《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 750. Flying Sky Fortress

“Erm… I can’t decide if we should talk or not…” Tuo Bayuan did not turn him down but did not agree either. He replied with great hesitation.
The job changing quest for a Hero job was not a small deal in the game. Tuo Bayuan was just a small team leader so he did not have the decision-making power.
He much less dared to reject the offer as Wang Yu had just instantly killed a Guardian. Heavenly Fiend Alliance wanted to catch Peak of Perfection, an Assassin, so they sent melee players to suppress the Assassin. In such a short distance, no one dared to take on such a scary person.
Wang Yu said, “I know you can’t decide. Bring me to your leader and I will talk to him.”
“Our leader?” Heavenly Fiend Alliance heard Wang Yu and were shaking in fear, starting to feel uneasy.
Was he going alone? This dude obviously looked down not only on those there but the entire Heavenly Fiend Alliance… How insane was he?
Just as Tuo Bayuan did not know how to reply him, Wang Yu grabbed another Assassin who wanted to sneak up on him and threw him on the ground, stepped on him, then asked Tuo Bayuan, “So? Any problems?”
Seeing the Assassin on the ground, the Heavenly Fiend Alliance was in fear.
With one fist, and a Guardian was down, empty-handed and he could grab an Assassin. Who exactly was he? Sin City had a lot of experts but who knew they were so well-trained?
“No, none. I will inform our leader now.” Tuo Bayuan said panickingly, then opened the friends tab and looked for Heavenly Fiend Alliance’s leader, Long Chengfei, and sent a message, “Leader, are you there?”
Peak of Perfection saw how Heavenly Fiend Alliance were in fear. He was stunned and deeply shocked by Wang Yu’s overwhelming strength.
In the past, Peak of Perfection thought that the smartest people were the strongest but now, he finally understood that intelligence could only be used to prevent fights but strength could make the enemy instantly become a friend… Victory without a fight was the best.

…
Heavenly Fiend Alliance’s leader Long Chengfei was a top legendary figure of the online gaming community. It was said that he was a soldier with impressive abilities, great discipline and strong sense of justice. His masculine image attracted countless fans and he had even been a spokesperson for several gaming companies.
Heavenly Fiend Alliance’s core players were all retired soldiers with outstanding abilities too. When they just debuted, they even won three consecutive years of the Professional League as the world champion. Long Chengfei even won the Most Valuable Player amongst professional players.
Rumours has claimed that when Heavenly Fiend Alliance was at their strongest, even the top guild, Termination Manor, could not match up to them.
The computer competitions back then were mainly for games which used keyboards and mouses, and the competitors were mainly youths. Long Chengfei and the rest were older but as the younger generation was not able enough, none of them was Termination Manor’s match.
After Termination Manor’s peak for a few years, they went downhill until now, they could not even pass the preliminary round of the Professional League. Although they were a veteran guild, they did not have the prestige older guilds should have. By now, those in Heavenly Fiend Alliance were either a bunch of old people or their diehard fans… However, they had a pretty strong bond… It was part of their guild culture.
However, with the appearance of >, it gave Heavenly Fiend Alliance the opportunity to survive. Although these old men’s hands’ control were deteriorating, their bodies were still very fit and they were soldiers. Once the game server was launched, they had been doing well and seemed to be making a comeback.
At that time, Long Chengfei was at a dungeon with a team when he saw Tuo Bayuan’s message. He frowned and replied, “Mop, how many times have I told you, just go straight to the point. Don’t ask if I’m here! Did you get the token?”

