“Is Team Raptor the first one playing? F*k! This match is going to be interesting.”
“That’s right. Everyone in Team Raptor are top tier masters in their own rights. This team called A Murder Of Crows is pretty unlucky. It was not an easy road to get to the top hundred and yet they had to meet such a strong team in the first round.”
“What nonsense top hundred. Even if A Murder Of Crows was ranked top ten in Twilight City, they would not even reach the top hundred in War God City.”
The players from War God City were furiously analysing the opponent of the Team Raptor. As they were all locals of War God CIty, they were very familiar with the players from Team Raptor… Team Raptor was a team that even professional teams dare not underestimate. This showed the immense disparity between them and the ordinary players from Twilight City.
The players from Twilight City heard the negative discussion about A Murder Of Crows and they were quite unhappy. They grumbled, “The host city always have a sense of superiority over the others, even a team like that could make them so aggressive… I am also not too sure about the team from Twilight City that is about to compete… Hopefully, they don’t lose too badly.”
“Don’t worry too much, as long as there are no accidents, Twilight City will not lose,” a player at the side chimed in at the discussion.
The players from Twilight City replied, “Don’t mess around already. Their opponents are Team Raptor.”
Team Raptor was a well-known team in the only gaming circle, they were often looked upon as comparable to professional teams. While the team name of A Murder Of Crows sounded so horrible in contrast. The words the player at the side said were mere words of consolation. Although the players from Twilight City wanted to wholeheartedly cheer for the team that came from their city, deep down the knew the reality of the situation.
The player at the side replied with a secretive smile, “Hehe, you guys may not know. I have been following the competition and A Murder Of Crows is truly the real deal. You guys will see for yourselves in a moment.”

“A real deal? Are they a team from the Sanguine Alliance?” the players from Twilight City muttered in a low voice.
At this moment in the game lounge, Darknorth Fisher was explaining the relevant information about Team Raptor.
“This bunch is not simple. Their boss is War Is Peace and he is nicknamed the Raptor King. The players in his team are top-notch…”
“Oh… Where do you stand against them?” Wang Yu questioned Darknorth Fisher.
Darknorth Fisher continued saying, “In the past, I was definitely stronger than them. They even offered me a special position in their team but I refused. However, I am not too sure of their standards now… I feel like they definitely would not be weaker than me.”
“So it is this way…” Wang Yu rubbed his chin deep in thought and said, “Should I go up first?”
Fearless interjected, “Don’t spout nonsense. How can we send our trump card up first? This is only the first round. Let’s just see what their abilities are first…”
After a round of discussion, Quan Zhen Sect finally decided on the first competitor.
Since a Priest was not suited for combat and a Shaman was also not suitable for individual PVP. Furthermore, Wang Yu and Yang Nuo were overly powerful. It was settled upon that Little Chicky, Frost Blade, Boson, Little Crotchy and Darknorth Fisher were the ones to participant in this round.
The four other than Frost Blade were close-combat fighters and their standards were all about that of Darknorth Fisher. It was a good representation of the fighting strength of Quan Zhen Sect.
Vainglory was up for the first match. Although this guy was very strong, he was still young and inexperienced. Consequently, his battle tactics were not up to par.
Vainglory had no qualms about going up first. He even thought that he was assigned to go up first so that he could claim the limelight.
After the five players from each team were confirmed, the two teams were simultaneously transferred to the stadium.
Under the gaze of hundreds of thousands of spectators, the scene of both team flags fluttering in the wind attracted the attention of the everyone watching. This was especially so for the Bull 13 team flag of the Quan Zhen Sect.

“The f**k, this team is way too arrogant! Their team flag is way too provocative.”
“Hahaha, Bull 13, what an innovative name.”
“Barring any unexpected events, even if Team Raptor were to win, their limelight would be stolen by Quan Zhen Sect… Haha.”
As the heard the musings from the audiences, the bunch from Quan Zhen Sect all wanted to hide their faces in embarrassment. There was Wang Yu who was still smiling widely saying, “Look at this. There are people with actual good taste, unlike you guys.”
“…” The rest all further buried their heads in shame.
Next up was the map selection. Since Team Raptor was the home team, they had priority in selection.
The map chosen was actually just an elevated platform!
Upon seeing this map, the spectators were flabbergasted.
The map that was chosen was similar in size to that of a boxing ring. It had quite a small area and was devoid of any obstacles. It was the most exposed map that was available.
One would have thought Team Raptor would have chosen a more expansive map like those in Mario Kart. But who knew that they were so overwhelming with confidence that they chose a map with such a small combat area.
The side of Quan Zhen Sect was not at all alarmed by the choice of map as most of the competing players relied on close combat. They even held the advantage in a small map.
Both sides were transported straight into the map.
The first person on the opposing side of Quan Zhen Sect turned out to be War Is Peace.
“F**k! It’s Lord Seventh. Lord Seventh is first to go on stage.” Everyone from War God City was bursting uncontrollably with excitement.
The strong preying on the weak was a rule of survival in the online gaming circle. Except for those guilds that were funded by rich companies, players relied on the individual strength to survive in the treacherous dog eat dog society.
War Is Peace did not just rely on his savvy business mind to reach his current position. Instead, what he truly relied on to get to the top was his indisputable combat strength.
The only one that had sparred with War Is Peace before was Darknorth Fisher. Darknorth Fisher appraisal of War Is Peace strength could be described in one word – unfathomable.
As Quan Zhen Sect saw that War Is Peace was the first competitor, they were momentarily stunned, “The hell, they really sent out their ace in the first round.”
Darknorth Fisher was in a state of confusion, “What is Seventh Brother up to this time? Is he trying to show off his might and scare us?”
At this point, Vainglory had already made his way up to the battle platform and stood opposite to War Is Peace.
Facing a youngster, War Is Peace let out a small grin and said, “You are indeed a young hero. Seeing that you are so young, surely you are still schooling?”
Little Chicky had a temperament that did not fear anyone he immediately retorted, “Hey, aren’t you already at retirement age? Why are you wasting your life playing online games.”
“Hey, you little punk.” War Is Peace returned Little Chicky words with a smile as he steadied his body into a battle stance. His legs drove into the ground and he bolted immediately towards Little Chicky. War Is Peace roared, “I am not your opponent when fighting with words but how about we try martial arts?”
“Huh? Bridging hands? This old man is quite interesting.” As Wang Yu saw War Is Peace’s hand movements, he rubbed his chin in delight.
“He is also proficient in martial arts?” Everyone was shocked by Wang Yu’s brief analysis.
Wang Yu replied, “I guess it is considered… However, he is pretty ordinary in terms of martial arts. It is probably the same standard as Little Chicky.”

There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!

The Intelligent Ogre (Dropped for remake)
This novel is having a remake I will have it up soon. I decided to have a remake because when I read my story again it felt like I tried too hard to make it understandable (low English level) for all yet it just looked bad. So, I decided to start over and add a new beginning, characters descriptions, etc. Even the plot and system I made was changed. I hope to see you there.
