《Pantheon Online 》Chapter 88: Paving the Road

Exile sighed as his consciousness returned to his body in the bar. Seated around the table were the others. Their eyes had turned cloudy. Exile let out a small smile as he hoped that they would be able to finish the Quest without him. However, he was certain that Old Un would be able to lead them through the sandstorm. For now, all he could do was wait for the results.
His mind turned to Parthus as a complicated expression crossed his face. He was unsure if declaring a Holy War would lead him to fight Parthus again. However, he knew that he had to become stronger before they met again.
This Quest had knocked his growing ego down a few pegs again. Just as he thought he was climbing the ranks, he came across someone who was still stronger than himself. 'I have to assume that I haven't moved up a single rank. But this at least showed me that the gaps between ranks may not be as big as I thought.'
Exile drummed his fingers on the wooden table as he thought about the encounter. 'Fully specialising in one stat is a bad idea. It'll leave me open to being exploited with the way combat works here. But I do need to start focusing on one more than the others...'
He opened his stats to take a look. Currently, his endurance had the highest base amount, followed by speed. Overall, his authority was actually in second place, but this was due to his bonuses. 'The problem with authority is the cost of spells and how much DP I have. It isn't sustainable over longer battles. But it's the only way to counter the authority and Miracles of other Gods.'
Knowing that Camelot was in the game just made his decision harder. He was almost certain that Arthur would favour Speed and Endurance due to his play style. At the same time, he could pretty much guess that Merlin would focus on Authority. Although Mordread had been his vice-captain, he was unsure what path he would take in Pantheon Online.

The only thing he was certain of was that they were sure to clash at some point. Which was something he was happy to see happen, but only when he was ready. 'Camelot, Kaleidoscope and now Mirage... The list is growing...' These three Pantheons were now his top concern. But Kaleidoscope had to be his priority.
It was the only one he shared territory with for now. So they were the proverbial wolves at his door. 'I have to find out where their territory is in Skardia. If we target them... We're more likely to succeed if we attack on two fronts. Guerilla warfare here and let the NPCs shed blood and pressure them in the Mortal Realms.
Exile nodded at his plans for the immediate future. The goal was to bring down Kaleidoscope before they could raise the Tier of their Pantheon. Thereby allowing them to bring more of their players into the fold and increasing Aeri's strength in the game in the process.
'We have to act fast... We have to let the Oracles know to listen out for Aeri's name so we can pinpoint their location.' Exile's expression turned into a savage grin. 'I'm done with taking things slow. I need to have a talk with Ania... Bjorn as well. If Harik and the others manage to return, it will be the best time to strike.'
[Quest: The Doomed Raid! Completed...]
[Rewards: +100 Gold, +10 Stat Points]
Exile's eyes went wide at the lavish rewards. '10 Stat Points? That's a full level!' Before he could get two excited about it, another notification entered his mind.
[Quest: The Man Who Would Be King]
[Description: Due to your actions and events in the Mortal Realm, Harik Eraldsen no longer agrees with King Balmir's policy of banning worship to the Gods. The seed of rebellion has sprouted in his heart, but it begins with a single step. Help Harik Eraldsen become the Jarl of Yugrund.]

[Rewards: +10 Stat Points, Inhabitants of the territory of Yugrund will be more likely to worship you and/or your Pantheon.]
Exile's eyes went wide as he examined the new Quest. 'This opportunity probably would not have appeared if Harik died on that raid.' Exile hummed as he considered how timely this Quest was. 'It's a good step in preparing to deal with Kaleidoscope...'
Naturally, he was not going to let this chance slip through his fingers. In his own mind, this Quest may even be a prerequisite to having his Pantheon take the majority of the control for the whole of Skardia. 'But that means it's likely other players can get a similar Quest. The race is on...'
His attention turned to his stats and the ten new points he had just received. His mind had finally settled on the path he was going to take. He placed seven points directly into Authority. Bringing its base amount up to the same as his Endurance. A single point was allocated to his Speed while the remaining two were placed into Strength as it was the lowest of his stats.
[Congratulations! More than 60 points of Divinity detected! You have reached Level 7!]
A smile crossed Exile's face as he reviewed his stats. 'I wonder what will happen when I reach Level 10?'

Sufficiently Advanced
A Novella about magic vs aliens vs science. It's a raucous, campy sci-fi read involving humans gaining magic, a possibly pizza-hating alien empire, the decapitation of the US Federal Government, eldritch abominations, lesbian space witches and some medium-hard science.I wouldn't say it's not serious, but I wouldn't say it's serious. Eh, it's not serious. Wait... it's getting serious.

Naruto: The Ember Tomorrow
Synopsis: I enjoyed my job. I loved my life. I truly did not wish to die, but fate had other plans in store. Reborn into the body of Sasuke Uchiha just after the massacre of his clan, will I be able to forge a better path in this world of blood and death? Author's Note: This is a Naruto Isekai. I do not own Naruto nor am I making any monetary profit off of this fiction. It is purely for fun and growing my own skills as an author. This story will have many elements of the Naruto anime obviously, but there will be twists and turns. I don't much care for sticking too closely to canon. The fic will also delve somewhat into philosophy as the protagonist was a professor of such before his transmigration. I've marked the content tags of Gore, profanity, sexual content, and traumatizing content to allow myself the freedom to write as needed, but am unlikely to be excessively explicit in any of these areas; still, better to have the tag and the freedom as needed. Anyways, I hope you enjoy and feedback is always welcome.
