlord Block was flabbergasted as he hurriedly protected his front with his shield and taunted Yang Nuo with his middle finger.
“B*stard!”
Yang Nuo was pulled towards Thunderlord Block emotionlessly.
Following which, Thunderlord Block swung his shield forward and downwards to execute [Shield Bash] on Yang Nuo.
Before the shield could hit her, Yang Nuo took one step forward and executed [Sidestep].
When an Archer used [Sidestep], he/she would be invincible and could even go through a wall or any other form of terrain. A person who could pass through a wall wouldn’t worry about Thunderlord Block.
Thunderlord Block’s shield descended and Yang Nuo bypassed Thunderlord Block to arrive at his back.
Once the [Shield Bash] missed its target, Thunderlord Block’f figure leaned forward naturally. Yang Nuo extended her left hand to stabilise Thunderlord Block before firing off an arrow towards the back of Thunderlord Block’s head with her right hand.
An Archer would learn armour-piercing skills in level 30 so ordinary armours wouldn’t be able to block an attack from an Archer. The main reason why Guardians had such an advantage over Archers was mainly because a Guardian’s shield wouldn’t be pierced through by arrows.
If it was an attack from the back, hehe!
“Pfft!”
When Yang Nuo’s arrow pierced through Thunderlord Block’s head, a damage floated above Thunderlord Block’s head.
Thunderlord Block turned around without hesitation.
Yang Nuo took one step forward to keep close to Thunderlord Block’s back calmly. Her right leg followed his right leg and her left leg followed his left leg. At the very moment Thunderlord Block turned around, Yang Nuo also turned to the other side.
“Heh!” Wang Yu chuckled when he saw this move, “Like the shadow following the body! This lady is pretty smart.”
“???”
Thunderlord Block was confused and lost when he saw that there was no one behind him. Yang Nuo took one step back and fired yet another arrow towards the back of his head.
“Still behind!”
Thunderlord Block was startled as he raised his foot and was about to execute [Seismic Wave]. Yang Nuo casually jumped right out of his [Seismic Wave]’s range.
“Boom!”
The surrounding ground around Thunderlord Block trembled and Thunderlord Block used this opportunity to turn around.
However, just when Thunderlord Block turned around, two more arrows were already flying towards his eyes.
In the split second Thunderlord Block saw the arrows coming his way, he raised his shield to block off the two arrows. Yang Nuo rushed forward and then did a forward roll towards Thunderlord Block’s back again.
Raising her bow, she fired yet another shot.
“Woo!”
Yet another arrow fired towards the back of Thunderlord Block’s head.

Special shout-out to Douglas Adams, a big influence on narative humor that's had a non-insignificant effect on my writing style. I hope you enjoy joining Mara on her journey as I attempt to scratch the itch they left behind.Chapters target 3-6k~ words. Though I'm personally aiming for a chapter every couple weeks, I think I can at least promise one a month with how busy work's been. I made a Patreon due to requests, if you'd like to support me there I'll be using it to fund artwork and RR ads for increased exposure.
