《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 793. Full HP Kill

Tracking a person’s location with the wind was one of the most high-tier technique in the game itself. This is especially more so in first-person games whereby the player is unable to view his character from the third person’s point of view. In first-person games, the player would have to rely on sound in order to execute such a technique.
It was said that in the shooting games back in the early days, there were experts that could determine the enemy’s location based on the sound of their footsteps and determine the type of weapon being used based on the gunfire. Having this sort of talent as a player was equivalent to using a hack.
However, those were just rumours. Furthermore, the actual tracking with the wind technique would require both players to be within a certain distance of each other. Gone With The Wind was more than 30 metres apart from Spring Halo. Given this distance, even Wang Yu might not be able to execute the technique.
Unless, Spring Halo was tracking Gone With The Wind based on the sound of the arrow shot. However, a Shaman wasn’t an agility-based job class. Given Spring Halo’s movement speed, the moment he saw the arrow, he would have already been dead, much less having to hear the release of the arrow before dodging. That, too, was impossible.
Gone With The Wind was a true expert himself and had a wealth of knowledge and experience more than that of ordinary players. Thus, when he observed that Spring Halo was able to dodge his arrows so easily, he speculated that Spring Halo was tracking his location using the wind. However, after factoring the distance between them, he promptly gave up on that thought.
“Tracking with the wind?” After the other players from Team Raptors heard this, they started to panic. Tracking with the wind at a distance of 30 metres? Isn’t that the same as using a hack? Thinking up till this point, they all looked at Spring Halo as if they were looking at a monster.
Even the other players from Quan Zhen Sect were stunned speechless.
“What a powerful tracking with the wind technique. I’ve practised martial arts for so many years and yet even I would not be able to execute it that well.”
Wang Yu was stunned by Spring Halo’s performance. He had always thought that Spring Halo was someone with better than average calculational abilities. Apart from that, he was just a cunning old man. Unexpectedly, his performance this time had left even a martial arts expert like himself speechless.

A distance of 30 metres… A normal human would not even be able to hear at such a distance, much less track one’s location…
“Haha, Old Bull, you are thinking too highly of Brother Spring. This isn’t tracking with the wind! Don’t you see Brother Spring leaning tightly against the tree? He is calculating the angle of attack,” Fearless laughed and said.
“Calculating the angle?” Wang Yu asked, even more in disbelief.
“That’s right. He’s leaning against the tree to listen to the position at which the arrows hit the tree,” Fearless explained.
Spring Halo was a construction engineer in real life. Determining the point of impact based on the sound of impact was an ability that would be developed along with the profession… Furthermore, as someone with exceptional calculational abilities, given the arrow’s point of impact and the frequency of attack, it was easy for him to calculate the movement speed and position of Gone With The Wind.
Currently, the arrows that Gone With The Wind were releasing were equivalent to the sound waves emitted by a bat. Gone With The Wind’s excessive shooting of the arrows which were meant to cover up his movements were unintentionally revealing his own position as well as the position of the next arrow instead.
Fearless had known Spring Halo as a friend for a long time and knew Spring Halo like it was the back of his hand. Even if others might not be able to see through him, how could he not see it himself?
Of course, despite so, the calculational abilities of Spring Halo would have been sufficient to leave the audience gaping in awe.
“Brother Spring is truly awesome!” Ming Du couldn’t help but commend Spring Halo. He even addressed Spring Halo as Brother Spring instead of wretched Spring.
“Of course. Brother Spring doesn’t even use a calculator in his daily life… He thought that the speed of using a calculator was too slow. Such simple calculations are too easy for him,” Fearless added.
It was no wonder Spring Halo’s catchphrase was “Learn your mathematics well and the world is in your hands”…
Gone With The Wind, on the other hand, would never have thought that playing a game like this would require so much knowledge and he refused to believe that Spring Halo was able to track his position with the wind at a distance of 30 metres. Thus, he attributed the reason for him missing his target to the long shooting distance.
After all, logically speaking, if the shooting distance was further, the travel time of the arrow would be longer, making it easier for the target to dodge it.

