《Taming Master》Chapter 487: Encounter With the Lich King 3

There were uncountable types of defense towers in Kailan.
It was established in such a way to build the wanted type of defense tower that would go perfectly with the castle that would be developed.
Along with that, depending on the type of resources that would be available around the castle, the building that could be built would vary, so it was natural to have such a wide variety of towers.
However, even in that case, did it mean that the defense towers were developed without a chance of elimination?
There were three criteria for classifying the towers in the Kailan.
The first criteria were based on the type of ‘attack’.
Depending on whether the towers’ attacking properties were physical or magical properties, the classification was divided.
In a sense, it was the largest criteria.
The second criterion was classified according to the ‘role’.
Some towers specialize in the wide-area attacks; while some inflict powerful damage in a single strike, some can inflict massive damage to the ground instead of being unable to attack in the air, while the others were specialized in the air defense.
And there were these special towers with the detection and support capabilities.
Finally, the third criterion was the classification based on the tower performance.
It could be conveniently labeled as ‘tier’, and the higher the number before the tier, the higher would be the tower.
Falcacio Castle, the last known ‘highland’ of the Lich King episode.
Most of the towers in the Falcacio castle were of the magical attribute.
And among the magical attribute, the majority of the towers were of the ‘dark’ attribute type.
And Ian wanted to take advantage of that feature.
‘The magical towers are characterized by the need for an energy core.’
The magical towers were more powerful, and they had higher attacking capabilities than any physical towers.
Instead, the hit rate was rather low than the physical tower, and it didn’t work in the absence of the energy core.
And the energy core was a simple facility that provides magical powers to the magical tower.
If the tower was within the range of the energy core, the tower will work.
There were also ‘tiers’ in the energy core, the higher the tier of the core, the better the magic towers would perform.
This was why the energy core was so important and had to be placed in the vicinity of the magic towers, which were the main defense facility of the Falcacio Castle.
So where were these important energy cores located?
Too obvious, as safe as they could be placed.
The cores would be installed in the rearmost region without losing the range of the energy supply of the towers.
And right now, the place where Lotus and Titan were located was…
“Surely, it can’t be that it wouldn’t be here.”

It was in the ‘back’ area.
“Really nothing less of a ghostly view.”
Looking at numerous energy cores that were in the vision, Herz couldn’t stay silent.
Ian, who found the energy cores that were hidden in the complex structure of fortress was very amazing.
Fiolan who was right beside him admired it.
“How did you manage to find this? Was it Ian who had designed it?”
At the question of Fiolan, Ian didn’t answer and just smiled.
“Was the siege done once or twice? This is really…”
And the users of the Titan who followed in after the Lotus were amazed too.
“If we just shake it out here, the real outer line defense will be broken.”
“Ahe. If all the cores are broken in here, wouldn’t they just get connected to the other cores right away? Wouldn’t that much be prepared for a large castle of this size?”
“Oh, that? Now that I listen to you, does it make sense?”
“Phew, someone doesn’t seem like a newbie in the siege.”
Listening to the conversation, Ian nodded his head.
‘The words of that user is right. If we destroy everything in here, they will get connected to the spare energy core soon.’
Moreover, as soon as the cores get destroyed, there was a good chance for the Lich King to know about the intruders.
If the soldiers on the towers knew that the energy supply was cut down, they would immediately go to report on that matter.
Ian’s head started to work to make the best of the situation.
‘There is only one way. We need to take down the castle troops before they recover. Before the spare energy core work… we’ll have to hit from both sides and tear down the line.’
The large framework of the strategy did sound very simple, but the detailed execution of the strategies that were needed to be maintained was very complex.
It was because troops stationed outside and the troops of Ian had to match perfectly.
Shakran who was next to Ian asked him in a low voice,
“Kid, why did you stop? Those things, shouldn’t they all be destroyed?”
At the question from Shakran, Ian shook his head answered,
“Wait a minute and see uncle. These aren’t things that you decide in a moment.”
“Arrogant little jerk…”
Listening to the retort from Ian, Shakran just shook his head out of frustration, however, he wasn’t in a bad mood.
It was because, while moving along with Ian, he was able to fully grasp the ability of him.
Till then Ian was highly regarded, but it was limited only to the ‘physical’ aspect of the gaming.
It wasn’t known that Ian was such a thorough person.
Seeing the Lotus, it seemed like they had an excellent person like Emily on their side.

