《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 576. All's Fair In War

Thunderstorm City’s mainstream fighting style were spells. After United Alliance’s Magicians executed their spells in the first wave of attack, the Guardians raised their shields. They needed to protect the Magicians whose skills were in cooldown. At this moment, Berserk Heavenlaw’s spells had already descended on them.
Berserk Heavenlaw’s spells were powerful enough to kill over fifty of United Alliance’s players even though United Alliance was already in defensive mode.
The two sides started a war of magic spells. Because of how powerful each side’s Magicians were, every exchange of spells would kill over ten people. In just a few rounds, Hidden Lurker was the first to realise that something was amiss.
This fighting style was unique to players from Thunderstorm City. Hidden Lurker was well aware of how the crafty players from Quan Zhen Sect would usually fight. They would definitely not fight in such a rigid and inflexible manner.
Additionally, the opposing party was evidently stronger than his side. Since the opposing party was the first to attack, why didn’t they start the ambush with their spells? Wouldn’t it kill a lot more people from the beginning?
“This is bad! We got tricked again!” At the thought of this, Hidden Lurker was flustered. When he figured out the whole story, he tried to get his men to stop…
However, stopping his side from attacking in such a war would be suicidal. Therefore, Hidden Lurker got his men to retreat while continuing their attacks.
When Fearless saw that the two sides were going to stop attacking with over two hundred over men left, Fearless shouted in the chat, “Add fuel to the fire!”
Ming Du, Spring Halo, Ling Longmeng and Yang Nuo received the orders as they started attacking both sides.
Spells and arrows descended from the sky as it messed up the formation of both parties… Even more deaths…
At this moment, Hidden Lurker managed to contact Wild Thunderheart and Berserk Heavenly Thunder.
“Boss Wild Thunderheart, Brother Heavenly Thunder… Are you on the opposite side?” Hidden Lurker asked. There were not many strong guilds in Thunderstorm City. In fact, Berserk Heavenlaw was probably the only guild in Thunderstorm City with such powerful attacks of this calibre.

“It’s us…” Wild Thunderheart replied with a pale face. Wild Thunderheart felt something was amiss when he was attacking, but he didn’t expect the opposing party to be United Alliance.
“Ah?” Berserk Heavenly Thunder asked, “You guys are on the other side?” Berserk Heavenly Thunder finally realised what was going on after Hidden Lurker’s question.
“Hurry up and stop the attacks! This is a complete misunderstanding and we were tricked…” Hidden Lurker cried out for his men to stop attacking. At the same time, Wild Thunderheart and Berserk Heavenly Thunder ordered their men to halt…
When both parties ceased fire, the pink fog surrounding the Berserk Heavenlaw’s players disappeared gradually. They finally saw the players on the opposite side…
“Boss Hidden Lurker, how did this end up like that?”
Berserk Heavenlaw’s players almost cried when they saw that the opposing side was indeed United Alliance’s players. One thousand of them entered the forest together and the next time they saw each other, they were only left with tens of people. This feeling of defeat would only be understood by people who had been tossed from side to side and tormented.
Hidden Lurker was also on the verge of crying as he blamed himself, “It is my fault that I didn’t explain things clearly to everyone…”
This incident was indeed Hidden Lurker’s fault. He initially thought that their large force was enough to force the Quan Zhen Sect out. The reason why he didn’t inform the Berserk Heavenlaw’s players that the Quan Zhen Sect specialised in guerilla warfare. His motive was so that Berserk Heavenlaw would be exterminated by the Quan Zhen Sect and the United Alliance could step in to kill the Quan Zhen Sect. Who knew that Quan Zhen Sect’s strength exceeded Hidden Lurker’s wildest imagination?
“Hehe, is it awkward for me to appear at a time like this?”
Just as both parties were feeling awful about themselves, Fearless chuckled as he walked out of a bush.
At the sight of Fearless, United Alliance and Berserk Heavenlaw’s players were taken aback. When they recalled that this man was the leader of the Quan Zhen Sect, everyone shouted furiously, “F*ck you! You’re the b*stard behind all these!”

