《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1195. Opponent

“Good!”
The roars sounded off in the auditorium. After four rounds of battle, there was finally a good show after the first three matches.
Pugilists did not have talent in Weapon or Shield, so they were weaker than other jobs in terms of defence and attack distance.
The only advantage Pugilists have was their short CD time and Vainglory just showcased a perfect example of how a Pugilist should be street-smart, teaching the Pugilist present an important lesson.
Even Shadow Craze lost convincingly.
As an advantage of being a Pugilist, having short CD time was something that cannot be easily changed by outside forces.
After Shadow Craze got defeated by Quan Zhen Sect, Spiritual Shadows surrendered.
The first battle was won by Team A Murder of Crows.
Nobody was shocked by Spiritual Shadow’s decision. Even if the rest of them came up for battle, the result will be of no difference. The only wasted player was Shadow Craze.
Of course, chances would always be given to those capable. The professional tournament was not only for gamers, but this was also a chance for managers of big teams to spot and recruit talents.
Both Shadow Craze and Vainglory were not old in age and were skilled. Though the battle fell under the leisure category, the battle was engaging and both of them definitely left a huge impression on the audience.
Also, since both were decent looking young men, they would have been spotted by lots of people already because they fit the criteria for recruitment.
After the battle, both players exited the gaming cabin.
Right after that, Shadow Craze ran to Quan Zhen Sect’s team and exclaimed with excitement, “You got some moves, brother! It was my honour to have been able to battle with you.”
“Hehe…” Vainglory smiled and looked at the others awkwardly and continued, “It was my pleasure to battle with you too, but I am definitely not an expert or any sort…”

After saying that, Vainglory looked and Wang Yu and the rest.
“Uh…” Shadow Craze followed where Vainglory was looking and looked over, then said, “Is this the legendary Iron Bull?”
“Yes! Uncle Bull is the real expert. All my kung fu was taught by him,” Vainglory replied.
“Is that so?” Shadow Craze asked with surprise, “Do you have any secrets to success, Master Iron Bull?”
“Secret?” Wang Yu paused and replied, “Does knowing Kung Fu count?”
“Ah?” Shadow Craze was stunned, “Kung Fu? There is really such a thing.”
“Of course!” Wang Yu continued, “I am the Fist Master. I think you have fast reflexes. Do you want to learn some Kung Fu from me?”
“…”
Shadow Craze went speechless of awhile and turned around to speak to Vainglory, “You should get going, brother. I will talk to you another day. I have something on now, gotta go!”
After saying that, Shadow Craze escaped at the speed of light, leaving Quan Zhen Sect behind.
“What kind of person was that!”
Seeing Wang Yu being insulted, Mu Zixian was really fired up.
“It’s okay…”
Wang Yu said calmly, “There is still a long way to go to let people accept Kung Fu. If we can show people good results, everybody would be naturally interested in learning Kung Fu then.
While Wang Yu and the rest were loitering in their resting area, Nian Liuyun and his gang came over.
Looks like they are up for the next fight.
“Brother Yu!” Nian Liuyun was nice and polite and greeted Wang Yu immediately.
“Hi…” Wang Yu waved to Nian Liuyun too.
The two of them behaved like old friends but it was pretty awkward for the others.
Quan Zhen Sect had been treated unjustly by Purity and her men once, so all of them squint their eyes at the sight of Purity, plotting something in their heads.

However, Evil Rampage was an outsider and did not have hatred with Nian Liuyun and his men. This fella stuck right onto Purity and said while smiling, “Hey, Little Li, did not expect us to meet right here!”
Purity was arrogant as usual and did not acknowledge the presence of anyone weaker than her. After seeing Evil Rampage, she replied coldly, “I did not expect players of your standards to make it to the professional tournaments.”
“Hmph!” Before Evil Rampage could reply, Fearless replied coldly, “Since players of your standard can make it, why can’t ours?”
“What did you say?!”
After hearing what was being said, the players behind Purity looked at Fearless with anger, while Wang Yu turned his body sideways and shielded Fearless behind himself.
The originally angry players immediately calmed down at the sight of Wang Yu.
“Haha!”
Purity took a look at Wang Yu then at Fearless and continued sneering, “Actually, I really admire your courage for wearing these clothes here to embarrass yourselves. To protect you from embarrassing yourselves, I have decided to assist you guys on the arena. I will not let you guys embarrass yourselves all the way to the finals.”
“Psh.” Fearless was unaffected and continued, “The only thing I’m afraid of is that you guys won’t even get to meet us… Pray for that to happen.”
“Tsk!”
Purity knew that she was not Fearless’s match when it comes to verbal fights and ignored him after making a noise.
Right at this moment, the workers started to rush them, “Okay, rest time is over. Everyone, please be quick.”
“Got it, got it,” Nian Liuyun and his men responded and entered the game cabin with Purity.
…
Looking at those in the gaming cabin, Fearless pulled a long face and said, “If there are no sudden changes, these guys might be our last competitors.”
Wang Yu smiled and replied, “Why? Are you scared of them?”
“You will obviously not be scared!” Spring Halo and the others shouted back at Wang Yu and continued, “But you should still care about how we are feeling.”
Indeed, though Nian Liuyun and his men could not do anything harmful in front of Wang Yu, they were still people who practiced martial arts.
Excluding others in their team, Nian Liuyun and Thirteen Ji were not any weaker than Evil Rampage, and for Purity, she was definitely stronger than Evil Rampage.
In addition, no matter how much weaker the others were compared to those three, they still knew martial arts and were definitely stronger than the normal players in Quan Zhen Sect. If they were to really battle each other, perhaps only Wang Yu, Yang Nuo and Evil Rampage could match up to them.
However, the tournament was a team effort. Even if Wang Yu was unbeatable, it would be hard for Quan Zhen Sect to win.
“Don’t worry!” Wang Yu waved his hands, “I won’t blame you guys for dragging the team down!”
“F*ck! Don’t be a b*stard!” Fearless scolded, “Take this time to teach us some moves so that we will not look as miserable when we lose!”

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I have taken inspiration from waaaay tooo many novels that I liked, and while there aren't any specific ones that I based this upon there are a few that I definitely took inspiration from like : the author's POV, chronicles of the heavenly demon [you can probably see where this inspired me ;)], etc.

Rooms of the Desolate
Rooms of the Desolate is a collection of short stories designed to guide the reader through the many rooms and mysteries of the bleak and greyscale labyrinth of the Desolate. The first entry, "The Forever Tower" follows an unnamed wanderer climbing an endless, colourless tower; the only world they have ever known. As they slowly ascend alongside the masses, they consider the nature of their world and look to the corridors as temptation beckons. The second entry, "Production Line", follows an engineer in a boundless factory, who encounters a product that does not wish to bow to the overseers and makes them question their belief in the truth and duties they were made to believe. Content guidelines: Current entries do not include explicit profanity, but future entries may do so, hence the presence of that tag. Some entries do include gore and violence, though not currently to particularly extreme degrees. The Desolate is exactly that: a desolate world; as such, it is bleak, downtrodden, and may deal with mental struggles. Cover art credit: Adam Borkowski on Pexels.
