《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 707. The Desperate Student Wang Yu

The moment Captain Don’t Open Fire left with his men, everyone in Quan Zhen Sect stared at Fearless.
Fearless waved his hands and said, “Dismissed, dismissed! Go do your own things! Why is everyone staring at me!”
“Don’t…” Ming Du jumped over to hold Fearless’ neck. “Are you forgetting something?”
“What?” Fearless asked even though he knew.
“Nonsense! How are we going to split the 200,000?” everyone asked unanimously.
Two hundred thousand gold eh. This was a rare sight even for the wealthy players in Quan Zhen Sect. How could they let Fearless keep them all by himself?
“Split your head!” Fearless said, “Haven’t I given all of you money?”
“B*llshit! Since when?” everyone cursed.
Fearless replied, “Just a while back, each person 10,000. Did all of you forget?”
“10,000 per person?” Ming Du was slightly taken aback, “F*ck! Didn’t you say you will collect the remainders?”
Fearless nodded as he replied, “Yes I did say that… But given the character of you b*stards, you should know what you’ve done. Therefore, I’ll simply give the ladies the rest of the 100,000 to save any trouble…”
“… F*ck…”
Hearing what Fearless said, Vainglory’s face was filled with regrets. “I shouldn’t have spent that much…”
Even though the rest of them didn’t say anything, they had the same expression as Vainglory. Even Boson and Yang Nuo, two of the more honest players, revealed an awkward smile…
These fellas were indeed despicable. When they heard that Fearless was going to collect the remainders, they spent money without restraint…
A despicable person like Vainglory even bought a few stage props to enrich himself dishonestly… Fearless’ calculated act made it such that they spent their own money in doing so…
“How much do you have left?” Ming Du asked Vainglory.
“6,000…” Vainglory was on the verge of crying. Given the price of items in the main city, spending 4,000 gold in half a day was truly impressive. This kid really had the potential to be a wastrel.

“F*ck… You useless scum…” Ming Du sighed.
“And how much do you have left?” Vainglory asked Ming Du.
“3,000… I even bought a fashion piece for a girl that I like.” Ming Du was even more depressed than Vainglory.
“F*ck you!” In comparison, Vainglory felt much better now.
“There shouldn’t be a problem now, right? If there are no problems, I will deliver the money to the ladies,” Fearless commented.
Spring Halo interrupted at this point, “Wait, if the few of us split the hundred thousand, what about the other hundred thousand?”
“I knew you were going to ask this.”
Fearless took out the hundred thousand gold to give Frost Blade 40,000 before keeping 10,000 for himself. The table was left with only 50,000.
“See that? 40,000 is used to rebuild the guild and the 10,000 is mine!” Fearless divided the money as he explained.
“What about the other 50,000? Why don’t we change it to RMB to sponsor an overseas trip?” Spring Halo suggested.
“Great, great, I agree!” everyone commented.
Seemed like these fellas wanted to recover as much money as possible to make up for the amount they spent willfully.
“Just you wish!” Fearless glared at them before saying, “All of these are for Old Bull!”
“F*ck…”
Hearing that the 50,000 was for Wang Yu, everyone kept quiet.
The Quan Zhen Sect being able to attain such a clean and swift victory against Void Blade, besides Fearless’s tactics, was mainly because of Wang Yu’s ability to suppress the enemy.
If there wasn’t the final Wang Yu’s solo fight against thousands of them, Void Blade would never feel threatened by a guild of their size. Even if the Quan Zhen Sect was able to drag the war to crumble Void Blade, it would be similar to the destruction of Termination Manor back then. The price they paid would definitely be similar.
It was Wang Yu who single-handedly crushed the entire Void Blade’s confidence. He was the one who caused their collapse… Nobody would object to giving him a hundred thousand gold for his efforts, let alone fifty thousand.

