《Taming Master》Chapter 528: Discovering the Mechanical Civilization 2

After clearing the gates, Sarah and Vanessa learned about the identity of Ian.
Ian was the one who explained it to them, but it was a weird situation that they knew but couldn’t pinpoint to.
Thanks to the system message, they realized that the spirit dimension was a shared dimension among the summons, and because of the weird abilities that Ian had manifested.
Because that was the combat ability that could be shown only by a top ranker of one server.
And by this time, Vanessa had almost become a follower of Ian.
As long as they realized that they were not the users of the same server, there was no competition.
After completing all the quests, they were on the road to leave the frost cave.
And Vanessa caught up with Ian and was shouting in his ear.
Vanessa had too many questions that she wanted to ask Ian.
“Ian, how did you come across the God Dragons?”
“Vanessa, you have one of them too.”
“Cortus, that was because of luck…”
“I guess it was luck for me too.”
“Tch, you’re too much…”
And Ian too surely wanted to check things with Vanessa.
And among them, the most curious things he wanted to know was if the summons with unique names existed on the same servers.
For example, a dragon-like Karceus or Elcarix.
But those questions were pushed out.
They were much more interesting that it had to be organized.
‘Spirit spell… it sure is a lot more fun than what I anticipated.’
The additional information that Ian’s party got from prettybbook was like a gem.
Many of them were even unexpected for Ian too.
Ian recalled the conversation he had with Prettybbook.
“The spirits can be divided into two types?”
“Yes, bbook. Four Grand spirits and derived spirits. According to the attributes, they can be divided into two.”
“Four Grand and derived spirits?”
“First of all, the Grand spirits are—water, fire, land, and air. These four are the attributes that a lot of them have bbook.”
“Oh…”
“And these four spirits are the original spirits that were the basis for all the spirits.”
“Do all the spirits of the other attributes are derived spirits?”
“Right bbook. You sure are smart bbook.”
“Hmm, then what is the difference between them and the four grand spirits?”
“Derivative spirits don’t have unique names. And no matter how much spirit power is collected, it can’t be grown to the level of ‘spirit king’.”
That was the shocking part.
Which meant that Jack—which was obtained a long while ago couldn’t be a spirit king.
But apart from that, there was another important content.
“If that is so, among the spirits of the dimension, the four grand spirits are the strongest ones?”
“That can’t be taken like that bbook.”
“Why not?”
“Just because they can’t be grown to the level of a spirit king, they aren’t all that bad, they have the advantage that only derivatives of the spirits have.”
“What is good about that?”
“In the case of the four grand spirits, all the stats are fixed while the derivatives are of the same stats and the same attributes, their stats are entirely different. Even the appearance differs.”
“So… something similar to that of a normal summon?”
“Right bbook. And that is why the some outstanding spirts of derivatives are on the same level of the spirits kings and sometimes they are rather superlative than all.”
“Oho.”
“Furthermore, even if they are the four grand spirits, it isn’t easy becoming a Spirit king bbook.”
“Well, that would surely be tough.”
“No. It should be just thought to be ‘tough’ bbook. ‘Spirit King’ is a divine being, and there can only be one for each attribute. It is impossible for the spirit with many attributes to grow into a spirit king bbook.”
“Ah…”
Perhaps if it was a normal user, they would have shook their heads after listening to the explanation of Prettybbook.
Because the explanation was a bit complex, it couldn’t be completed in a moment.
But Ian was different.
As soon as Ian heard that stuff, a question came to his mind.
“Then Prettybbook.”
“Go on bbook.”
“Then in the spirit dimension, are there any spirit kings in the four grand spirits?”
“Well, there isn’t bbook.”
“Then?”
“The spirit kings that I know of are, Elisha and Trowell. Only two of them are the spirit kings. Ragnaros and Esilon were extinguished in the fight against the mechanical civilization.”
“Elisha is the spirit king of water…”
“Yeah, bbook. Trowell is of earth. Ragnaros is the spirit king of fire… Esilon is of wind.”
“Ah… that so?”
It was a matter of course, Ian thought that at least one of them should be the king if the concept of the Four Grand spirits existed.
And it was natural for him to have a desire to raise it.
As a result, Ian wanted to get a Four grand spirit that could grow as a ‘spirit king’ as soon as possible.
And from the words of Prettybbook, the spirits of wind or fire had to be raised for him to become a spirit king.
“If that is so Prettybbook, where can I get a summon spell that could summon any one of the Four Grand spirits?”
“There is a place called the ‘spirit sanctuary’ in the wind plains bbook.”
“Spirit… sanctuary?”
“Yes, Bbook. And if you go to the spirit guardian ‘Syarlon’, he will show you the way.”
“Thank you very much, Prettybbook. You are smart and beautiful.”
“Bbukbbook! You are well-known my friend bbook!”
To thought about it for a moment and then began to walk.
As he kept on walking, the dark frost cave started to end and light began to shine on the corner.
As they neared the entrance, the cave began to turn bright.

