《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 1060. Tricking Fearless

Although the members of Quan Zhen had their own day jobs, they were very punctual when it was time to play the game.
Everyone was online even before eight in the morning.
They were on the airship heading back towards Twilight City.
Wang Yu had logged off yesterday while he still was at the auction venue so he was still in Freedom City.
After the auction, there were much fewer players in Freedom City. Just the day before, Freedom City was teeming with hired mercenaries and many other players but it was almost a ghost town today.
The crowded streets were a distinctive feature of Freedom City so without the crowds, Wang Yu felt as though he was already back in Twilight City.
Wang Yu was not a local in Freedom City so he did not know that this was just the usual ebb and flow of the state around here. The local players did not feel out of place without the hordes of other players and carried on with their daily lives. Wang Yu quickly made his way into an alleyway since the rest of the Quan Zhen Sect was still waiting for him to enter the dungeon.
Dungeons provided a wealth of experience points and a high chance for players to find valuable materials to craft equipment. It was one aspect of the game that most players spent the greatest time in.
Since the inception of the game, Quan Zhen Sect had a daily routine of first clearing a dungeon in two hours. The players had their free time only after that was done.
Since Wang Yu had delayed them in the morning, they were only done completing the dungeon at 11 am.
After completing the last instance and getting transported out of the dungeon, Fearless stretched lazily and said, “Is there anyone interested in drinking a few pints with me…”
Before Fearless could even complete his sentence, there was a resounding reply from the rest, “Not drinking! Scram!” The players who were at the entrance of the dungeon were flabbergasted as they exclaimed, “This is the Quan Zhen Sect! Everyone, make way for them!”

Every player in Twilight City knew that there was always this weird conversation that occurred among the members of Quan Zhen Sect every morning after they completed the dungeon.
There was no way around this since Fearless was notorious for not picking up the tab after he drinks. This resulted in the rest developing a standard response whenever Fearless asked them to drink with him.
Although Fearless was rejected daily, he did not get too distressed about it.
Just as everyone was preparing to enter the dungeon to grind levels by killing BOSS, Fearless received an update.
He flicked open the notification and it turned out to be Feng Yun Realm who contacted him. “Brother Fearless, where are you at currently?”
Upon seeing the notification, there was a slight crease that formed on Fearless’s head, “There is no reason why he would contact me unless it was regarding the City Lord Seal. This is not right, shouldn’t he go and confront Iron Bull instead? Did he realise that we were the ones that robbed him last night?”
Fearless thought about it for a few moments before replying, “Grinding dungeons, what’s up?”
“En!” Feng Yun Realm continued, “Do you have gold coins? I would like to buy some.”
“Oh, so you want to buy some gold coins.” Hearing Feng Yun Realm’s intentions, Fearless let out a chuckle and steadied himself, “Didn’t I sell you two million gold coins yesterday? What do you need some more for?”
“F*ck…”
Feng Yun Realm received Fearless’ reply and his face darkened with rage as he gripped his fists tightly. F*ck, how could you possibly not know what I need the gold coins for?
Seeing Feng Yun Realm’s agitated state, Ratty quickly cautioned him, “Young Master, you need to watch your attitude!”
“…”
Feng Yun Realm was silent for a while as he gathered his bearings, “Sigh, Brother Fearless, do you know, the City Lord is not an easy position to undertake. Didn’t you know that Sky Dragon City has been heavily damaged? I spent a million gold coins yesterday to cover the repair costs.”