“Erm…” In the face of Long Chengfei’s imposing manner, Tuo Bayuan was afraid. Hearing what Long Chengfei asked, he began to panic.
“Answer me, yes or no!” Long Chengfei has retired for so many years but his soldier charisma was still so strong.
“No!” Tuo Bayuan said.
“Then why are you looking for me?”
Tuo Bayuan replied, “Someone is standing up for Peak of Perfection.”
“Kill him! Do I still need to teach you this?” Long Chengfei was annoyed as Peak of Perfection’s animosity with Heavenly Fiend Alliance was severe. Although Heavenly Fiend Alliance was no longer as strong, they were still not to be trampled on.
“An expert, a top expert. We can’t stop him. He said he wants to speak to you. We are already at Flying Sky Fortress.”
“Oh, wait for me at the Fortress’ headquarters,” Long Chengfei replied simply.
“Our leader asked you guys to wait in front of the Fortress.” Tuo Bayuan pointed at the checkpoint not too far ahead between the two factions and told Wang Yu.
“Don’t go. That’s Heavenly Fiend Alliance’s headquarters. They must have bad intentions.” Before Wang Yu agreed, Peak of Perfection spoke first.
Tuo Bayuan gave a cold smile, “Huh, Despicable Perfection, don’t you know what kind of people we are? Do you think we are like you?”
“…” Peak of Perfection heard him and his face turned red, without rebutting. Seems like Heavenly Fiend Alliance’s reputation was indeed pretty good.
Wang Yu smiled and said, “Go into [Stealth] and wait at the city. I’ll go with them, don’t worry. Even if this can’t be settled, I have another way to help you complete the quest.”
Peak of Perfection said, “Then can’t we just use the second method? Why waste your saliva on these people?”
Wang Yu shook his head and said, “It is still challenging for me to take on so many people.”
“…”
Peak of Perfection heard Wang Yu’s second method and was speechless.
F*ck! This dude’s killer move was actually to confront them… It was hard to agree with this method.
“Alright, I shall leave first. You be careful.” As he spoke, Peak of Perfection went into [Stealth] and went towards Cloud Mountain City.
With Wang Yu around, Heavenly Fiend Alliance did not dare to do anything funny. Seeing how Peak of Perfection disappeared once more, they could not do anything but they were not worried as they had deployed people at the quest submission place. Based on Peak of Perfection’s skills, he would not be able to get past them.
After Peak of Perfection left, Wang Yu followed Tuo Bayuan and arrived at Heavenly Fiend Alliance’s headquarters, Flying Sky Fortress.
Flying Sky Fortress had the same geographic role as Ironcliff Fortress in the game’s background story as a checkpoint between the two factions. However, Ironcliff Fortress belonged to the Light Faction while Flying Sky Fortress belonged to the Dark Faction. Also, Flying Sky Fortress did not have a strong defense wall like Ironcliff Fortress.
Flying Sky Fortress was a very normal checkpoint and was erected on the edge of the battlefield. Wang Yu looked down from there and not far ahead was Darkness Faction’s frontline soldiers’ camp. Even further ahead was the battlefield. Its murderous atmosphere was way stronger than in Ironcliff Fortress. Furthermore, it was right behind an army camp so it looked very much like it was ready for war.
“You guys really know how to pick a location for your headquarters.” Seeing Heavenly Fiend Alliance’s headquarters, Wang Yu could not help but say.
Tuo Bayuan proudly said, “Our leader said real men should experience battles.”

The Mystifying Diviner
Content warning, there is cursing in the story and there will be some pretty heavy sexual innuendos in it also. I don’t really plan to write gore, but there will be fight scenes. Fair warning to readers, it is a slow start. But hopefully it is enjoyable for you to read. Follow the story of an old chef who was lucky to be selected to become a system host. Well maybe not so lucky, because gaining the system killed him. He will be given a system that might not be the best match for him. While also having to deal with a snarky system monitor who might not be that helpful most of the time. He will also use his new found powers to enjoy life in a new younger body. What you can expect from this story is bad writing, poor grammar, and slow pacing maybe. Food, cooking, comedy, slice of life, fighting, exploring, tournaments, scamming and probably face slapping. I mean who doesn’t like a good face slapping? This is my take on a cultivation story, a lot of Eastern stuff will be crammed into with a mix of Western. This story started as a goal for myself to write 60,000 words in a month for NaNoWriMo. I was able to do it even with taking days off and not writing. I plan to keep writing the story, but at a slightly slower pace. I am aiming for 2-3 chapters a week now with about 4-7k words written. This is only posted on RoyalRoad currently, and I have no plans to change that for now.
