Wang Yu was the one who personally activated this dungeon and he was also the one who understood the origins of this Heart of Darkness. The owner of this Heart of Darkness was the Sixth Apostle and for it to be absorbing magic now simply felt weird.

"Look! The monsters are leaving!"

Just as Wang Yu was still deep in thoughts, someone called out.

After the magic had been absorbed by the Heart of Darkness, all the monsters returned to their original state. It looked as though they were completely terrified by the magic because they immediately retreated without looking at them.

Wang Yu was shocked at the system notification but he started to suspect that he might be overthinking.

After they found the method to purify the magic, the squad maintained their formation as they moved forward. The Heart of Darkness was simply suspended above Frost Blade's head as it acted like a vacuum cleaner as it absorbed all the magic from the monsters around.

Maybe the Heart of Darkness was too intimidating because all the monsters who had their magic absorbed immediately ran away. The squad faced no obstacles or difficulties as they enjoyed a smooth journey to the peak of the peak of the Dusk Mountain.

Looking at this notification, Wang Yu finally managed to heave a huge sigh of relief. It seemed like there was nothing problematic with purifying magic in this way. He was indeed overthinking.

Helpless, Wang Yu only started chasing after the Heart of Darkness after hearing Frost Blade's shout. He missed the key moment and was too slow by half a second as the white light from the void seizing palm missed the Heart of Darkness. Wang Yu watched on as the Heart of Darkness escaped his clutches and flew right into the dense forest.

At this moment, everyone caught up with Wang Yu as Frost Blade looked at Wang Yu anxiously, "Old Bull, did you manage to catch it?"

"No…" Wang Yu shook his head in deep regrets.

"How did this plaything end up flying?" Vainglory asked out of curiosity and everyone had the same confused look on their faces.

Wang Yu replied, "Because the Heart of Darkness was the heart of the BOSS, The Sixth Apostle. After absorbing enough magic, it is bound to fly away. I am at fault, for not informing everyone about this."

"The Sixth Apostle's heart? Isn't the Sixth Apostle still alive?" Everyone found it hard to believe as they listened to Wang Yu's explanation.

Even though everyone was from the Light Faction, they understood their enemy perfectly well. In fact, they were all very interested in the backstory of the Dark Faction too.

In the backstory, there were seven Heroes and seven Apostles. Besides the mysterious Martial God, who disappeared, everyone else truly existed in several major cities in the game.

This was especially true for the Dark Faction. All seven Apostles had a firm belief in the Dark Faction. This was unlike the seven Heroes where half of them lived in the Neutral Faction and lived an idle and boring life. The seven Apostles were respectively guarding the seven main cities of the Dark Faction. If any Apostle died of an unnatural death or in a foreign land, the game's history had to be re-written.

In the backstory of the factions, it was clearly stated that the Sixth Apostle that was sealed up was merely a projection-like clone, who had part of the real Sixth Apostle's power. After the various mentors sealed with the clone of the Sixth Apostle, the real Sixth Apostle's strength was restrained which stopped his attack on Twilight City.

Therefore, everyone thought that this Heart of Darkness was merely a tool and never imagined that it was the Sixth Apostle's heart. After all, why would a clone possess the real heart of the Sixth Apostle right?

"I am not too sure about this. But this was the backstory when I first activated this dungeon."

Ming Du started adding in his thoughts, "Who knows? Maybe this Sixth Apostle has a few hearts?"

If they hadn't been through what they had been through, Ming Du's comments would have been brushed aside as a joke. However, after Di Kapia's quest, nobody really didn't know what not to expect from the system. It seemed like nothing was impossible in this game anymore. If Di Kapia could have two stomachs, the Sixth Apostle could have two hearts too.

Fearless replied with a worried look on his face, "If this is true, wouldn't the next BOSS be unbelievably powerful?"

The magic in the Heart of Darkness was overwhelming from the start. Enroute to the top of the mountain, the heart continued to absorb all the energy from the monsters around them. This resulted in yet another surge of magic in the heart… If the heart really went back to the Sixth Apostle, the thought of how powerful the Sixth Apostle could be was truly enough to make everyone shiver in fear.
