《Taming Master》Chapter 535: Getting a New Spirit 2

A quest difficulty of ‘A+’.
That was a ridiculously high level of difficulty.
Of course, Ian did clear quests with triple S difficulty several times, but the current A+ was a totally different case.
‘A+ difficulty in the Middle-Earth…’
In other words, A+ with the transcendence level.
Which made Ian nervous.
And paved the way for a carefully planned strategy.
‘Since there is no time limit, we need to target it as safely as possible.’
The Gorge of Gusts was a special map that gave certain attribute monsters and spirits the advantage of the combat in the map.
And that was one of the biggest reasons for the difficulty for the dungeon.
The targets battle stats showed that it was of Zion attribute, and all the monsters in the dungeon were of either Abyss or Zion spirit.
Due to that, though most of the dungeons were composed of lower-level spirits, the actual experience felt like fighting intermediate level ones.
Kukung-!
The mechanical guardian rushed towards the party of Ian making bizarre sounds.
“Kulkul… I’ll tear you all off…”
And it reminded him of the giant King Kong.
To be more precise, it was a mechanical structure that looked like a King Kong.
‘It looks like it is similar to the higher level spirits that we faced at the last gate in the Frost Cave… and has a buff on it, anything else I’m missing?’
The mechanical guardian just raised his fist in the direction of Ian.
Kwang-!
Like a meteorite that fell, the whole cave trembled and the fist created a pit where it fell.
Tatt-!
Ian avoided it by jumping lightly and began to give out orders.
“Vanessa, summon a few of your familiars to protect Sarah and Muel.”
“Okay, Ian!”
“Sarah, I need some debuff, please!”
“Okay!”
Bababang-!
The cave was completely isolated from the outside, it was like a Boss Room.
In it, numerous units were moving in unison.
The party members were only 4 even after including Ian, but when Ian and Vanessa summoned their familiars, the place got crowded to a full party level.
Seeing Ian’s swiftly moving familiars, Vanessa thought to herself.
‘How does one even control so many familiars?’
No normal summoner would run with so many summons.
Summoners usually operate three to four of their most common ones, the Novice summoners have a lot of difficulties controlling just one.
And Vanessa had about seven.
‘I like exactly seven of them…’
Vanessa too had many more familiars with her.
However, the limit with the leadership was less, and having too many familiars made it difficult to get a good control over them.
Surely Vanessa had a great combat ability, but being to multi-task was a whole other thing.
Therefore, the size of familiars that Vanessa could manage in the combat were of two myth class familiars, three legendary ranked, and two hero ranked magical beasts.
And of all of them was Cortus, the land dragon that could be called as the main summon.
Then what about Ian?
Let’s see from the myth class rank first.
With the familiars that were summoned onto the battlefield, Karceus, Bbookbbook, Elcarix, and Thor.
There were four of them in total.
And that wasn’t the end.
One wasn’t with them and had to be in the training camp because of its potential. And including that it was 5.
Myth rank alone, 5.
There were much more legendary ranked familiars.
The first member of Ian’s family, Ly, and the Bbakbbak who has been a very great tanker.
Halli, with the strongest maneuverable, and Pin, a very good dealer.
From the legendary magical beasts, the best supporting dealer Nick, who has a legendary amount of damage.
And the case of ‘Evolvable’ for Grrr.
The potential was there, so it could be a myth rank at any time that it met the requirements.
If the normal summoners had even just one of Ian’s top summons, they would rise to the top ranks in no time.
‘How many alternatives did Ian have?’
Vanessa shook her head once again after looking at all the summons of Ian.
She didn’t know the ranks of Ian’s familiars.
But from just rough estimation, there seemed to be no one below the hero ranks.
It was an unrealistic power.
Maybe if Ian introduced himself as a GM, the twins would have believed him with no doubt.
“Halli! Guardian of Wind!”
Grrrng-! Krrrng-!
Ian who climbed on top of Halli moved along with the wind and headed in the direction of the guardian.
Following them were Ly and Pin.
Kiyaaa-!
Krrrng-!
