《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1183. Shadow Moon Staff

Peaceful times usually passed unknowingly.
Five days later, Spring Halo finally managed to gather all the necessary materials due to everyone’s hard work just before the start of the tournament.
With the upcoming tournament approaching, the PVP arena was filled with experts coming in for last-minute preparations.
While the Quan Zhen Sect’s players were not weak, their win rates were not comparable to Wang Yu.
The way Wang Yu fought solo was pretty simple. The tougher part was finding the opponent. Given Wang Yu’s strength, it would take less than ten minutes for him to find the opponent and kill him. If his opponent was some ignorant idiot who simply tried to ambush him, Wang Yu would take less than a minute to end the battle.
Even so, team battles were vastly different from solo fights. Not only those ones had to be brave, one would have to have some fighting spirit too. At times when they met with comparable opponents, it could take up to one hour per round… Just like that, they could barely fight ten battles in a day.
Being able to gather all the materials within five days was considered an impressive rate.
Within the Quan Zhen Sect’s forging workshop, Wang Yu stood in front of the workbench with Spring Halo’s staff on it. Everyone surrounded Wang Yu and stretched out their necks to watch Blacksmith Wang Yu in action.
If there was no accident, this should be their first time witnessing the making of a god-grade equipment.
The scariest part of using the Black Crystal was having the wrong attribute extracted. After all, this Black Crystal was extremely precious and valuable. Fortunately, Spring Halo’s staff only had one attribute so there was no need to worry about that.
Wang Yu placed the staff on the workbench, opened up the extraction plane and placed the Black Crystal onto it.
After a flash of radiance, Spring Halo’s staff turned into fine powder under the tremendous pressure of the magic.

“Bull, ah, please be careful…”
Looking at his staff disappear, Spring Halo’s heart almost jumped out of his body. He only felt relieved the moment he saw that the staff’s attribute was successfully extracted by the Black Crystal.
Spring Halo had depended on this skill for his entire life. If this staff was really destroyed, Spring Halo might just have to delete his account and quit the game too.
Wang Yu naturally knew how important this staff was to Spring Halo so he grew incredibly serious and focused after the first step. He cautiously took out the Grip of Darkness and placed it on the workbench too.
Following which, he said, “Don’t be anxious, don’t be anxious. Once you’re nervous, my hands will tremble and everything might fail.”
“Oh…” Everyone held onto their breaths as they heard that.
For insurance purposes, Wang Yu even placed the ‘Divine Smith’ title on his head.
Regardless of whether Wang Yu placed it on his head, the attributes of a Divine Smith would come into play. However, Wang Yu still felt more stable and secured with it on his head. After all, there were not many requirements for coordinations for combining equipment.
According to the system notification, Wang Yu placed the respective materials in order before placing the Black Crystal at the lowest notch.
All of a sudden, one more checkbox appeared within the Black Crystal’s material list.
“Intermediary medium???”
Wang Yu was slightly shocked as he hurriedly looked at the additional description: Usage of the intermediary medium can increase the rate of success tremendously. Additionally, there is a fixed probability of an extra attribute or a tweak in the attributes formed.
Looking at the description, Wang Yu clicked to use it without hesitation.
To Wang Yu, being able to create new attributes wasn’t important. The most important aspect was the success rate… If he really destroyed this staff, even if Spring Halo didn’t blame him, Wang Yu would never feel at ease with himself.

After clicking, a black coloured notebook appeared in the intermediary medium box. This item was the ‘Tyrone’s Diary’ which Wang Yu had no idea what it was for initially.
After readjusting his emotions, Wang Yu clicked ‘start’.
At the same time, dark clouds started floating towards the brightly lit Twilight City. The dark clouds covered the sky above the Twilight City’s headquarters as it was filled with visible lightning bolts.
The procedures continued as everyone noticed the changes in the sky above them. When they looked up and saw the clouds, they suddenly recalled the scene when Wang Yu forged the first god-grade equipment.
The only difference was that previously, it was magical clouds infused with sacred rays. This time, it was dark clouds.
Three minutes later, the instructions for the forging of the equipment was complete.
At this moment, a frightening lightning bolt was formed within the dark clouds. Seconds later, this lightning bolt pierced through the roof of the forging workshop and struck onto the Grip of Darkness.
At the same time, a system notification was announced.
“As the voice of darkness approaches, the bugle horn of battle is about to sound off. Player ‘Iron Bull’ has successfully uncovered the seal of ten thousand years to release the godly equipment of the devil race. Darkness has returned to the land and this moment shall be recorded in history.”
…
Following the system announcement, the radiances on the workbench dispersed and the new equipment showed itself.
The three massive gems were still as eye-catching as before while the originally eerie-looking skull had turned into a half-moon shape.
On the staff, there were magic inscriptions carved onto it. The dark energy circulating around the body of the staff instantly attracted the attention of everyone.
Wang Yu wiped his sweat as he opened up the attributes.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
