《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 680. The Best Boss In The Scene

“Warflag, it’s you?!” Sanguine Thorn lifted his head to look at Sanguine Warflag, before giving him an awkward laugh.
“I thought you said that you retired… you, you b*stard!” When Sanguine Warflag realised it was Sanguine Thorn, he was at a loss for words.
When Sanguine Wolf left for another guild, Sanguine Warflag was not surprised. This was because Sanguine Wolf was a new expert in the Sanguine Alliance who had yet to develop feelings for it.
When Sanguine Rain left for another guild, Sanguine Warflag was not surprised either, because Sanguine Rain had a shot in claiming the championship. He could not abandon his future just for a guild.
As for Sanguine Red, he was Sanguine Rain’s disciple. Following his teacher was to be expected as well.
However, meeting Sanguine Thorn here was clearly beyond Sanguine Warflag’s expectations.
Sanguine Thorn was a senior figure in the Sanguine Alliance and had been through countless battles with Sanguine Warflag. Even though his skills in the industry were not too high, it was not bad either. However, he was still a senior in the alliance and had a say in any alliance matters.
When Sanguine Thorn said he was retiring, never in his wildest dreams did Sanguine Warflag think that he would join Void Blade.
“That’s right, there’s nothing wrong with joining a guild to play in after retiring.” Sanguine Thorn smiled cheekily. He waved his dagger and started to enter into stealth.
“Trying to run?”
Seeing Sanguine Thorn trying to enter into stealth, Fearless hit Sanguine Thorn on the butt with his rod, disrupting his skill.
Sanguine Thorn glared at Fearless, promptly activating [Haste] and dashing towards Fearless.
Fearless swiftly threw a wine cup at Sanguine Thorn. Sanguine Thorn used his dagger to smash the cup into many pieces and sneered, “Hah, resorting to such tricks…”
“Intentional damaging of private property, pay up!”
Without giving Sanguine Thorn a chance to finish his sentence, the boss of the restaurant dashed forward, pinning Sanguine Thorn down.
Fearless was a Holy Priest that specialized in healing and single unit control skills.
Seeing Sanguine Thorn caught, Fearless threw a [Holy Flame] at him and began his incantations. After which, he started hitting Sanguine Thorn’s head.

Priests had very low physical strength. After hitting him on the head a few times, Sanguine Thorn had already paid up while bearing the pain, and escaped the restrictions on him. Upon seeing this, Fearless activated a [Holy Skill] towards Sanguine Thorn.
Holy Skills could inflict holy damage onto the target. Although their damages were not high, they had very effective effects and could cause the target to fall asleep for 5 seconds.
After Sanguine Thorn fell asleep, Fearless raised his staff and continued hitting him. When a player gets hit while asleep, he wakes up immediately. When Sanguine Thorn woke up, Fearless threw another wine cup at him.
Once bitten twice shy, Sanguine Thorn no longer used his dagger to block it. Instead, he allowed the wine cup to smash against his body, thinking that he would not get caught for it this time. Unexpectedly, the boss of the bar once again appeared and caught Sanguine Thorn, “Intentional damaging of…”
“What? On what grounds?!”, Sanguine Thorn exclaimed. Sanguine Thorn spent most of his time grinding levels with his team and had never been to the restaurant before. He had no idea why the boss still caught him.
“Are you dumb? Whoever caused it to break should pay up for it!”. While speaking, Fearless took up his staff and resumed hitting Sanguine Thorn on the head.
At the end of the day, Sanguine Thorn was still a renowned expert. Continuously getting hit on the head with a staff was an insult to his pride and drove him mad.
“Damn it, you sneaky b*stard! I’ll definitely kill you today!” Sanguine Thorn bellowed, as he took out some money to escape the boss’s clutches.
Priests had very low damage output and wore cloth armour. Unlike the Assassins, they were not meant for PK battles. If Fearless and Sanguine Thorn were to fight, Fearless would not be his opponent at all.
However, Fearless was crafty and willing to resort to any tricks. By relying on his strengths and avoiding his weaknesses, he was able to put Sanguine Thorn in his current state, with his swollen head from all the beating received by Fearless.
The feeling of losing an opponent due to underhanded tactics, knowing full well that he was not your match, was definitely the worst feeling ever. And that, was what Sanguine Thorn was feeling at the moment.

