《Netheril’s Glory 》Chapter 74: Bilan.

Bilan Stone was 18 years old this year. She was the second daughter of a nobleman, and she was also an apprentice-level mage. Typically most noble children like her would be married into some family at the age of 16 or 17, but because Bilan had a good mage talent, she managed to get away from this strict social circle of nobles successfully.
Under the guidance of an old mage, the young Bilan set foot on the path of mage very early, but because the Stone family wanted to obtain maximum benefits while also not letting her, a promising mage seedling, get out of control, they under a series of inducements made Bilan embark on a road that was not good at fighting, the road of an alchemist.
However, the difficulty of training an alchemist was beyond the Stone family's expectations, and without proper guidance and sufficient resources to support her, Bilan, who had just stepped into the threshold of a professional, became stuck in her journey and wasn't able to make good progress.
Before long, Bilan found that the road of a mage was becoming more and more difficult for her. And even after several years of hard work, she had no indication of breaking through. So most people in her family started to think that she didn't have potential.
As an embarrassingly low-level alchemy master who couldn't even refine high-quality apprentice-level potions, she couldn't make any contribution to the family at this stage. And because of it, her family also had made it clear that they wanted to give up on a mage like her with no potential. So this little mage could only continue to wait for her destiny where she would just end up as a more advanced marriage tool. But Bilan, with her lofty ideals, was really unwilling in her heart to accept such a future.

However, as the saying goes- "There is always a way out." Just when the young girl was lost and desperate, a piece of sudden news made her see a glimmer of hope again.
Some time ago, an official-level mage from the Kingdom of Camos came to a small town near the city of Dolez to live in seclusion for his research. The Minohorn family, supported by this mysterious mage, ran a business that no one dared to compete with. So in the business of alchemy potions, the name "Minohorn" was a dazzling rising star in Dolez city. Bilan once saw the head of this family, Lady Lo Lan, who was favoured by the official-level mage, in a noble's party; the heroic impression that Lo Lan left on her was still fresh in her mind.
Just a few days ago, Lo Lan, who had just met with the mysterious official mage, returned to Dolez City. In addition to the big box of alchemy potions, she also brought back a very unusual piece of news. The official mage who lived in the small town of Niailan, actually had the will to recruit some assistant apprentice.
Although almost all the mages in Dolez City wanted to become apprentices of an official-level mage, but that lord had made a clear willingness to only recruit mages who were good at alchemy. This had eliminated most of the mage. Alchemy was really not something that ordinary mages could lay their hands on.
Then there was another news that made many alchemists who were planning to go, hesitate. It was said that this mage had openly established the portal connecting to an evil plane in the small town of Niailan, completely disregarding the townspeople's safety.
Although this kind of thing completely disregarded the unwritten rules amongst lawful factions, because Punk was an official-level mage, even the lord of Dolez City just expressed a few words of condemnation, and it was over.

However, in the hearts of many professionals, including Bilan, the true faction and temper of this mage had been concluded with a big question mark, and many young mages who originally wanted to try whether they could become apprentices have back downed.
Their thought process was-
"Who knows if I would be killed by a fireball because of a small mistake or just because of his unpleasantness."
All of them would feel their scalp tingle just thinking of an official-level mage, suspected to belong in an evil camp... So as prudent professionals, most of them would rather give up this opportunity than risk their lives.
However, Bilan was moved.
Fed up with the endless harassment of noble's sons and the sordidness of the aristocratic circle, and knowing that if she continued like this, she would become a "caged bird," she wanted to hold on to any opportunity that could change her current life.
…….
Maybe it's because there were not too many mages who accepted this assistant post, fearing the fate of being close to an evil official-level powerhouse; So even with Bilan's level of alchemy talent, she was selected as an apprentice.
Until she got on the carriage to Niailan, Bilan had a kind of unreal feeling,
"I... just escape that filthy Dolez just like this?"
Sitting on the slowly moving carriage, Bilan leaned against the window with her long light green silk-like hair waving in the wind. She had slender phoenix eyebrows and a pair of eyes like the bright moon, shining brilliantly. With her exquisite nose, slightly blushing pink cheeks, half-opened cherry-like lips, her flawless melon-seed shaped face looked shy and affectionate. Also, with her beautiful snow-coloured smooth skin and a light figure, she looked just like the beautiful orchids in a room, elegant and quiet.
…….
Far away from the hustle and bustle of Dolez City, feeling the faint morning breeze across her face and the sweet fragrance of nature, Bilen was completely intoxicated. Although her future was still unknown, and she had many concerns about the unknown official-level powerhouse, but now in the heart of this beautiful lady, a faint hope blossomed, and the anxiety, mixed with fear, quietly subsided a lot.
While quietly staring at the beautiful scenery of the wilderness outside the window with her aquamarine eyes, Bilan fell asleep gently amidst the faint turmoil in her heart.
……
The future was always unpredictable, but if one doesn't move forward, how can one know whether the future is good or bad? Maybe she was stepping towards the bottomless abyss, thinking it was an "opportunity", But at least, at this moment, she could still enjoy the beautiful scenery of her path and the feelings of freedom and hope.
…..
The mountains in the distance were undulating continuously, and the environment was becoming more and more green. The tender and green grass on the nearby hillside was quietly peaking out of the earth, decorating the steep slopes. The trees on the hillside were also silently growing new branches and new shoots. From the branches of the Albizia trees, silk-like green threads were hanging down. The small yellow leaves covered with branches were like a line of petals tied on a rope.
In the fields close to the town, the vast amount of QuQu wheat seedlings seemed like green waves, and the golden wild cauliflowers seemed like colourful fishes in this wave.
"What a beautiful view!............"

Supreme Formation Immortal Sovereign
Falling under the Heavenly Tribulation, Ascending Celestial Oalur Kang finds that he's back in the past. Watch him pursue the Heavenly Path of Formations and rise to the peak of the Immortal Path! . . . . . . . . . Hello, this is F-Rank! This is my take on writing cultivation stories. Though I'm sure nobody cares, the intent behind this story was focused on creating a more or less logical cultivation system. I read several stories where the mc transmigrated to a cultivation world (not calling names to avoid unnecessary angst) and was able to completely break the cultivation system and the logic of the world because they had the power of science on their side and were able to think more logically than everybody else. Despite the fact that some characters in those stories were older than the scientific method of thinking and even the human civilization as we know it and the whole society was older than our human race. So I decided to write a story where things about cultivation make sense (as far as a magical world full of super magical people can make sense), so here we are. I don't know if I will be able to fulfil this purpose but I hope that the story will end up enjoyable. Can also be considered a prequel for my other story "Wasn’t my new life in a magical world supposed to be easy?" but has very little overlapping content and can be read as a stand alone story.
