《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 966. Stabbed In The Back

“Second-order Hall?” Fearless scowled.
“Hmm, do you know who is he?” The rest turned towards Fearless as they saw his reaction.
“Nope…” Fearless shook his head in denial.
“Then why are you making a big fuss over nothing?” The rest stared indifferently at Fearless as they thought he might have an inkling who their enemy was.
Fearless quickly countered, “Nonsense, with our reputations, isn’t it a little strange that a nameless player would dare to make trouble for us?”
“F*ck, how shameless can you get!” Upon hearing Fearless’s words, everyone including Rolling Mario gave him the middle finger.
Quan Zhen Sect had a reputation but the most part of it was because of their notoriety. This negative preconception of Quan Zhen Sect has been ingrained into the players of >.
In the eyes of most players, Quan Zhen Sect was simply a guild that was just more troublesome to deal with than the average guild. They were definitely not invincible.
However, Quan Zhen Sect had grasped the most efficient method to farm cape fragments in the game. They now had a target on their backs.
Ming Du suddenly interjected into the conversation, “If no one knows about Second-order Hall, does anyone know Shady Glow?”
This Shady Glow player was the one that mounted an ambush on Ming Du.
“We don’t know…” Everyone shook their heads in unison.
The new game system in > has resulted in countless new expert players. It was completely normal for Quan Zhen Sect members to not recognise most of them.
Rolling Mario who was at the side said, “This name sounds a little familiar. Did a female Warrior called April Jade accompanied him around?”
“There is indeed a female Warrior, however, I don’t know her name.” Ming Du replied absent-mindedly.

The female Warrior behaved very manly and left a lasting impression on Ming Du.
“I think they didn’t run. That is the guild leader of the Abundance of Gold guild in High Heaven City. He is an old master,” Rolling Mario explained.
“Oh, it turned out that they are a couple…” The members from Quan Zhen Sect had a jolt in their memories.
They were a couple in-game but were also a couple in real life. Their synergy as a couple gave them a fearful reputation that was on par as that of Quan Zhen Sect.
Other than Wang Yu, most of the players from Quan Zhen Sect were hardcore gamers. It was not unexpected that they had heard their names before.
“Why did he not use his original name?” Ming Du flashed a look of disdain all over his name.
“What else could have been the reason? The name was probably already stolen by another player,” Rolling Mario explained.
During the beta period of >, there were almost ten million players playing concurrently. That two specific IDs would definitely be in hot demand by their fans.
“To think they would have finally joined a guild.” Fearless stroked his chin.
The husband and wife duo have always been playing the game alone. It was a surprise that they would join a guild after the implementation of the new game system.
Rolling Mario continued, “Yeah, the two have been doing pretty well for themselves. I have heard that their guild is currently the largest in High Heavens City.”
“Wow, what a high achiever…” Fearless looked a little stunned as he heard their accomplishments. He shot back, “How come you are so clear about their situation?”
Rolling Mario replied, “He came before you guys arrived to get some medicine.”

“…”
It was indeed true that the source of news and gossip mostly originated from these provision stores and resting places.
“Hearing what you have said, there should have been more than one guild that ambushed you guys,” Wang Yu concluded.
The players from Second-order Hall’s team could not have been from Abundance of Gold. There were some discrepancies in the descriptions of the players’ abilities…
There were only a few Holy Knights that could resist the magical bombardment of Ming Du’s attacks.
Of course, there was the case where the strength of these ambushers was wildly exaggerated by the Quan Zhen Sect members. However, it was still unthinkable that there could have been such a gap between the players’ abilities.
“En…”
Everyone nodded in agreement at Wang Yu’s assessment but they were a little bitter at how frank Wang Yu was… He plainly highlighted the immense difference in ability between them and their ambushers…
“It seems that there is a mastermind behind all of this,” Wang Yu shared his thoughts.
“???”
Everyone did not get his point.
“That’s absolutely right!” Fearless silently met with Wang Yu’s gaze and said, “Old Bull and I will take a look together.”
“What’s your basis for that?” Rolling Mario was mildly puzzled.
“Think about it for a moment, why are so many guilds mindlessly attacking us?” Fearless questioned.
“Don’t you guys possess a valuable and efficient way to collect fragments?” Rolling Mario continued.
“That is just one of the factors.” Fearless coldly sneered. “If we did not have any ties to them, how would they possibly know that we would be in Thorn City completing a mission?”
“This…” Rolling Mario was speechless.
Thorn City and Twilight City could be considered neighbouring cities and it wouldn’t be a surprise that their reputation spread here.
However, there was no reason why anyone else other than the members of Quan Zhen Sect would know about their whereabouts.
Their ambushers not only knew who were assigned to the quest, but they also knew the contents of the quest. It was obvious that had received some kind of tip-off.
After all, one needed to know the name of the players before being able to confirm their location through an NPC.
“Does anyone have a grudge against you guys?” Rolling Mario inquired casually.
As they heard his question, the members of Quan Zhen Sect broke out in laughter.
Fearless offhandedly replied, “That’s a wrong question to ask. Looks like you still don’t know us well enough. A better question would be who have we not offended?”
“…”
Rolling Mario was dumbfounded.
Shit, he forgot how notorious this bunch of people were. It was to the point that they did not even know who was plotting against them.
“What should our next plan be? We can’t possibly sit here idly…” Vainglory chimed into the discussion.
