《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1102. Popular Opinion Is Impeccable

On a usual day, Wang Yu’s daily routine was very regulated. He was about to go to bed today but he got up for this arduous matter. Even though he was a martial artist, it was inevitable that he felt tired.
After the City War ended, Nine Solitary Spears led his men away. Wang Yu finally could relax and logged off with the rest of the Quan Zhen Sect.
It was in the afternoon the next day when the news of Quan Zhen Sect taking down Sky Dragon City with less than ten people was spread throughout the game.
After seeing the news on the forums, the large guild’s leaders all felt uneasy.
Especially after hearing that Feng Yun Realm was the second player to be a City Lord, they had the intention to become one too. However, seeing that Feng Yun Realm’s city fell before he warmed his seat, their feelings were imaginable. After further consideration, they decided to put their City Lord dreams on hold.
Damn, they could take a city down with less than ten people. If these guys brought their players, no way they could win. Instead of making life better for Quan Zhen Sect, it was better to stay contented and lay low.
In Storm City, in the office of the third largest national guild, Endless Desert, their assistant guild leader, Endless Gale was looking at the news he had just received. Some gloating players told their guild leader, Desert Shade, “See, don’t wear a hat too big. This Feng Yun Realm was a nobody and yet, he dared to be a City Lord. Those thieves in Quan Zhen Sect are now after him. If it were us, they would have to reconsider their abilities first.”
“Hehe! You are thinking too much.” Desert Shade laughed and said, “Feng Yun Realm is not a nobody.”

“Oh? Is he an expert too?” Endless Gale asked.
“An expert? No, but you must have heard of Great Conqueror, right?” Desert Shade asked.
“Great Conqueror?” Endless Gale was slightly taken aback upon hearing this ID. He gave it some thought then said, “Is it the world’s richest man who said, ‘don’t use your annual income against my pocket money’?”
“Yes, that’s him.” Desert Shade said, “I heard that back then, Twelve Celestial Bodies were working for him.”
“So what!” Endless Gale was upset, he said, “No matter how rich he is and how many experts he hires, his guild is still unknown and can be taken down by a small team like Quan Zhen Sect. After all, the most important resource in the game is players.”
“How do you know that Feng Yun Realm did not have players? Don’t forget, Sky Dragon City still has Apocalypse to defend it.”
“Apocalypse?” Endless Desert’s players looked stunned and after a long while then they mumbled, “Did Apocalypse also participate?”
Apocalypse and Quan Zhen Sect’s animosity was not a secret amongst these veterans. Based on interests and logic, if Quan Zhen Sect attacked Sky Dragon City, Apocalypse would help Feng Yun Realm.
Feng Yun Realm’s guild was indeed not big but if anyone said Apocalypse was not big, he deserves a slap.
Apocalypse was the largest guild in the country’s server and had tens of thousands of players. With so many people, if they could not hold back Quan Zhen Sect’s ten people, these ten people were too scary.
“Yes, they participated!” Desert Shade nodded and said, “But not in the way you think. Apocalypse helped Quan Zhen Sect.”
“What? Did I hear wrong?” Endless Gale was first shocked, then mumbled, “No wonder. I was still thinking about how scary Quan Zhen Sect is. So Apocalypse helped them, but why did they?”

Endless Gale was getting more puzzled.
“Sigh!” Desert Shade shook his head and sighed, “This is how Quan Zhen Sect is scary…”
No matter how secure a fortress was, the scariest would be when it broke from inside. Everyone understood this logic.
If Quan Zhen Sect was just deceiving the other players to be betrayers, that was not too bad as normal players did not have a powerful backing and had to live suppressed by Sky Dragon City’s large guild without any glory, so it was understandable for them to rebel for rewards.
However, Apocalypse was definitely benefitting the most at the top of Sky Dragon City’s food chain and was Quan Zhen Sect’s archenemy. And yet, Quan Zhen Sect could bluff Apocalypse to fight on their side. This shows how scarily good these guys are at sowing discord.
At this thought, Desert Shade recalled those days in Termination Manor.
Back then, there was some internal conflict in Termination Manor but everyone still fought outsiders unitedly and not one another. However, after they offended Quan Zhen Sect, oil was added to the fire and the conflict turned into a messy battle, resulting in a torn ending.
Indeed, the human heart is the scariest. Thinking about Endless Desert’s reputation in Storm City, Desert Glow smiled bitterly and shook his head, saying, “About the City Lord issue, let’s put it on hold.”
“Leader, please no. Then when will we be able to be a City Lord?” Endless Gale was astonished.
“Popular opinion is indeed impeccable.” Desert Shade looked pitiful as though he was a politician, causing Endless Gale to look at him with despise.
Not just Desert Glow, when the other large guilds’ leaders heard that Quan Zhen Sect’s greatest helper this time was their longtime enemy, they understood that Quan Zhen Sect’s standing could not be replicated.
For a guild to be big, it had to possess the best resources and so, it was inevitable to exploit other players. By then, all Quan Zhen Sect had to do would be to turn those players against them and they would be swarmed in a battle with their own citizens.
If their guild could not grow, it would not be able to compete with other guild’s abilities. Then how could they be a City Lord? Bullsh*t! Even Nine Solitary Spears was willing to rebel and help Quan Zhen Sect. What else was impossible?
Hence, what they lacked was not a seal, not opportunity—they lacked someone who could take down the world… As for that person, it was our dear Wang Yu who had the respect of all the guilds in Twilight City.
However, Wang Yu earned the respect of Twilight City’s players not only by his extreme abilities. His personal charisma also contributed significantly.
At the very least, Wang Yu rarely bullied the weak and was very helpful. After Wang Yu joined Quan Zhen Sect, a bunch of notorious bullies, they became a lot more restrained.
Whether or not it is true in other main cities, at least in Twilight City, Quan Zhen Sect’s reputation now was different from their past notoriety.
Well, > was a huge gaming world and Quan Zhen Sect only had a few people. Even if they aggressively robbed for resources, they could never beat those large guilds with tens of thousands of people.
At that moment, even Wang Yu himself did not know that he simply wanted to teach Feng Yun Realm a lesson and yet, he made a name for himself again.
Of course, being well-known was something Wang Yu was used to already.
