《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 933. Being Plotted Against

“Bull, brother Bull… She is plotting against me!” When he received the system notification, Little Bookworm was startled.
There was room for negotiation between players but there was no such mechanism for a transaction between a player and the system. If the trade was two hundred gold, the player would have to give nothing less. In the event of insufficient funds, the system would just take whatever items a player had until the debt was paid… There was no possibility of default.
Little Bookworm did not even kill monsters so he definitely did not have enough gold to pay the librarian.
“Plotting against you is right. You better learn from this and not be easily bullied by these NPCs!” Wang Yu said as he threw over two hundred gold to the librarian.
Wang Yu continued, “Where can I find the Soul of the Gods?”
“You can find it on the Gods!” the librarian answered very precisely.
“…”
Wang Yu scratched his head and said, “Where is the Soul of the Gods in City of Hope?”
The librarian replied coolly, “Brother Iron Bull, there is no Soul of the Gods in City of Hope.”
“Brother Bull, he is playing with you!” Little Bookworm interjected.
“What do you know!” Wang Yu was fooled twice by the librarian resulting in an awkward scene. He once again asked, “Simba’s Soul of the Gods from Twilight City has landed in City of Hope, where is it now?”
“I am sorry, brother Bull. My scope of comprehension in restricted to the City of Hope.” The librarian’s answer allowed Wang Yu to understand that you get what you pay for.
Wang Yu almost out of ideas when Little Bookworm inquired, “Has anyone raised their realm in recent years?”
“There is! Your question has an answer but unfortunately, you don’t have enough money…” The librarian stretched her hand to ask for payment.
“F*ck, this question also requires a payment?” Little Bookworm fell back in exasperation.
“Yes! Your question…” Little Bookworm assets were depleted by four hundred gold.

“I…” Little Bookworm was about to curse but Wang Yu quickly covered his mouth and threw him to one side. He continued, “Pass me the list of NPCs that City of Hope has upgraded over these few years!”
“Definitely, brother Bull!” Upon Wang Yu’s instructions, the librarian quickly took out a pen and paper and wrote down the information that Wang Yu needed.
Wang Yu glanced at what was written and saw the name “Esther”.
“Esther? Who is this?”
Wang Yu and Little Bookworm looked strangely at each other with puzzled expressions.
Just when Wang Yu wanted to inquire further, he suddenly felt a killing intent pervade the room. In the corner of his eye, he saw an assassin flashed his dagger out.
“Not good! Assassin!”
Wang Yu’s instincts kicked in overdrive as he immediately executed [Rippling Wave].
“Boom!”
The [Rippling Wave] shot towards the assassin but missed its target as it destroyed the bookshelf that was behind him.
“Hua la la…”
The books on the bookshelf were all torn and tattered by the ensuing attack and both Wang Yu and Little Bookworm received a system notification.
“F*ck!” Wang Yu knew that he had fallen for the bait once he saw the system notification.
The library was a designated safe zone within the Magic Academy. Fights were forbidden in this area and if one were to violate the rule, they would be teleported out of the compound. Furthermore, one would be barred from using the safe zone for one whole day.
Seeing that someone had attacked him, Wang Yu had subconsciously defended himself and landed himself in a bad situation.
A few seconds later, Wang Yu and Little Bookworm were promptly teleported out of the Magic Academy back to its entrance. There was a whole squad of players that waited for them.
Wang Yu looked up and saw that this whole bunch were wearing equipment emblazoned with a wolf head insignia. Standing at the forefront was Blabber Wolf whom he had killed once previously. Wang Yu furrowed his eyebrows tightly.

Not surprisingly, this bunch were from the Mad Wolf Guild. They were really persistent in their chase.
Wang Yu surveyed his surroundings and found that they were tightly surrounded. Even the entrance to the Magic Academy was blocked leaving no room to escape.
At this moment, a warrior approached Wang Yu and Little Bookworm with a casual smile, “Haha, Brother Blabber, you claimed this man was using an automated humanoid external modification? I imagined him with three heads and six arms, I can’t believe they look this foolish…”
Wang Yu and Little Bookworm eyeballed each other and moved away from each other involuntarily.
Blabber Wolf growled fiercely, “F*ck you, pervert. If you don’t trust my words, go ahead and try!”
Not waiting for Five Wolves Six Colors to fight, Sanwen Cuttlefish interjected impatiently as he pointed at Wang Yu, “Try, what try? We have so many people, we don’t have to stoop to his level. Just kill him and be done with it. The brothers that have been killed by them are still waiting for us to take revenge!”
Sanwen Cuttlefish wasted no time as he raised his staff and a thick bolt of lightning fell from the sky and raced towards Wang Yu’s head.
“Boom!”
Wang Yu deftly moved one step to the side as he dodged the lightning bolt with ease.
“He sure has some skills. Go and kill him for me!”
Sanwen Cuttlefish was mildly taken aback when he saw that Wang Yu had evaded his spells but he quickly recovered and directed the rest of his players to attack.
Once the Mad Wolf Guild members received the command, the melee players got into formation to block all the potential escape routes while the ranged players began their assault from afar.
Wang Yu realised the odds were not in their favour as their opponent had overwhelming numbers. He had no interest in engaging them in a bloodbath and he was prepared to take off. Little Bookworm who was at his side wailed loudly, “Brother Bull, surely you won’t leave me to die?”
“F*ck…”
Only at this moment was Wang Yu reminded that he had a burden to take care of.
Little Bookworm had offended the Mad Wolf Guild, therefore, he definitely could no longer stay in City of Hope after today. If Wang Yu were to leave him here, he would suffer a fate worse than death.
Other people leveled up by killing monsters but this child leveled up by reading books… It is really not easy for him to survive.
Upon reaching a conclusion, Wang Yu made up his mind to protect Little Bookworm, “How could I ever do such a thing? This big brother is not such a person!”
“Brother Bull, be careful of your back!”
While they were conversing, the archers and magicians had fired off numerous projectiles towards Wang Yu. Little Bookworm quickly cried out in horror as he saw the incoming attack.
Wang Yu heeded Little Bookworm’s warnings as he quickly changed his right glove into a one-handed sword and his left glove into a weird-looking shield.
With his right hand, his sword danced about in the air and intercepted all the oncoming arrows. His also raised his left hand and blocked all the magic projectiles. The duo was not harmed in the least after the first wave of attack.
“This, what is this skill!”
The bunch of players were dumbfounded at this scene. Even Sanwen Cuttlefish was so startled he almost dropped his staff on the ground.
Although Sanwen Cuttlefish openly ridiculed Blabber Wolf, he did not have the intention of underestimating Wang Yu’s strength. He knew the limits of Blabber Wolf and surmised that only an expert could defeat him so easily.
For this reason, Sanwen Cuttlefish had decisively ordered his players to attack…
Sanwen Cuttlefish had full faith in his players. He had predicted that no matter how strong Wang Yu was, he definitely could not withstand this barrage of attack. However, the current situation was beyond his wildest imaginations. To think that Wang Yu was completely unhurt after the first exchange of attacks.