After all, everyone here was absolutely convinced by Wang Yu’s strength.
Seeing that nobody spoke, Fearless continued, “Old Bull’s weapon is god-grade which is basically priceless in the market. My rough estimation is that the repair will cost at least 20,000 gold… In fact, he is only taking 20,000 more than you guys… You guys can accept that right?”
“Yes, yes…” Everyone nodded as they were puzzled at Fearless. Since when was Fearless empathetic of others?
His next sentence was enough to anger everyone again.
“Even if you can’t accept that, it doesn’t matter. I’m merely asking for fun. If you’re not happy, you can find Old Bull…” Fearless provoked.
“F*ck you…” Everyone pointed their middle fingers.
“Blockhead Fearless, why didn’t you make Void Blade pay for Old Bull’s weapon?” Vainglory asked.
“Little kid!” Fearless smiled as he replied, “Did you know that when things reach an extreme, they can only move in the opposite direction? 200,000 gold is the limit for Void Blade. If we extort them even more, they would be driven to desperate action.”
Captain Don’t Open Fire was indeed not lacking in money but a wealthy man wouldn’t be an idiot. Two hundred thousand gold was not a small sum. It was definitely enough for Captain Don’t Open Fire to change a territory to start hiring again.
If they really did force Captain Don’t Open Fire to the corner and they changed main city to start over, the Quan Zhen Sect was not that free to follow them across cities.
Fearless was just like that. Every time he asked for an amount, it was always just right. It was enough to cause a heartache but not enough to make them desperate. It was important not to cross a person’s bottom line.
“I see!” Vainglory scratched his chin and said, “Then I shall send Uncle Bull’s money over to him!”
“You!” “Why?”
Vainglory chuckled, “Hehe! Uncle Bull is much more generous than you. Wouldn’t it be sweet if he decides to give me 10,000 or 8,000 for delivering the money to him?”
“Tsk! Shameless…” Ming Du looked down on Vainglory before suggesting. “I can deliver it to him instead! I’m an upright and honest man who will not thirst for the delivery charge.”
“Iron Bull and I are brothers…”
“Scram! Since when can I trust you guys with this?” Fearless shook his hand as he kept the money in his bag.
As they left the restaurant, Fearless followed Middle Street to arrive at the Blacksmith’s shop. He saw Wang Yu, who was pleading at the NPC pitifully, with two short poles on his waist.
“Master Simba, please help me think of a way on the account of our relationship.” Wang Yu held gold in his left hand and wine on his right hand as he stood at the entrance of the Blacksmith’s shop.
“I really cannot help you with this. If you continue acting like this, I might even quit alcohol…” Simba was really annoyed with Wang Yu’s pleading. Otherwise, why would a drunkard mention anything about quitting alcohol?
Wang Yu’s face was truly filled with desperation. Initially, Wang Yu wanted to find a way to fix this weapon which was why he came to find Blacksmith Simba. After all, this old man was the most impressive blacksmith NPC Wang Yu knew.
Who knew that Simba actually said that he couldn’t do it…
One must know that during normal circumstances, these intelligent NPCs would think of nothing but personal gain at the sight of money. However, Wang Yu tried every method to convince to help and even took out Simba’s favourite wine to tempt him. Even so, this old man was still reluctant to help.

Glitched! Uplift Arc
[Winner of the April 22 Royal Road Writathon Challenge] In 2202 the System reached Earth. Thankfully it had learnt from previous uplifts and implemented an introductory arc to acclimatise the new participants rather than chucking them in the deep end. The previous practice of just dumping unsuspecting beings into a System designed for the growth of the multiverse had led to catastrophic and sub-optimal results. The return on investment was abysmal. That old trope was so over-cooked - after nearly extinguishing itself through negative returns new policy was required. That was 356 trillion local years back. Now over 5600 successful uplifts had joined the ranks of the multiverse. But the System was always learning, always growing. Still there were glitches. Mostly minor. Mere irritants really. Sometimes even they were catalysts, triggering a fresh expansion. Soon the System would understand why. Our Earth was 7912th. - Ascend - Battle - Challenge - Dominate - Expand - Gro... - Glor... - Where’s the eff word? - Glitch... File corrupted. ---END SYN---
