《Netheril’s Glory 》Chapter 142: Chilla rabbits.

In the end, the giant alchemy puppet didn't have flexible thoughts, so unsurprisingly, it ignored Punk, who was preparing a spell, and chose to attack the enemy in front of it first. Like this, the "big stupid thing" begun to whole-heartedly attacked Bahanger.
With Punk and Bahanger sharing the pressure, the metal pieces behind Kang Kai slowed down a lot, and he finally had a chance to take a breath. Kang Kai's wounds had almost completely healed under the effect of the potion, and soon he would be able to restore most of his combat power.
After a few seconds, Punk's spell was finally completed. This was the first time he used this official level spell that was originally intended for entertainment. However, this "entertainment spell" by no means was less complex. In fact, it was even more complex than most widespread spells, so Punk actually failed twice before barely completing it in his third try.
And just like the saying, "there are no useless spells, only useless mages," this official-level spell originally invented to solve the trivialities of life was about to shine here.
It was the official-level Summoning Spell- Garden Destruction; this spell summoned hundreds of little Chilla rabbits which could eat large amounts of organic matters very quickly and had an innate skill- lesser swiftness that could be activated once a day.
These Chilla rabbits summoned with this spell had almost no actual combat value, and although their speed and gnawing of organic matter could pose a threat to trainee-level creatures, but in an official-level battle, they were utterly useless.
As the name of these summoned rabbits suggested, this spell was invented by a great arcane mage called Chilla. He casually developed this spell for his apprentices to help them clean his magic plants garden. It was unknown where Punk's body's cheap parents collected such an "excellent" spell.
In Punk's opinion, the only true usefulness of this spell was its research value for learning other summoning spell models. After all, this spell was invented by a great arcane mage, so even if it was now useless, the technical content was still relevant. But what he didn't expect was that these little rabbits actually became useful in today's battle.

"Ga? Gaga, Gaga, Gaga, Gaga, Gaga..."
The moment the summoning spell was completed, a mysterious grey summoning circle appeared in front of Punk's hand, and one after another, hundreds of grey rabbits jumped out of it.
These rabbits quickly spread all around the cave. Except for their strange sounds, these rabbits, with their red eyes, long ears, and delicate fur, were not much different from any ordinary grey rabbits.
The little rabbits began to twitch their noses and sniff everywhere at the moment of landing. They were worthy of being "Garden destroyers," as such impatient professionalism was really praiseworthy.
However, Punk summoned hundreds of these noisy rabbits not to look at their cuteness, so he quickly ordered all the rabbits to use their only talent spell-lesser swiftness.
After activating their innate spells, these rabbits turned into fuzzy grey balls and began to run around on the ground. At the same time, their mana fluctuations were sensed by the tricky metal pieces.
Although these mana fluctuations were not too strong, but they were just intense enough for those non-guided metal pieces to be tricked. All the metal pieces stagnated in the air for a moment and then began to chase the rabbits around the cave.
"Mr. Kang Kai, these metal pieces become weaker when scattered. Try to destroy them now."
Punk reminded Kang Kai loudly.
"Got it."
Kang Kai's answer was also direct. He immediately stopped escaping and then quickly launched the battle skills- Wheel saw and Oscillating knife.
Kang Kai, who once again became a living chainsaw, quickly traversed dozens of meters and chopped at one of the metal pieces. Although it was not directly cut off, but all the runic circuits on it were destroyed, and after trembling in the air for a few more times, it weakly fell to the ground like a typical iron sheet.
"Sure enough, their strength has been greatly reduced. When these metal pieces are not scattered, even if it is crushed by kinetic energy, the magical enchantment would not be destroyed."

Punk thought secretly in his heart.
His purpose for not taking the first shot and encouraging Kang Kai to take action was also to verify this guess. Now, Kang Kai's success had been enough to prove that the Chilla rabbit decoy tactic was successful.
However, Punk still had a lot of questions about the combination of these metal pieces and the alchemy puppet.
After all, a meat shield with an assassin's move could be explained by the creator having abnormal ideas, but unless they were a complete idiot, it was absolutely impossible to leave such an obvious flaw.
Punk suspected that the metal pieces and the alchemy puppet were not created by one person as their cooperation was simply too rigid. They basically operated differently. The intelligent core of the alchemy puppet obviously couldn't keep up with the speed of the metal pieces, so these automatic attacking metal pieces appeared so unorganized and brainless.
"Forget it! Let's deal with the enemy in front first."
Although Punk suspected that this strangely constructed alchemy puppet had a lot to do with the origin of the legendary equipment in Ti Xiaer's hand, he had no time to delve into this matter now.
Kang Kai's speed in cleaning the metal pieces was fast, but the speed of the metal pieces in cleaning the Chilla rabbits was even faster, so he still couldn't ignore this side for now. On the other hand, the battle on Bahanger's side was also becoming more and more dangerous.
The dwarf was still attacking the alchemy puppet with his hammer, one heavier than another, but the energy of this ranged alchemy puppet was almost inexhaustible, and the dwarf's battle qi had already reached a low point.
Although the dwarf was still shouting:
"Come on. Your hits are just like tickles; it's really boring."
But in fact, the pain in Bahanger's heart was fully exposed. The battle qi armor on his body was not shimmering like it was at the beginning, and there were even some cracks on his heavy hammer.
On the other hand, the attack of the alchemy puppet had not weakened in the slightest. Every time this big thing attacked, it would set off a wave of air, and the concentrated energy would even seep out like fog from the gaps of its armor.
"Damn, Mage Punk, haven't you solved the troubles over there? Old Bahanger is not a city wall and can't stand here forever."
Bahanger spat to express his dissatisfaction. He already felt that Punk was not doing his best, so the angry dwarf was very dissatisfied with Punk. If he had not agreed to help stop the giant puppet, he would have never gone head-to-head with such a big guy.
In fact, Bahanger's observation was not wrong, and Punk was really not giving his all, not even close. His spell has already been completed, but he was still pretending like he was having difficulty building the spell model and was delaying time.
Punk did this because he knew that even though Bahanger and Kang Kai looked quite embarrassing, they actually didn't use their final trump cards. After all, they were powerhouses who had been promoted for hundreds of years, so it would be bizarre if they didn't have any powerful killer moves.
He originally planned to force the two of them to reveal a little bit more. Because in the end, the two of them would definitely become his enemies whom he had to kill. But now it seemed that he could only give up because if he delayed any more, his intention might be exposed, and he still needed their sincere cooperation to solve Ti Xiaer.
So Punk replied to Bahanger in a superficial manner and then concentrated on releasing the spell in his hand.

Beware of typos and lack of creative descriptions — my main priority is to get the story out over writing quality. Still, I hope you enjoy the story. Updates are sporadic, but I aim to release a chapter (~2000-3000 words) at least once a week. Average release time is 1 chapter/3 days. I took inspiration from the lore of the MMO, Dungeon Fighter Online (Dungeon & Fighter), and there may be easter eggs or references to the game, but the story and characters have become wholly original and standalone.