Did they walk another 5 more minutes?
After a long passage, bright light started to enter Ian’s eyes.
And in the sight of Ian, strangers came.
* * *
Ian, who was walking quickly opened the party chat.
Ian: Sarah, Vanessa.
Sarah: Huh?
Vanessa: What now all of a sudden?
Ian: Those users over there… do you know them?
Vanessa: No, I don’t.
Sarah: I don’t know either. I don’t think they are from the German server… not Korean server users?
Ian: Nope. I don’t even know their faces. Definitely not the Korean server rankers.
Sarah and Vanessa were both on board with Ian.
They had shared a lot of information from Prettybbook and together, they seemed to have earned some trust for each other.
But they weren’t like that.
Which meant that they had to be as careful as possible.
‘They might not know that the Middle-Earth is a shared dimension between the servers.’
Ian decided to make the twins tight-lipped.
Ian: We should probably hide this thing about the server as much as we could.
Vanessa: Huh?
Sarah: Okay, fine. I was planning on doing that before you said.
Information was more powerful when withheld.
And the information that everyone knew wasn’t information any longer.
The information that everyone knew became a ‘common knowledge’ from that moment.
However, if the users were going to walk alongside them, then the information could be opened.
Just as he did with Vanessa and Sarah.
‘At least we can’t open the information to them until we know their purpose and reason.’
Ian decided what had to be done and slowly approached the questionable user.
He opened his mouth and spoke,
“Wah! There are a lot of rankers in this spirit dimension!”
At those words of Ian, Vanessa looked at him with ridiculous expression.
Pretending to know who they were when he clearly doesn’t.
And Sarah seemed rather blanked face.
It felt like Ian was throwing random stones at them.
‘What are you doing?’
Sarah looked at Ian with an interested expression.
And the man in the front who seemed middle-aged had caught the stone Ian threw.
“Hahat, that is that… this is a face I’m seeing for the first time. I don’t think you are a top ranker, how did you get here?”
On the head of the man was the ID ‘Ralph’.
Seeing that, Ian’s eyes went bright.
All the information was private except for the user ID, but it was all that Ian needed to lead the conversation.
Ian’s words were literally flowing.
“That friend had obtained a special quest.”
At the end of those words, Ian pointed his finger at Vanessa.
Vanessa looked bewildered, but Ian didn’t mind.
“Because of that, we were able to enter the spirit dimension a little early and raised the transcendence level. Well, and the Pan’s gate… as you can see, we failed.”
Seeing Ian lie with utmost devotion, Sarah clicked her tongue.
‘Wowo… look at that expression. Even I would have fallen for that lie.’
Ian’s words continued,
“Ralph, did you pass through the gate?”
At the question from Ian, Ralph took a moment.
It wasn’t easy to say that he had failed the gate, all because of pride.
But Ian too had said that he failed, so there was no reason for the others to hide it.
And with a bitter smile, Ralph opened his mouth,
“No, we failed too. The third gate wasn’t easy for use either.”
“Ah, I see. We didn’t get to see the third gate, but it sure would have been great.”
Ian led the dialogue very naturally.
And the other rankers with Ralph started to take part in the conversation.
“Hoho, this is a bit unfortunate that you only recognize Ralph. My name is Chesk, archer ranker.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m Inisco.”
“Nice to meet you too, this is Muel.”
At this point, the twins who stood far behind Ian introduced themselves too, and the conversation went on naturally.
And in the process, Ian gathered some information.
The biggest one was, they found out the server place where the rankers came from.
‘US server rankers… this is getting fun.’
The US server was the first server to open at the same time as the Korean Server.
In terms of the user size, it was the second-largest server right after China.
And hence Ian was expecting more than that when he met the German server rankers; Sarah and Vanessa.
In particular, Ian was the most curious about the ability of Ralph who was the 2nd warrior ranker.
‘As long as there was no huge difference, I’m thinking he might be the same level as Irahan or Shakran oldie.’
Ian was concluding his thoughts.
And right then, Ralph talked about something.
“Then you are a knight class. And the twins are a wizard and summoner?”
Ian was called as the ‘knight’ class.
‘What is this? Why would he even think that I am a knight class?’
Ian went dumbfounded for a second but was able to respond quickly,
“That’s right.”
“Nice. Move with us. Since the destination is going to be the same.”
He was going to tell them the truth later.
“Nice. Then, thank you so much. We get to be on the same boat of rankers.”
At the words of Ian, Muel who was next to Ralph responded.
Muel was the only female user of the ranker position in the US server.
“It is nothing. Entering the spirit dimension means you have great talent.”
“Ha ha, not at all. It is embarrassing when a ranker says that to me.”
And Chesk added something,
“Not at all, we were in need of a tanker. Thank you very much Ian.”
“I will help out.”
The party of Ian and the party of Ralph quickly became friends as they began to move.
Ralph and his party moved on the Griffin King that Inisco had, and Ian moved with his party on the Cortus that Vanessa had summoned.
And their destination was the ‘Windy Plains’.
That was the beginning of ‘Thoughtless dreams’.

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.