Shakran opened his mouth again,
“Kid, then how are we supposed to move?”
Ian took a step forward.
“After 1 minute. Once I signal, hit them all at once.”
* * *
Drrrk-!
A huge pulley rolled down, and heavy chains were getting released.
Keeeek-!
The preface of the Falcacio castle began to open with a low grumbling and gritty sound due to the interlocking rings.
And inside the door, was Limlong on a huge dark horse, preparing for a run.
“Sir Limlong, is this all right? The number of enemies is quite high.”
A dark magician behind Limlong asked him with concern written on his face.
He was a level 470 powerful named NPC whom the Lich King directly had given over to Limlong.
Even though he was worried, Limlong was fairly confident.
“Don’t worry, Sir Dekail. They are just haphazard.”
Kukung-!
As the two men were talking, bright light started to enter because of the gate opening.
And in the other place, were human users.
Limlong smiled and spoke,
“Look over there. Those jerks, they won’t enter the range of the defensive towers.”
“Even then…”
“It feels like they are trying to pull power, then we’ll ask the tower guards to attack.”
At those words from Limlong, the dark magician Dekail too moved his head.
“Well, Limlong, your words make sense.”
“Right. Instead of staying here like this, I would rather go out and sweep them off and support the troops of the castle.”
“Nice. Since our king has delegated the power over to Limlong, we will follow your wish.”
Kung-!
The huge gate which seemed to be around 20 to 30 meters tall and 10 meters wide opened up completely, and the shouts of the dark legion who were waiting inside started to ring loudly.
“Kiyaah! Let’s defeat those cheeky humans!”
“Don’t let the humans step anymore further into the realm of Chalian!”
“For our King!”
Limlong looked back and smiled bitterly.
The powerful undead legion that was standing behind him would be a great ride for him.
‘Keu, if we wipe out the humans in front of us, wouldn’t I go into level 2?’
The loot wasn’t everything, but however, the experience that could be gathered was really worth it.
In addition, the users of the expedition were all composed of the highest level ones from the human dimension.
If the range of the defense towers was accurately used to fight, Limlong could relish it.
Srrng-!
Limlong pulled the sword from his waist and held it to the sky.
It was a rather short sword when compared to a regular sword, however, it was red and long when he pointed to the sky.
The enhancement was almost three times more than the sword, the red energy around it was shimmering.
“For Lord, Attack! Those arrogant humans need to be killed!”
“Waah!”
Multiple legions of darkness rushed towards the battlefield.
On contrary to them, the human side users seemed rather quiet.
And an obvious factor, as the gates opened the legion of darkness poured out even though they noticed the human users with their own eyes.
And Limlong was feeling rather good.
‘Huhu, as expected. What is left for those nerds to do?’
Tatt-!!
Limlong who was riding the horse suddenly took a step on the horse and leaped into the air.
He hid in darkness using his skill.
In fact, horse riding wasn’t suited for the assassins.
What he wanted to do, was to mix himself into the legion of darkness and assassinate as many humans as possible.
“Woah!”
“Charge!”
As time went, the distance between the humans and legion of darkness was closed due to their speedy movement.
Initially, the distance between the two camps was around 100 meters, and it was rapidly decreased to 50 meters and then to 30 meters.
The situation changed suddenly, the opponents were now almost so close that their vision could be confirmed.
Even then, the users of the human dimension didn’t move.
However, if it was someone who didn’t know, they would have thought that the strategy was changed.
‘They can’t get inside the defense towers with the crossroads, they just can’t help it anymore.’
Then, did the human users chose to not move forward because of the range that the defense towers had like Limlong guessed?
If Limlong was only a little more calm, he would have noticed that something was strange.
No matter how limited the movement got due to the range of the defensive towers, it made no sense to not move when the army of the enemy was running towards them.
Minimizing the troops and taking a step back was a normal movement in such situations.
If the battle went like this, around half of the battle was in the range of the defense towers.
No matter how stupid the commander of the human camp was, it was unlikely for them to make such a huge blunder.
However, Limlong was too convinced with the picture he drew in his head.
And in addition, the situation was believed that the most powerful human users were wiped out.
He was trying to make the perfect situation out of the current situation, even if it was hard for Limlong.
“Huhu, should I try playing with them?”
With a small satisfying mumble, Limlong shot forward.
He triggered the heist tier skill of the assassin class—Shadow Blink.
But at the very moment,
Thud- Thud-!
From the human-based camp, which was very quiet, a huge thudding sound started to rise.
