《MMORPG: Martial Gamer》Chapter 388. Hidden Quest

The battlefield after the battle was in a complete mess. After cleaning up the place, everything from the ground was finally collected.
"Old Bull ah, why are you picking up so many crops instead of equipment?" Frost Blade noticed what Wang Yu was picking up so he couldn't help but asked.
Equipment could still be sold but who was he going to sell these crops to?
Wang Yu shook his head, "I don't know. I picked it up because I saw that these are Quest Goods."
Wang Yu was basically interested in anything with the tag [Quest Goods]. This was because this system's quests were usually very deceptive. You never know when you will need something. Anyway, Wang Yu had a large enough bagpack to fit these.
Frost Blade laughed, "This method of yours is simply too traditional. Items such as crops should be required for entry level quests. The rewards are very low so not everyone will be interested."
Frost Blade was speaking from experience. Back in the beginner's village, there were a lot of such collection quests. The quests were usually complicated and the rewards were not enticing at all.
"No matter how small a housefly it is, it still has meat…"
Wang Yu chuckled as he kept the very last crop in his bag.
"Creak!"
At this moment, the door of a thatched hut beside Wang Yu opened. An old man with white hair walked out from the hut and walked straight towards Wang Yu. He seemed deeply grateful to Wang Yu as he spoke, "Great Warrior, thank you for bringing your men to clear the calamity in our village."
Concurrently, everyone received a series of system notifications.
"F*ck!!" Looking at the system notification, Frost Blade, who was initially laughing at Wang Yu, had his mouth opened extremely wide. The crops, which he initially thought was useless, actually managed to trigger a quest. Could picking up every item which had the "Quest Goods" tag be the real way of playing this game?

Everyone else was equally shocked, "This is a chain of quests. I doubt Old Bull's luck is that good at all. Unless you already knew of this quest beforehand? Hurry up, admit that Mrs Bull gave you an advance notice!"
It wasn't a secret that Mu Zi Xian was working at the customer service sector of the game's company.
Wang Yu spread out his hands helplessly as he indicated that he really didn't know anything.
Spring Halo was in deep thoughts before he spoke, "It appears that the crops aren't the thing that triggered the quest. It was the fact that we annihilated all the monsters here. However, our leader is Fearless and the monsters were killed by the people of the Land of Imperial Power. How did Old Bull end up being the one who triggered the quest?"
Fearless replied, "You've forgotten that the blue monster was killed by Iron Bull..."
"Oh, no wonder…" Spring Halo instantly understood what was going on. This quest was triggered by the first person to attack the monster.
Poor people of the Land of Imperial Power. They helped to kill all the monsters, complete the quest and were all killed eventually… It didn't matter if they only missed out on the rewards. They even lost quite a bit of their equipment. It was definitely a double loss for them.
As the duo was speaking, Wang Yu had already clicked on the accept button.
Everyone from the Quan Zhen Sect received yet another system notification.
After looking at the quest's introduction, everyone couldn't help but hesitate for a while. This quest is simply too evil. It didn't even specify the level as it only warned that it was going to be extremely dangerous. This was different from the previous quests. Could the system be playing tricks on them?
Ming Du walked towards the front of the old man as he questioned, "Mister, what is the reward for this quest?"

According to the usual hidden quests, NPC who gave out the quests were usually the intelligent ones. Players were still able to ask a few questions. Examples would be the rewards or the weakness of the monsters.
"I plead that you help us…" Old man NPC replied.
Even Ming Du was dumbfounded. This old man was actually not an intelligent NPC. He wasted his time trying to be polite earlier.
"Your question and technique are a no go. Watch me." A confident Wang Yu took out five gold and swung it in front of the old man before asking, "What do we need to watch out for during this quest?"
While speaking, Wang Yu even turned back to look at Ming Du, "NPC in the games are all greedy ghosts. As long as you are willing to spend, there is nothing they will not say."
In the next moment, the old man extended his hand to grab Wang Yu's gold coin, "Thank you Great Warrior, I plead that you help us ah…"
"... F*ck!" Even Wang Yu felt embarrassed at a time like this.
"Haha, Old Bull, I think you didn't spend enough…" Ming Du laughed out loud.
"Maybe…" Wang Yu replied as he took out more money.
Fearless walked up as he swung his staff towards the old man's head.
"Hurry up and tell us, how do we go about this quest…" Fearless swung his staff again, looking like he was going to strike again.
When faced with Fearless' brutal abuse, this old man finally changed his lines. "You thug! You are no different from the violent and drunk refugees. One day, all of you bad men will die in the wine bucket…"
"Wine!" Hearing the old man's lines, everyone's eyes lit up.
"F*ck! He won't talk until we hit him. This old man… Can't believe he likes this type of treatment…" Ming Du couldn't help but curse and make fun of him.
So the main point of this quest was the wine.
There was a clear difference between the non-intelligent NPC and intelligent NPC. Intelligent NPC had emotions just like any other realistic human. Making him happy would guarantee some quest's notifications.
Non-intelligent NPC had no emotions and to find a breakthrough in the NPC's lack of emotions, one had to observe carefully. This old man only weakness was that his fear of the thugs. Therefore, his only emotion breakthrough was fear.
"How did you know that this old man would be scared?" Wang Yu asked with an attitude to learn.
"Because when the monsters entered the village, all the villagers were so scared that they returned straight to their houses." Fearless explained.
"Impressive!"
Wang Yu was in complete awe of Fearless' capability. His train of thoughts were always faster than other people.
"So are we going to head back to the city to buy wine?" Yang Nuo asked.
As the fastest runner, Yang Nuo was ready to run the distance.
"There is no need for that! I have wine with me!" As Wang Yu spoke, he took out a bottle of wine. Everyone rubbed their eyes in disbelief.
Everyone asked, "I thought you don't drink much? Why would you bring wine around with you?"
Wang Yu laughed, "My skill requires it!" Wang Yu recently obtained an immortal wine skill. Therefore, he had quite a few bottles of wine with him.
"Drunken Fist?" Everyone opened their eyes wide as they remembered Wang Yu's [Drunken Fist] quite clearly.
"I guess so."
Everyone exclaimed, "Tsk tsk… This is a disguised form of drinking stimulant."

From the Final World
I have lived a long, long time. Longer than the universe knows; longer than any star has seen or traveling light records. My memories; that is all that is left that knows that length, and that which was seen within it. Then again, that is all that ever did. When I am gone, it will be forgotten, a truth and a history lost forever no matter who or what tries to find it. I think that is why I write this now. A record, or a lament, of the most significant being of all time. It is a prideful exaltation of endless triumph, or the dread condemnation of infinite evil. I don’t know which; I shall leave it for others to judge. I could explain further, of course. I could list the sins that have been committed, the deeds that have been done. Yet for now, I believe this is enough. Her story will speak for itself. About the good, and evil, in the heart of a single girl burdened with more than her fair share. And how she reacted to it. So, I will tell her story. Of gods and devils, mortals and monsters, of legends long forgotten and civilizations long turned to dust. And in the end, I hope she knows herself, whether it is salvation, or destruction, she should receive.
