《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1172. Black Crystal

“Who are you two? Why are you trespassing into my Dark Temple?”
That voice was not loud but it clearly entered Wang Yu and Shroom Devil King’s ears.
The two of them hurriedly turned around and looked deep into the temple. They saw a man clad in black clothing sitting right in the middle of it.
That man in black looked pale and his hair was messy. Although he was dressed nicely, it did not cover up his disheveled appearance.
Wang Yu looked around and there was no one else so obviously, the one who spoke was this man in black.
From the temple to the entrance where they were, it was at least a dozen metres far and yet this man’s whisper could pierce through the commotion of the troops outside and clearly reach their ears. This meant that his abilities were no weaker than Saint Alice.
Needless to say, this man was the legendary Light Apostle, Leon.
Wang Yu was about to ask but after just a few steps, a black shield suddenly appeared, blocking their way.
Just then, Leon, who was in the temple asked coldly, “Did you lure these Cross troops here?”
Wang Yu, “…”
The game designer was really treacherous. Usually, quests would have wordplay but now even in a conversation with an NPC, there were also traps.
Obviously, Leon’s tone showed signs of animosity. If Wang Yu honestly replied yes, Leon would not hesitate to throw the two of them out of the temple.
Luckily, Wang Yu had suffered in the hands of many NPCs and was almost set up by Saint Alice just now so naturally, he was warier.
Hearing Leon’s tone, Wang Yu calmly replied, “These Cross troops are coming after me.”
“Oh?” Leon, who was in the Dark Temple raised an eyebrow and asked again, “Why are they after you?”

“Because of this!” Wang Yu took out the box with Saint Alice’s head from his bag then threw it towards Leon. The box passed the barrier and landed beside Leon.
Leon’s body trembled a bit and did not open the box. Instead, he asked suspiciously, “What is this?”
“Saint Alice’s head. I killed her!” Wang Yu cupped his fists and said, “Now we are chased by the Cross troops. Please let us enter the temple and ensure our safety.”
“You… You killed Saint Alice?” Leon looked at the box in shock then sighed, “Great, great, great! You may be young but you are so capable, you even removed my greatest enemy. Come on in.”
As he spoke, a ray of black light wrapped around Wang Yu. Other than the colour, Leon’s method was almost exactly the same as Saint Alice.
Just as Wang Yu expected, the key to this quest was the needed tokens to enter the two temples.
The Light Temple was obviously through Hermit’s cross and for the Dark Temple, it was Saint Alice’s head.
Only an unpredictable guy like Wang Yu, and not any other usual players, dared to not just attack a God-tier BOSS like Saint Alice but could even realise that based on what Hermit said, there was a need to kill Saint Alice in this quest.
What was being treacherous for survival? What was good intent? Wang Yu finally understood these…
Shroom Devil King saw Wang Yu enter the temple and realised she was not included so she quickly yelled, “How about me? How about me?”
“Then who are you?” Leon noticed her after hearing her voice so he asked after a pause.
Shroom Devil King quickly took out a letter from her chest area, lifted it and shouted, “The Dark Council’s elder, Cervantes, asked me to pass this to you.

It was a running quest but simply speaking, it was a mailman quest so this letter was her token for entry.
“Cervantes? I haven’t seen him in a long time. Come on in too!”
As he spoke, Shroom Devil King was also sent into the temple.
After the two of them entered the temple, Wang Yu sent Shroom Devil King an eye signal and whispered, “Complete your quest first.”
Although Shroom Devil King did not understand why, since Wang Yu asked, she did not dare to defy him so she went forward and passed Leon the letter.
Shroom Devil King’s was a simple running quest which was completely different from Wang Yu’s so after passing Leon the letter, she had already successfully completed the last round of this quest.
After completing the quest, the abundant reward made Shroom Devil King’s XP bar greatly increase. Leon nodded and praised, “Good job, child. It has been a tiring journey for you. I got this ore when I was younger and have no use for it now. Take it.”
As he spoke, Leon took out a jet black stone and passed it to Shroom Devil King.
“What an ugly stone.” Shroom Devil King was a girl and was used to judging by appearance so she grumbled upon receiving it then casually was about to keep it.
Just then, Wang Yu suddenly thought of something then asked with his eyes lit, “What is this?”
Shroom Devil King looked at it then said, “It is called Black Crystal but no matter how I look, it doesn’t seem like a crystal.”
At the same time, Shroom Devil King displayed the stone’s attributes.
Black Crystal: An unknown mineral with a secret force inside.
“F*ck! This is how a black crystal is made?”
Seeing the attributes of the stone in Shroom Devil King’s hand, Wang Yu’s eyeballs almost flew out.
Wang Yu knew that Black Crystals could only be gotten through quests but in his impression, only an S-grade quest could give such a precious item but who knew, it appeared in a simple running quest.
This game’s setting was indeed a mess.
Of course, Wang Yu did not know that though running quests were simple, it was difficult to continuously do easy things well. Furthermore, a 250-round running quest was almost as rare as an S-grade quest, plus there was a limited chance of getting the Black Crystal at the end.
Shroom Devil King was really lucky this time.
“Why? You like this?” Shroom Devil King observed the Black Crystal in her hand and asked Wang Yu.
“Yup!” Wang Yu nodded his head furiously, “I have been looking for this recently.”
“Take it!”
Shroom Devil King heard him then casually threw the Black Crystal over.
Wang Yu received it then said flatteringly, “You’re giving it to me? How… How can I just take it.”
Obviously, Shroom Devil King did not know how valuable but there was no such thing as a free lunch. If Wang Yu just took it, then…”
“Give it to you? You wish!” Shroom Devil King smiled and said, “This is your remuneration. Return the mercenary contract to me, you shameless one. Don’t think of getting away with it.”
Wang Yu, “…”
After Wang Yu returned the contract to Shroom Devil King, her quest was officially completed so she patted Wang Yu on the shoulder and said, “Alright, the quest is done. Let’s go.”
“Go?” Wang Yu smiled and said, “No hurry, I’m not done with my quest.”

Cultivating Earth [Hiatus]
[This fiction is on indefinite hiatus. I'm currently acting as a 24-hour caregiver for my step-father who had a massive heart attack. Sorry everyone!] Zhao Gang, after hundreds of thousands of years cultivating, has finally reached the penultimate threshold. He is ready to ascend to the level of True Immortal. Driven by the need for a place his enemies won't find him, Zhao Gang puts together an audacious plan. He has developed a revolutionary new formation which will allow him to ascend while on even the lowest planes. To avoid drawing attention, he has to choose a plane that is relatively desolate, however. He chooses Earth. Fast forward three thousand years. Zhao Gang discovers what his work has wrought - a cultivation-free culture that has delved the deep mysteries of creation - he can't help but think how this tiny little planet devoid of natural energy could affect the course of all creation. There's only one problem. For that to happen, he has to succeed in cultivating Earth. Notes: Chinese names should be ignored in the social context - they don't mean anything. Sorry for slaughtering such a beautiful tradition. This novel starts off slower than most. If the slow-roll isn't your thing, you might want to give this a pass. If it's not for you, I understand. Also, releases may be broken up into smaller chunks. The goal is 5k words, but definitely more than 4k. If you see a short release, be aware that more is probably coming. I'll be honest and say that I'm struggling with each new scene, if only because I want to balance the scope of vision with good pacing. I hope the work I put into it is worthwhile.