Excluding the three, the other summons moved a little back and created a camp.
Even the tanker, Bbakbbak.
Vanessa was completely puzzled looking at it.
Because of the orders from Ian, when all his summons moved back, so did the summons of Vanessa.
In other words, there were no tankers at the forefront of the battlefield.
‘You want to fight while avoiding it?’
It could be a possible theory.
But if all the deals can be avoided, the whole purpose of the tanker loses its meaning.
And Ian wasn’t moving with that intention either.
Swask-!
With the Judgment of the Spirit King in his hands, Ian rushed towards the mechanical guardian with gold light.
And the spear went right to the forehead of the guardian.
Tring-!
[You have done fatal damage to the ‘Guardian Machine’!]
[The vitality of the ‘Guardian Machine’ reduced by 587!]
Powerful damage was stuck for an attack which didn’t mix skill coefficients.
But considering the enormous coefficient of the vitality and the resilience of the machine, it was pretty great.
Wooong-!
The energy of Zion wrapped the whole body around the machine and was restoring the vitality back to its normal size.
“kukung- petty guys-!”
The angry guardian machine roared into the air in the middle of the dungeon.
A white wave spread out everywhere.
Wheeing- wheeing-!
It was an inevitable kind of debuff.
[‘Guardian Machine’ casts a unique ability of ‘Guardian’s shout’.]
[Agility has been reduced by 20% for 30 seconds.]
[Defense reduced by 10% for 30 seconds.]
[All attack skills are unavailable for 90 seconds.]
[You are in a state of ‘fear’ for 5 seconds.]
[Resisted.]
Ian who read the system messages quickly checked the conditions of his familiars.
There were three summons in the range of debuff.
And two of them were in a state of fear.
Ian quickly ordered Muel, pointing to Ly and Pin who were in a panic.
“Muel, Pin and Ly!”
“Kay!”
He hadn’t spoken precisely what had to be done, but Ian’s order was to use the skill ‘release’ on Ly and Pin.
Priest class unique ability, ‘release’ skill was triggered and the state would be released.
It wouldn’t have been possible for Muel and priest class user to not understand it.
From the staff of Muel, who was waiting for the orders—white light came out.
At the same time, Pin and Ly’s conditions went back to normal.
The duration of fear was for 5 seconds, and in less than 2 seconds they were released from the state.
In the meantime, Ian, who approached the guardian machine, struck his sword.
By using the unique ability of Summoner Knight to wield the Judgment of the Spirit King, Ian was wielding the Bloody Revenge.
Bang-Ba-!
[You have done fatal damage to the ‘Guardian Machine’!]
[Vitality of the ‘Guardian Machine’ reduced by 295!]
[Vitality of the ‘Guardian Machine’ reduced by 177!]
Though huge sounds were echoing, not much damage had been caused.
And Ian’s eyes which read the message narrowed.
‘It wasn’t an attack that I do normally, but…’
The attack done by the vitality weapon wasn’t bringing out that great of damage.
Rather than saying that it wasn’t bringing out damage, it wasn’t moving in the perfect manner that he wanted.
If Ian had been able to move the Judgment of the Spirit King in the exact way that he wanted, then the damage would have been much more.
‘lack of practice I guess…’
Ian was grumbling to himself while controlling Halli.
The result was suffocating enough and it was the time for the attack to come up.
“Kwaahk- germs, you’re all like germs…!”
Roaring out loud, the guardian machine’s body was pounding on his chest with its fists.
A number of projectiles rose from the back and were beginning to fire from all the directions.
Swack- swack-
Spreading all through the dungeon, huge amount of balls started to fall.
Muel who saw that gulped.
‘Yeah, this was it. All of us went to death at the same time.’
The iron bullets fired close to each other were the most dangerous of the monster’s unique ability.
Because of that, Muel reflexively triggered the shield.
Ian’s order didn’t even fall, but without the shield, they would have been wiped out.
Woong-!
However, that was a mistake on part of Muel.
Kiyoo-!
A beautiful phoenix emerged from somewhere; radiating a brilliant gold shade and wiped out all the projectiles that were spread across the battlefield.