“If I shoot my arrows at close range, he would definitely be unable to dodge it!” Gone With The Wind silently concluded, as he stopped firing his arrow and proceeded to move closer to his target.
At this moment, Spring Halo raised the corner of his mouth and smirked, “He took the bait.”
After thinking about it for some time, Gone With The Wind silently concluded, “Magic based classes would not have any abilities to increase their attack range. Factoring in the 50% increase in attack range once they reached LVL 40, the maximum attack range that he can achieve would be 12 metres. If I were to engage him at 20 metres, he would still be unable to hit me.”
Thinking up till this point, Gone With The Wind slowly began to close the gap between them while tracking the distance between them. When he was at a distance of 20 metres, Spring Halo suddenly stepped out of the tree.
“Hmph, you are seeking your own death!” Gone With The Wind immediately drew his bow back and activated the Archer’s LVL 40 ability [Heart Piercing Arrow], aiming at Spring Halo.
Resembling that of a shooting star, the arrow flew towards Spring Halo, carrying with it a bright glow. After releasing the skill, Gone With The Wind was secretly relieved. If this arrow managed to hit its target, Spring Halo’s HP bar would be reduced. Even if he was good at hiding, once the duration of the match was over, Gone With The Wind would be the victor.
However, when the arrow was still mid-flight, Spring Halo suddenly transformed into a cloud of black mist, causing the arrow the fly past his body and landing on the tree behind him.
“Over there!”
After turning into a cloud of mist, Spring Halo was able to accurately determine the location of Gone With The Wind having seen the arrow’s trajectory.
Gone With The Wind released a volley of arrows at Spring Halo seeing that his initial attack had missed. Seeing that all of his attacks were ineffective, Gone With The Wind immediately turned tail to make a run for it. The moment he turned his body however, his body caved in and turned green soon after. His legs felt as if they were stuck in a huge pile of mud and could not be moved at all.
“This, how is this possible?” Gone With The Wind was shocked beyond words. He was clearly 20 metres away from Spring Halo; how could he have gotten poisoned by him?
Confused, Gone With The Wind turned around to look at Spring Halo, only to see the appearance of a monster with a snake’s body and a human face. The attack on Gone With The Wind was done by this monster.
This monster was Spring Halo’s pet monster, Angela. Spring Halo’s attack range truly was limited to 12 metres. However, as a magic-based pet as well, Angela also had a 12 metres attack range too. Gone With The Wind’s position just so happened to be within the attack range of Angela.
Before Gone With The Wind could recover from his shock, Spring Halo had given Angela the command to transform. Soon, Angela transformed into an enormous python and dashed towards Gone With The Wind.
After getting poisoned, Gone With The Wind’s movement speed was reduced by 70%. Even if he wanted to run away, he couldn’t. In his panic, he frantically released another volley of arrows at Angela.
Angela was once a BOSS, even though her stats were wiped clean and reset, it wasn’t that easy to take her down.
Braving the oncoming arrows, Angela continued her dash towards Gone With The Wind. With a twist of her huge body, Gone With The Wind was bound in her coils.
After getting wrapped up by Angela’s body, Gone With The Wind could not move his entire body, apart from his mouth. At this moment, Spring Halo had calmly arrived at the scene and started throwing abilities at Gone With The Wind.
As an Archer did not have much HP to begin with, Gone With The Wind soon turned into a white light after Spring Halo began devastating him with his poison. Spring Halo, on the other hand, still had full HP.
Full HP kill!!
After witnessing this scene, everyone was left speechless.
In terms of both job classes and location of the battlefield, Gone With The Wind had an overwhelming advantage over Spring Halo. Who would have thought that the end result of the match would be so unexpected?
Everyone could imagine thousands of scenarios in which Gone With The Wind would emerge victorious in that match, but never would they have thought that the victor of that battle was actually Spring Halo. And it was a full HP kill no less.

Starlight Antiquities
There is a place in the galaxy that deals in antiquities of all kinds, human and non-human alike. Its inventory of artifacts is colossal as is its inventory of mercs who they hire to acquire any artifact a client may wish that is yet to come into their possession. The ill-reputable business is constantly rubbing against the changing tolerance of the Union's government, and there are many security officers who would love nothing better than to vaporize the whole place with its owners inside. Yet, there are many tasks that nobody can do better, especially in the vastness of deep space where Union law is worth less than the energy needed to display it. One of its jobs involves finding an artifact that may not only hold the future of the human race but may also disturb the balance of the whole galaxy. *** While waiting for the next season of Mandalorian and the Witcher, and rewatching Firefly for the gazillionth of time, I decided to write this space-based series. The series has some litRPG elements in it, but it does not read like one. So, you won't run into any blue screens here. Yet, I wanted to use litRPG to give another dimension to this whole story and make it as unique as possible. This is a work-in-progress. Hope to keep on improving and fixing my mistakes as I go along.
