《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 436. Assassin Lyon

"This is a Thief's Quest Good so I doubt you will have any use for it anyway. I can buy it from you so just name your price."
Lone Vagrant Guest hesitated for a while before looking back at Wang Yu.
At this point in time, Lone Vagrant Guest didn't know that Wang Yu accepted the quest. Seeing that Wang Yu was unwilling to hand over the Heart of Darkness, Lone Vagrant Guest thought that it was because Wang Yu felt that he should be paid more for the huge risk he took… Lone Vagrant Guest was not lacking in money so he wasn't afraid that Wang Yu would knock him off for a large sum. Therefore, he directly got Wang Yu to name a price.
Wang Yu lamented as he displayed the description of the quest, "Did you really think I want this item?"
Not only was Wang Yu lamenting the fact that he was played by the system, he also felt sorry for himself because he lost an opportunity to earn a large sum.
"What the f*ck!" After seeing the description of the Wang Yu's quest, Lone Vagrant Guest was literally shivering in fear. Losing the Quest Good would be equivalent to failing the quest. The penalty for failing the quest was -5 levels and -1000 main city merit points. This b*llshit was not a quest, it was simply a huge pit.
Even if Lone Vagrant Guest dared to take on this quest, Wang Yu would probably not be willing to sell. Without mentioning how long it took him to advance the five levels, the 1000 merit points was not something money could buy. Regardless of how wealthy Lone Vagrant Guest was, he wouldn't possibly bet all his money on a quest which the rewards were unknown.
"Brother Bull, you have my condolences…" Lone Vagrant Guest patted Wang Yu on the back as he tried to comfort him.
Just the first round of quest was already so fraudulent, who knows how the other rounds would be like? At this point, Lone Vagrant Guest felt more relieved than pitiful. He was relieved that he didn't go ahead to retrieve the Heart of Darkness.
Wang Yu sighed as he replied, "You have the dagger with you now. You shouldn't need me to accompany you to submit it right?"

"It's okay!" Lone Vagrant Guest replied.
Thief was a job that could use [Stealth]. He could simply use [Stealth] all the way until he reached the NPC. In this era where there was no skill to counter [Stealth], a Thief wouldn't have to worry about being chased by anybody.
"Alright! Be on your way then! I shall hand over the Heart of Darkness too." Wang Yu replied helplessly.
"You really intend to complete this quest?" Lone Vagrant Guest was taken aback by Wang Yu's response.
The Heart of Darkness quest was evidently not a quest that current players could handle now. Since there was no time limit to the quest, Lone Vagrant Guest would rather train to level up before even considering to take on this quest. This was what he would do if he was in Wang Yu's place. Little did he expect that Wang Yu would want to complete it now.
"I cannot possibly bring this thing around everyday right…" Wang Yu was getting slightly frustrated.
There were dangers everywhere in the game and nobody could guarantee that they wouldn't die. Wang Yu didn't have that much of a confidence in himself. If he were to die someday, wouldn't he suffer a lot more than he should?
"You can keep it in the warehouse." Lone Vagrant Guest suggested.
"No, I cannot…" Wang Yu cried out. If he could keep it in the warehouse, he wouldn't be this depressed now.
Lone Vagrant Guest heard this and replied as though he was rejoicing in Wang Yu's misfortune, "Oh no, then I don't know how to help you anymore."
Wang Yu didn't wish to continue looking at this joker as he headed towards a small alley.
Lone Vagrant Guest didn't say anything as he continued to follow closely behind Wang Yu.
"Why are you not heading the other way?" As Wang Yu arrived at the alley, he suddenly turned back to ask Lone Vagrant Guest.
"I am in no rush to complete my quest. I am very curious to find out what kind of quest you'll be accepting next." Lone Vagrant Guest replied.
Wang Yu answered, "You won't be of any help anyway." Even in the first round, Wang Yu felt the pain of completing it. Lone Vagrant Guest was merely a level 25 Thief so what help could he be of?

