《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 595. A BUG That is Not A BUG

“What…” The Dead Spirit City’s players paused for a moment and opened their quest menu. There was a stunning “10” behind the number of Light Faction players.
What was even more shocking was the “1” behind the number of Neutral Faction players.
“That’s impossible! We saw that Neutral Faction lad jump into the Dead Spirit Swamp!” The players who were chasing Wang Yu just now were in shock that not only Quan Zhen Sect was alive. Wang Yu was also alive.
After staying in the Dead Spirit City for so long, they knew very well what kind of place the Dead Spirit Swamp was. There was no way anyone could come out of it alive. Wang Yu’s survival made them realise that either there was a BUG in the system, or someone made external modifications.
“We even saw those people in the house turn into white light!” The players that saw Quan Zhen Sect disappear were unhappy as they had turned into white light and disappeared. They were in disbelief that they did not die. Did they know how to resurrect themselves?
Just then, a veteran player informed them, “Turning into white light does not only mean death. It can also be teleportation.”
“Teleportation?” everyone started discussing, “Could it be the Teleportation Scroll?”
After the veteran informed them, everyone was enlightened.
The use of a teleportation equipment made sure that Wang Yu did not die after jumping into the Dead Spirit Swamp and explained why the people in the wooden house suddenly disappeared.
“Damn these filthy rich bastard players!” Everyone starting raging.
At the moment, there was only one thing other than Return to Town Scroll that could teleport people, and that was the Teleportation Scroll. However, these two scrolls could only be controlled by Spatial Magicians. Both types were extremely valuable.
The Return to Town Scroll’s market price was 1000 gold coins per piece and the Teleportation Scroll was even more expensive at 5000 gold coins per piece. It cost 55000 gold coins for those eleven people. When converted to RMB, these were worth quite a sum of real money.

At most the guild’s level would drop, but they spent so much money to escape. This money could even buy a new guild. These filthy rich players really can have things their way!
Normal players always had a disdain for rich players who leverage on their wealth. Seeing that Quan Zhen Sect used teleportation to escape, their hatred for them deepened.
Of course, there were wealthy players in the Dead Spirit City too, but they were a small minority. Regardless of how arrogant they were usually, seeing how everyone was fuming mad, they stayed silent in fear that they would be implicated.
“Let’s look for them. The Teleportation Scroll teleports them randomly, so they also do not know where they are. We have enough time, we still have a chance. I don’t believe they have more Teleportation Scrolls.”
To the rich, having a Teleportation Scroll with them was for defence. If they had two, they were not just rich, they were stupidly rich.
In the quest scenario, if they returned to their city, it was counted as a surrender. Hence, they could not use the Return to Town Scroll. If they used up their random scrolls, Quan Zhen Sect would not have another chance to teleport. There was thirty minutes left. These tens of thousands of people could search through the entire Dead Spirit Swamp.
However, the Dead Spirit City players did not know that Quan Zhen Sect was extremely stingy and would definitely not buy luxuries like the Teleportation Scroll.
At the same time, Quan Zhen Sect was in a whole new place, arriving at the Ocean of Death. Seeing the Ocean of Death’s sceneries and the city below it covered by an invisible shield, everyone had the same expression Wang Yu had just now. Just like Wang Yu, a time bar appeared above everyone’s head.
The time bar was their oxygen value… Players who did not learn how to dive nor had underwater breathing equipment would have this.

Normal players’ breath underwater could last 120 seconds but Wang Yu was so incredible that the time bar above his head reflected 720 seconds.
“Here you are!” Wang Yu enthusiastically welcomed them after seeing them.
“Where is this?” Everyone asked curiously.
“Below the Dead Spirit Swamp.” Wang Yu said with a smile.
“Woah, you really jumped into the swamp. How are you alive?” Fearless questioned.
“Hehe” Wang Yu giggled then pointed to the Frog Emperor’s Heart on his neck then showed its attributes.
[Swamp Walk] (Active) – Possess the power of the Frog Emperor; dive into the swamp for 30 seconds, costs 200 MP, 60s cooldown.
“Pss, we didn’t know you had such extraordinary items.” everyone else exclaimed in excitement, “How can you bring us out? We are drowning!”
“Haha, follow me.” Wang Yu saw everyone panicking and laughed, then swam towards the invisible shield as the rest followed behind him.
Everyone followed Wang Yu to before the invisible shield. Wang Yu took out the shining blue Atlanta Key and placed it on a notch. An entrance appeared on the shield. Wang Yu and Quan Zhen Sect, along with the seawater, were sucked in.
The monitoring team’s Little Zhang saw what happened and said loudly, “Chief Hao, the Atlanta relic has been opened.”
“I know, I’ve been watching.” 9527 said coldly while staring hard at the people on the screen.
The other monitoring team members heard them and were shocked, “The Atlanta relic? That’s a level 60 hidden location right? Why is it already opened?”
“By chance. However, now the greater trouble is that they are still in the faction war.” Little Zhang said worriedly.
The Atlanta relic and faction war were two unrelated quests, but Quan Zhen Sect had messed things up, causing a BUG that is not a BUG to appear.
The Ocean of Death and Atlanta relic belonged to the side background story of the Dead Spirit Swamp, but no one thought that Wang Yu had the Frog Emperor’s Heart. He directly jumped into the swamp then used the leader’s authority in this side story to pull all of Quan Zhen Sect there.
This helped Quan Zhen Sect to hide in a place where all the Dead Spirit City’s players cannot find them. Even if they knew that Quan Zhen Sect was there, they wouldn’t have the special equipment needed to enter it.
There was initially no BUG in this setting, but Quan Zhen Sect did take advantage of a system loophole.
Usually, Little Zhang need not be so worried, but the faction war was ongoing. As the Dark Faction was cheated by the Light Faction’s people, it was unfair to the Dark Faction’s players.
As a GM, he could not intervene in the players’ brawls in the game. However, faction wars were the main attraction of the game. Faction wars helped players to realise the differences in their abilities and hence, spend money to buy equipment. With the mess caused by Quan Zhen Sect, the Dark Faction’s players were definitely victimised.
If everyone used a BUG to complete their quests, how can the game be profitable?
9527 calmly said, “Ignore them. We designed this loophole. In the future, we can remedy it. The main thing now is to watch how they can pass a level 60 hidden quest.”

Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