Ratty possessed a devious and crafty mind and he calculated how Fearless might think. Feng Yun Realm could not be too direct in confronting him. If not, Fearless would be easily suspicious about their intentions.
Feng Yun Realm’s depiction of his sorry state lowered Fearless’ guard towards him.
As expected, Fearless could not help but stifle back a laugh as he displayed a confused expression, “Oh… is that so? Fortunately, the seal is not with us. I cannot believe the system is so wretched!”
“F*ck, he is too good at acting!” Feng Yun Realm’s ire was once again roused when he saw Fearless blatantly lying in his face.
“Watch your tone! Your tone!” Ratty reminded him by the side.
Feng Yun Realm held back a stomach full of anger as he replied, “Yeah, how wretched can the system be! So Brother Fearless, how many gold coins can you spare me?”
“Hmm, gold coins…” Fearless paused and said, “I have already listed whatever I have online. Young Master Feng can go there and buy instead.”
Fearless was not lying, since after the auction, the whole market for gold coins was short in supply.
The members of Quan Zhen Sect would not have wasted such a prime opportunity to convert gold coins into RMB. Therefore, after everyone logged off last night, they proceeded to list their gold coins for sale.
They did not list their complete stash of gold coins so that they did not create excess supply that would depress the prices of gold coin in RMB.
Although Fearless knew that Feng Yun Realm did not lack capital, he knew that Feng Yun Realm did not want to spend excessively. If the two could come to an agreement, they could avoid paying the high transactional fees that came with the online platform. It was a win-win situation for both parties.
“Ah? Buying online? How about I give you the transaction fees instead, since you are such a good brother.” Feng Yun Realm’s response was accurately predicted by Fearless as he continued, “How about we meet face to face to settle this?”
“This… That’s not too safe.” Fearless deliberately showed some hesitation.
Although gold coins could not be stolen, without using the online platform, there was no formal mechanism to ensure that both parties in a trade would keep to their side of the bargain.
The amount that Feng Yun Realm was going to pay for quite a substantial sum. What if either party decided to go rogue? The system would not hold them accountable for their actions after all.
Seeing that Fearless had his reservations, Feng Yun Realm allayed his fears, “Brother Fearless, we have done business before so you know that I can be trusted. How about I transfer you the money first before giving me the gold coins?”
“Haha!” Fearless chuckled, “What kind of words are those Young Master Feng! How can I not have trust in you? The amount that we are transacting is not a small sum after all. As a common citizen, I am naturally cautious when it comes to this big sum of money. Since you have shown such sincerity, I cannot possibly be so stubborn on my part. However, with regards to the price…”
“As per the usual 1:70, beyond two million 1:60. What do you think?” Feng Yun Realm inquired.
“Hehe!” Fearless smiled, “Young Master Feng is indeed a person easy to do business with! It is settled then!”
“Sure thing!” Feng Yun Realm beamed back at him delightedly, “Give me your coordinates. I will head over there once I withdraw the money.”
Fearless replied, “There is no need for that. Since we have completed the dungeon, you can just pass me your coordinates instead. I can make a trip to your location since you will probably be done with your matters once I arrive. Everyone is pressed for time anyway.”

Cultivating Earth [Hiatus]
[This fiction is on indefinite hiatus. I'm currently acting as a 24-hour caregiver for my step-father who had a massive heart attack. Sorry everyone!] Zhao Gang, after hundreds of thousands of years cultivating, has finally reached the penultimate threshold. He is ready to ascend to the level of True Immortal. Driven by the need for a place his enemies won't find him, Zhao Gang puts together an audacious plan. He has developed a revolutionary new formation which will allow him to ascend while on even the lowest planes. To avoid drawing attention, he has to choose a plane that is relatively desolate, however. He chooses Earth. Fast forward three thousand years. Zhao Gang discovers what his work has wrought - a cultivation-free culture that has delved the deep mysteries of creation - he can't help but think how this tiny little planet devoid of natural energy could affect the course of all creation. There's only one problem. For that to happen, he has to succeed in cultivating Earth. Notes: Chinese names should be ignored in the social context - they don't mean anything. Sorry for slaughtering such a beautiful tradition. This novel starts off slower than most. If the slow-roll isn't your thing, you might want to give this a pass. If it's not for you, I understand. Also, releases may be broken up into smaller chunks. The goal is 5k words, but definitely more than 4k. If you see a short release, be aware that more is probably coming. I'll be honest and say that I'm struggling with each new scene, if only because I want to balance the scope of vision with good pacing. I hope the work I put into it is worthwhile.