"You're overthinking. I only wanted to see how unlucky you can get." Lone Vagrant Guest chuckled.
Besides running all over the map, Lone Vagrant Guest's other hobby would be to watch shows.
Wang Yu refuted angrily, "F*ck off!"
After entering the alley, Wang Yu woke Hermit up as he handed the Heart of Darkness over respectfully, "Mentor, disciple unintentionally obtained this item. May I ask what this is?"
After seeing the Heart of Darkness, Old Man Hermit's sleepy face turned serious.
"This… Where did you get this from?" A dumbfounded Old Man Hermit questioned.
"Dusk Peak…" Wang Yu answered honestly.
"I really cannot believe this. This Heart of Darkness got to see the light again."
Hermit sighed before continuing his sentence, "This is the heart of the Sixth Apostle. Back then, I sealed this heart and handed it to the Thieves Guild. Eventually, a top expert appeared in the guild and coveted for the energy of darkness. He stole the Heart of Darkness and it disappeared without any trace. Who knew that it will end up in Dusk City?"
"So how should I deal with this Heart of Darkness?"
"The Heart of Darkness possessed an insurmountable amount of dark energy. An energy like this can magically affect the monsters outside the city to be even more violent and powerful. If it was released within the city, it could magically affect the citizens too. Therefore, the best way to deal with this would be to seal it up again."
"How are we supposed to seal it up?" Wang Yu continued to ask questions.
"The Dusk Roulette used to seal this Heart of Darkness was also stolen. To seal this Heart of Darkness again, we have to locate the assassin who stole this Heart of Darkness many years ago. The assassin's name was Lyon.
"Assassin Lyon?" After Wang Yu saw the quest, his heart was in a shock. Simultaneously, he thought of his contract quest. Wang Yu came to a realisation that the person who got Lone Vagrant Guest to retrieve the dagger was the man who stole the Heart of Darkness.
Lone Vagrant Guest was not that surprised when he heard what Hermit told Wang Yu. This was because this fella named Lyon was the bounty target of the Thief advisor for the first round of the Heart of Darkness Quest. What he didn't expect was that Assassin Lyon was actually the man who coveted for the dark energy.
"Both our quest NPC is the same person. We wouldn't clash right?" After walking out of the alley, Lone Vagrant Guest asked Wang Yu.
Wang Yu pondered for a while, "I doubt we will clash but I don't think you can get out of this quest too."
While the Heart of Darkness was in Wang Yu's hands now, the dagger used to seal the Heart of Darkness was pulled out by Lone Vagrant Guest. Lone Vagrant Guest should be considered an accomplice…
Lone Vagrant Guest was inwardly frightened as he replied, "Stop messing with me. My quest and your quest are two completely different quests."
In <>, the reward of the quest would be directly related to the grade of the quest. While the rewards of an S grade quest was very tempting, the terrifying penalty of failure was enough to deter Lone Vagrant Guest from having any interest in this quest.
"Haha" Wang Yu merely laughed as he didn't bother to explain.
It seemed like Lone Vagrant Guest was too used to paying people to complete his quests. He was clearly not aware of how fraudulent the NPCs in this game could be when giving our quests.
Dusk Wilderness was a level 30 monsters zone in the west of Twilight City. The majority of monsters here was the beast-like monsters such as the Dusk Cheetahs and Dusk Tigers. These monsters possessed incredible speed but low health. They were the favourite targets of Warriors. Wang Yu, on the other hand, seldom visit this place.
There were several level 25 warriors loitering across the wilderness. Lone Vagrant Guest brought Wang Yu along as they arrived at an extremely remote corner in the depths of the wilderness.
There was a large tree in the corner and after walking past the tree, Wang Yu saw a grey shirt Thief NPC seated under the tree leisurely. This NPC was indeed who Wang Yu was trying to find, Assassin Lyon.