After paying up, Sanguine Thorn immediately dashed towards Fearless.
Upon seeing this, Fearless waved his staff and immediately took flight, carefully landing near Wang Yu.
Sanguine Thorn could not help but shout, “Cheap b*stard, you dare to come over?”
“Why not you come over instead?” Fearless shouted back, unwilling to back down.
“You…”
Sanguine Thorn knew how good Wang Yu was and was afraid of continuing forward. Instead, he copied Fearless and took a wine cup, throwing it at Fearless.
Fearless smirked, promptly tilting his head sideways to avoid it. The wine cup landed on the floor and shattered to pieces and the boss of the restaurant caught Sanguine Thorn for the third time.
“I… Just you wait! I’ll make you die a miserable death you shameless trash!” After being caught for the third time, Sanguine Thorn no longer bothered with his image and began cursing at Fearless.
Fearless pointed towards Sanguine Thorn’s back and said, “Look behind you, you won’t get another chance!”
Sanguine Thorn frantically turned around, only to see Sanguine Warflag gloomily glaring at him.
“Warflag, what are you trying to do? This matter has nothing to do with you. You better not bring the issues related to the Sanguine Alliance into this.” Sanguine Thorn frantically said after seeing Sanguine Warflag’s expression.
Sanguine Thorn was sly. He knew fully well that Sanguine Warflag was the head of the Alliance and had to look at matters in the bigger picture. If Void Blade wanted to, they were definitely more than capable of rising against Sanguine Alliance. Thus, Sanguine Thorn deliberately reminded Sanguine Warflag of his backings and warned Sanguine Warflag against taking any actions.
Sanguine Warflag said with a cold smile, “This has nothing to do with the Sanguine Alliance. Boss Fearless and Quan Zhen Sect are all my friends. I can not possibly watch as my friends get bullied, can I?”.
“F*ck, I am your friend too aren’t I?” Sanguine thorn rebutted.
“No, you’re not.” Sanguine Warflag coldly said. He proceeded to place a restricting talisman onto Sanguine Thorn’s head and proceeded to use [Charge], [Stab] and finish off Sanguine Thorn with a swift chain of abilities.
“Heh, sorry for troubling you, Boss Warflag.” Fearless smiled and said, upon seeing Sanguine Thorn getting eliminated.
“It is a small matter.” Sanguine Warflag said, waving his hands. He then cautioned, “I think that you guys should stay low and hide for the time being, Void Blade is not an easy opponent to handle.”
Void Blade’s financial capabilities were definitely extraordinary. They were able to expand to such an extent in the time span of just a few months and even managed to poach four experts from Sanguine Alliance, amongst which included Sanguine Rain.
Sanguine Alliance was an old-school guild and their funds were all allocated for the combat squad. To deal with Quan Zhen Sect, they chose to rope in people because they had the capability to do so. Failure would not affect their development in any way. Moreover, the Sanguine Alliance would always publicly praise Quan Zhen Sect for being strong. Therefore, losing to them wouldn’t be embarrassing and others might even find reasons and excuses for their loss.
Even if they were considered useless, weren’t they still able to make friends with a strong alliance like the Quan Zhen Sect eventually?
All of the guild masters were smart in their own rights, none of them were ordinary.
However, Void Blade was in it for the fame and couldn’t care less about the resources and manpower needed to attain it. They would definitely fight with Quan Zhen Sect to the bitter end.
After all, Quan Zhen Sect consisted of slightly more than ten members. If any big guilds really wanted to eliminate them, it was only a matter of minutes. Furthermore, with an expert like Sanguine Rain under Void Blade, the top players in Quan Zhen Sect no longer had the upper hand in terms of possessing better individual players. Even if Wang Yu was in the equation, what can one man do against an entire big guild?
Instead of fighting it head-on with them, why not stay low and hide for the time being? Sooner or later, Void Blade would find a new target to pick a fight with…

Humans Must Adapt!
Humans Must Adapt is a First Person point of view from the eyes of slightly crazy and totally not a masochist MC. The setting takes place on a copy of earth with a different name. A cataclysmic event causes the native humans to be usurped from their natural place at the top of the food chain. Time has now passed, and the Humans have managed to settle themselves into mediocrity. But this is not enough.Note: I don't plan on including sexual content. The MC won't have an end game goal right from the start. Feedback is welcomed. The MC is a Tamer.
