《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1128. Soul Seizing Sickle

Because there were no summoner jobs, every job had their own unique job skill system. To be able to summon two minions to fight for you was considered advantageous.
Looking at the attributes, the summoned departed spirits were only average. As compared to the Demons of War casually summoned by Spring Halo, they were clearly inferior.
After all, Spring Halo’s skill was considered to be one of its kind: A Shaman’s ultimate and legendary skill.
However, this departed spirit summoning skill had one extremely unique characteristic. That was assimilation…
Wang Yu was not unfamiliar with this professional term. Previously, Spring Halo’s skill was called the [Call of the Abyss]. After which, it assimilated with the [Orphans of War] to become what it was now.
If this was assimilated together with it, it would definitely evolve into a much more powerful skill.
Besides, the other book [Departed Spirits Explosions] was slightly more ordinary. This was because when a Shaman reached level 20, they would learn a skill called [Exploding Corpse] which was roughly the same as this skill.
[Exploding Corpse] was a skill that came into play once the enemy was about to kill its target. Once the target died, they would explode on the spot to hurt everyone around itself. [Departed Spirits Explosion], on the other hand, needed three seconds to execute it. Moreover, it required exploding the user’s own minions and comparatively, while it would cause more damage, there were far too many limitations. After all, there were too little summoning skills in the game and such plaything could only be considered a supporting skill to [Departed Spirit Summoning].
It wasn’t even as impressive as a level 20 skill.
Of course, how good a skill could be was ultimately dependent on who the user was… Ordinary players who learnt these two skills would at most use them as two attacking tools.
However, things would be very different if these two skill books landed in the hands of Spring Halo. It would be equivalent to adding explosive attributes to his minions. Not only could he use them as meat shields, but he could also even turn them into makeshift explosives at crucial moments.

“I want both of these skill books. Nobody has any objections, right?” Wang Yu took the skill books and waved them in front of the other three.
Wang Yu was considered to be a pretty generous person. Because Wang Yu put in the most effort in dealing with defeating these two BOSSes, he could reasonably choose anything that he wanted. However, Wang Yu believed that anyone who participated should have a say in this and that he shouldn’t take sole credit for everything. Therefore, he wanted to ask before he claimed something.
These two skill books were exclusive to Priests and especially suitable for Holy Priest and Dark Shamans only. The three of them were either Archers or Thieves so these skills wouldn’t suit them too.
Moreover, everyone was past the level 30-40 mark where they would be impressed by anything that was rare. As conventional skills of each job improved, players’ horizon would expand further. Therefore, these two skills were not really considered to be some peak grade skills and since Wang Yu wanted it, obviously nobody was going to fight him for it. In fact, they were even surprised as they asked, “Brother Bull, you only want these? Don’t you want to look at the others first?”
It couldn’t be helped because everyone there were ordinary players with a very different mindset as compared to Wang Yu.
Wang Yu shook his hand, “This is fine!”
“Then please do take it… If there are any more good items later, you can still look at it first.” Everyone nodded.
Wang Yu was not someone who would stand on any ceremony so after hearing what they said, he smiled and kept the two skill books. Following which he displayed the attributes of a large sickle.
Soul Seizing Sickle (Battle Sickle) (Obsidian)
Physical Attack: 300-420
Magic: 200-320
+55 Strength
+44 Vitality
-27 Agility
[Harvest]: Passive skill. Ordinary attacks will have the range effect and a 20% reduction in cooldown time.
[Soul Seizing]: Passive skill. Every ordinary attack will burn 3% of the target’s MP. At the same time, it will cause magic damage while regaining user’s own magic value.

[Fear]: Passive skill. As a weapon of the Departed Spirit Monarch, it had accumulated countless years of energy from departed spirits. There is a 15% chance of making the target enter a 3-second state of fear.
[Annihilation]: Active skill. Makes use of the tremendous energy of the spirits to inflict a fatal strike on the target. After killing the target, CD of all skills renewed.
Item description: Departed Spirit Monarch, Hasma’s carried weapon which had followed Hasma through all his fights. After death, Hasma refused to part so he was turned into a deadly weapon.
Job Requirement: Warrior, Knight
Level requirement: 75
Underworld equipment (unique talent): Curse +3
The sickle was one of the many war weapons. While it was not popular, the damage output was actually one of the highest for a weapon of its length.
This Soul Seizing Sickle’s physical attack could actually go up to 420. The main attributes were actually shocking high.
Additionally, the supporting attributes were relatively decent too.
[Fear], [Annihilation], [Harvest] were all effects that a Warrior couldn’t afford to lack. This was especially true for the [Soul Seizing] effect which helped to make up for the lack of MP that a Warrior usually had.
However, this level requirement of 75 took away a large proportion of their joy.
When everyone saw this sickle, they were amazed by its attributes but started shaking their heads in regret soon after.
But when everyone’s eyes fell on the last line of words, their eyes couldn’t help but light up.
Curse!!
It was actually the curse special effect!
The curse effect in > was one that made every player love and hate it at the same time. This was because a cursed equipment’s special effect was its ‘drop rate’!”
It wasn’t the drop rate of monsters but the players’ drop rate. Players killed by this cursed weapon would drop at least one equipment or tool.
However, there had to certain requirements to be cursed. The officials’ explanation was that there had to be sufficient killing intent and spirit baptism to be cursed. The most simple and crude method would be to use the weapon to chop someone up.
During a particular period of time in the past, there were plenty of players who desperately wanted a peak grade cursed weapon so they started camping at city gates to kill the newbies. However, one must know that the curse is a double-edged sword. While there was a high chance for others to drop their equipment, getting killed by others would result in a same possibility of drop rate.
Wang Yu was probably numb from all the killings ever since he started his journey in the Beginners’ Village. One could say that his hands were incredibly polluted with karma. Therefore, the Martial Artist Regret’s highest state of curse was merely +1. Because it was forged again, the current state of +1 was no longer there.
Evidently, leveling up the curse effect was not an easy task.
The higher the level of curse, the greater the drop rate. With a level of +3, the Soul Seizing Sickle was simply an exceptional weapon of the highest quality.
Looking at the curse attributes of the Soul Seizing Sickle, Mystery Observer started drooling as he immediately commented, “I want this weapon for ten thousand gold!”
The value of Obsidian weapons was around ten thousand gold in the market which was slightly higher than armour. However, because of the high-level requirement, Mystery Observer’s bid of ten thousand gold was not considered low at all.
Anyway, they would be selling it to others to split the money even if they choose not to sell to Mystery Observer. In fact, they would even be saving on trouble this way.

About the Author This is my first novel or any attempt to write something so I'm pretty much a newbie trying to pen down the fantasies rolling in my mind. English isn't my First language so brace yourself for some grammatic potholes. But I'm genuinely working on improving my English but it won't be happening overnight as it's a process, I guess. (for the time being, I'm trying to make it readable with some Grammar checking software) Moreover, I wish to improve my writing skills as the story grows and readers help in spotting mistakes or critics might turn it into a reality.