Following that, some of them cast spells and another Guardian even charged towards Fearless.
Fearless was calm as he took a step back and Wang Yu descended from the sky. Wang Yu’s one kick on the Guardian’s temple was enough to turn the Guardian into white light.
“Hiss…” Having witnessed this scene, everyone took in a deep breath of cold air. Even though the Guardian’s health wasn’t full due to the earlier war, the Guardian was actually wearing one of the top armour in the game. To think that he was dead after just one kick by a Pugilist…
While everyone was still in shock by Wang Yu’s kick, a few arrows landed and shot right through the Magicians who were casting the spells…
“There are people on the tree!” Everyone looked up and saw the four Quan Zhen Sect’s players on the tree.
One Magician, one Shaman and two Archers… In addition to the Pugilist and Priest on the ground.
Berserk Heavenly Thunder asked in shock, “Only the few of you are behind all these ambushes on us?”
“What do you think?” Fearless asked.
Hearing Fearless’ words, other than the minority who knew more about the Quan Zhen Sect, the wave after wave of attacks left United Alliance and Berserk Heavenlaw’s players dumbfounded… They would never imagine only the few of them were behind the mysterious attacks on them previously.
Everyone was convinced that they were previously fighting against an army of enemies…
This was especially so for Hidden Lurker and Wild Thunderheart. As they saw the morale of their men enter such a steep decline, they didn’t know what to feel.
How could they blame their men when they brought over one thousand men to fight the handful of them?
When Fearless saw the look of defeat, Fearless laughed, “It seems like you bunch of useless fellas no longer have the mood to fight. How about this? To minimise losses, we will be more direct. One on one. If you win, we will leave. If we win, you will let us through.”
When Berserk Heavenly Thunder saw that Fearless was merely a Priest that didn’t look very strong, he agreed without hesitation, “I’m not scared of you, loser!”
Fearless smiled as he said, “Old Bull, go teach them a lesson.”
“F*ck!” Berserk Heavenly Thunder spat out a mouthful of blood, “Aren’t you the one to fight?”
This Wang Yu could disappear and reappear every now and then. Additionally, he just killed a Guardian with a single kick. Berserk Heavenly Thunder already knew that this was a defeat for him.
“My body isn’t ready. I think my most useless younger brother should be enough to handle you.” Fearless replied shamelessly.
Everyone in Quan Zhen Sect stared at Fearless. He really dared to say something like that in front of Wang Yu.
“I’ll kill you!” Hidden Lurker saw how shameless Fearless was acting, so he instantly cursed. Simultaneously, he sent a private message to Wild Thunderheart, “Sudden attack!”
When Wild Thunderheart received the message and was about to order his men, he heard a commotion from behind. He turned back and all his saw was Boson and Crotch Lord entering his formation from the back.
Crotch Lord raised his shield to use [Taunt] to attract all the Magicians into one area. Concurrently, Boson swung his sword and executed [Tornado Slash] to turn all the Magicians nearby into white light.
“F*ck! They deliberately stalled for time just for this ambush!” The remaining Guardians turned around and tried to fight Boson and Crotch Lord. However, a wild Vainglory popped out from the other side and executed his [Shadows Chain Kick] to destroy the formation.
Frost Blade and Darknorth Fisher also appeared beside Wild Thunderheart and Berserk Heavenly Thunder. Each person struck once to kill the two leaders of Berserk Heavenlaw. Ming Du and Spring Halo’s spells also landed behind and after all that, Fearless was only looking at the last two survivors, Hidden Lurker and Nian Liuyun.

Dear Student, What follows is an adaption of the diary of Emmett Carter before his Ascension. While the decades during and after the Aurora Apocalypse are lost to us, the Ascended himself has allowed us to publish this work so long as we warn the reader that it may not be entirely accurate or present an unbiased viewpoint of the events. One should also note that the Aurora was in flux during that time and some things that were possible in the early days are no longer possible, especially with the advent of the Akashic record. Editors have included footnotes when possible to explain pre-aurora technologies or concepts and how they relate to current magical technologies. The contents of this work may upset readers. If you’ve ever been in a natural disaster, had a house fire, witnessed a murder, lost a loved one to violence, or have a strong opinion on the sanctity of life, please do not read this. It contains dramatic scenes of a world in the throes of an apocalyptic event. There are no rainbows and unicorns, only loss, uncertainty, and death while the survivors struggle to rebuild their lives. Updates Thursdays and Sundays for now. The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.