* * *
When dealing with the first time with the boss monster, it was always necessary to understand the attack pattern of the enemy first.
And it was most important to get the least amount of damage in the process.
“Cowards, run away…!”
This was why Ian had initially approached it with an agile driven familiars.
The reason why they pulled back the tankers wasn’t because he was confident in avoiding all the incoming attacks.
No matter how great Ian was, there was no way that he could avoid all the attacks from the boss monsters.
That too when the variables that would occur weren’t even known.
However, if the idea of attack was abandoned and they went to ‘avoid’, the story could be different.
If the attack on the boss was neglected and the focus was kept on the movements of the boss, then they would get close to avoid 100 percent of the attacks from the boss.
And through the previous observations, Ian was able to sully grasp the attack pattern of the opponent.
“Yeah, you speak well. Even if you didn’t I wouldn’t have fought with my all.”
Ian smiled and aimed his sword at the machine.
Then, the summons and his admirers moved forward.
“Sarah, Vanessa, ready?”
“Obviously!”
“Sure!”
The two sisters who were accustomed with the battle style of Ian quickly understood what his order meant.
Unlike the two, Muel was half a beat slow, and Ian gave the orders.
“Muel, support Bbookbbook a lot.”
“Huh…?”
“That guy over there, the Abyss dragon.”
“Ah, okay.”
With shining eyes, Ian looked over at Bbookbbook.
And with a nasty smile on his mouth he spoke,
“Bbookbbook-ah.”
“What, what is it Bbook?”
Bbookbbook replied with a trembling voice as it was feeling very anxious for some unknown reason.
And that anxiousness of Bbookbbook took a nasty turn into reality.
“From the very moment…”
“bbook?”
“You are a tanker, healer and the main damage dealer.”
Bbookbbook’s eyes started to water.
“Bubbook? What is that supposed to mean bbook?”
Except for the dragon Breath, there were no unique abilities for Bbookbbook.
He could use the magic clan to use the magic abilities, but that was a lot less efficient on physical damage and needed intellect.
But nevertheless, Bbookbbook had a nearly boastful level of DPS.
It was just because the battle stats were high.
‘The magical clan ability of magic seems more tricky than originally thought.’
Each time the energy was absorbed the stats were reinforced, and the unique ability of Bbookbbook was empowered only.
The current state of ‘Magic enhancement’ was as follows.
-Magic Enhancement
The abyss dragon becomes much more powerful each time they absorb divine spirits.
(Every time the spirits are blocked, the defense, vitality, and damage are permanently increased.)
Current Attack Damage: 7,524 (250 Transcendence)
Additional defense: 5,725 (190 transcendence)
Current additional Vitality: 1,257,565
Even with just the bonus stats from the Magic enhancement, a general summoner could be able to get to 100 levels while having Bbookbbook in hands.
The combat itself was more powerful that Karceus and Bbakbbak, so there was no need for further explanation.
The only regretful thing with Bbookbbook was that it just didn’t have a high coefficient attack.
But from now, that shortcoming would mean nothing.
And now, the attack skills were almost impossible to use because of the debuff skills of the Guardian Machine.
‘It has been long since I went with BBookbbook.’
In addition, BBookbbook was of Abyss attribute.
Until that moment; the Abyss attribute existence was not known, but with that—Bbookbbook was in the strongest attribute buff.
Bbookbbook was going to be the one which would be using one of the two buffs that the dungeon would provide, it was because of its attribute and the affinity.
In addition, the Guardian Machine which was in the front was of Zion attribute—an attribute that Abyss could probably eat.
“Bbubbook.”
“Bbubbok?”
“You have some pent up hunting stress right?”
“Bbook!”
Ian lifted his spear and pointed it to the guardian.
Chuck-!
And laughed.
“From this very moment, that is your sandbag.”
“Bbook…?”
“Hyung will look after your back, you go ahead!”

Kellan doesn't look like the old man on the cover, though once he acquires a disguise-type ability he may occasionally use that appearance.
