《Netheril’s Glory 》Chapter 19: The Roar of the Undead.

The skeleton warrior with the long sword moved more than five meters just after two steps. Punk only saw a black afterimage passing in the air, but again the undead was in front of the Punk in the next second. It raised the long sword high, which was enveloped with grey death energy. The undead skeleton was about to slash at the Punk, but Punk's next spell was already completed; He skillfully released the apprentice-level summoning spells "Beasts summoning."
A huge brown bear that has been constructed in the mind palace came out from the spell's magical array, blooming with brilliance. Effectively blocking the path of the skeleton warrior's charge.
The enormous brown bear with a height of three meters had a thick fur coat. It seemed like it will not buzz even if it was hit by a cannonball.
It also had fangs shining with cold light, sharp claws, and massive muscles, which can even be seen through its skin's outline. Its appearance was very savage and brutal; it also roared loudly when it appeared to establish its majesty.
Although the undead skeleton warrior had some muscle memories leftover from his original body, the low soul-level and wisdom hindered its body's reaction speed. Because of this, its hands and feet were not well coordinated. When it saw a giant monster suddenly appeared in front of him, it was actually stunned for a moment and hit the summoned bear without any pause, causing it to retreated backward afterward at high speed because of the bouncing force.
And finally, after a few involuntary summersault, it fell to the ground.
When the summoned giant bear saw its prey fall to the ground, it roared in excitement, then it was about to rush forward to land the final blow, but Punk hurriedly gave it an order to stop,
"Can't you see how many undeads are over there? Are you not afraid because of your hasty final hit? You will fail to earn the main achievement! (TL Note: Reference from LoL)" Punk was sincerely worried about the IQ of this summoned creature.

If there is no instruction from the summoner, it will act according to instinct. So although it was a high-quality meat shield, it was definitely not a reliable helper.
Punk again released a "secondary catapult" toward the skeleton warrior, who felled on the ground. This time, the skeleton, who had just sat up from the ground and was still confused, could not escape the spell again.
The catapult spell's flying stone accurately penetrated into the undead warrior's skull with the help of the system's aim correction. The low-level soul flames that had lost the skulls' protection were quickly extinguished. The death aura that was lingering around the long sword also dissipated promptly without a trace, and the undead warrior had once again become an immobile bone frame.
On the other side, the female priest used holy light to restrain the undead warrior, formed a gorgeous little hammer, and started to smash it from all directions. Soon the skeleton warrior's body, which was as tough as iron, became a pile of bones.
But simultaneously, the armor on the skeleton warrior's body also became uneven due to the repeated hits from the war hammer, which made Punk very distressed.
The armor that was being destroyed by the lady priest was clearly beckoning gold coins. Now, those armors were distorted so badly that they can only be recycled as raw materials. And the raw materials have only one-fifth of the value of a complete armor.
" This Prodigal bitch!" Punk can only gnash his teeth at the violent behavior of this female priest. Punk, who has always believed that "waste is a crime," now had to watch the female priest who was committing countless crimes in the name of "purifying all evil." Punk's heart was filled with resentment.
But soon, Punk didn't have time to get angry anymore; because the skeleton warrior was obviously unwilling to die like this.

When the soul inside the broken skull of this skeleton warrior was about to be purified by the holy light from the war hammer,
The soul flame, which became very dim and was swaying like a candle in the wind, suddenly burst in a blinding bright green brilliance.
Although not audible, but the roar that can be clearly sensed by the soul was transmitted from the skeleton warrior's soul.
The despair and anger contained in that final soul fluctuations instantly resonated among the undeads throughout the forest.
The undead was such a creature that, sometimes, the fierceness within them was not inferior to the devil from that endless abyss, sometimes they have incredible unity and cooperation,
and now, the roar of the dying undead triggered this instinct amongst all the undeads in this entire forest.
The green light in their eye sockets started to glow more vigorously, and hundreds of undead together burst out in anger with a wave of soul fluctuation,
which directly hit the soul. The soul fluctuation even made Punk feel a kind of deafening illusion at the spiritual level.
A large number of undeads turned their heads one after another, staring straight at the Punk and priest with glowing green hollow eyes, and the whole forest became silent for a while.
But as the first undead roared and started to rush towards the priest lady, all the undead began to move forward, and they launched a march towards them.
" I will be taking my leave for now, but this is definitely not the end. I, Irene, swears under the witness of the God of light, I will definitely come back to purify these evil undeads"!
Seeing that many undead led by the four skeleton warriors slowly began to surround Punk and herself,
The female priest finally dispelled the idea of attacking and decided to temporarily retreat.
But things didn't go as smoothly as the lady pastor planned.
"My brave Miss pastor, as a believer in the God of Light, how can you shrink from the evil? Let me help you stand firmly on the front line in the fight against evil." Just when the female priest decided to turn and leave, she heard Punk's voice, which seemed to have come from the deepest part of hell, then suddenly, a large number of vines suddenly protruded from the ground and firmly bound the priest's ankle.
"You crazy heretic…....." the priest stumbled as she was pulled by the vines. Although she freed herself just after a few seconds, it was too late; a level 3 skeleton warrior was already close to the priest.
The female priest had to activate a divine defensive magic spell on her enchanted robe to block.
She could not believe that Punk would trouble her in such a crisis, but when she saw Punk, whose face was half covered in the shadow of the hood, the unbelievable expression on her face immediately turned into surprise and then quickly turned into anger.
At this time, Punk and his summoned brown bear were covered in undead aura without a trace of life energy fluctuations. The aura of a mage that was so clear just a few moments ago has long disappeared. Because of this, no undead approached Punk; all the undead rushed toward the priest in a swarm; not even a single skeleton stayed near Punk.
"Apprentice-level conjuration spells-breath disguise,
it really deserves the title of best disguise spell under trainee level!" A sly smile hung on the corner of the Punk's mouth,
and his figure in the gloomy enchanted robe became eerier than the undeads next to him. The big brown bear couldn't help but shrink its head after looking at its summoner and stayed motionless.

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!

The Faction Contributor [Sci-Fi LitRPG]
While casually studying for his upcoming university exam, Aven suddenly felt the world around him start warping. It started with flashes of light appearing from nowhere, quickly escalating into his whole world becoming an absolute mess of flickering pixels and chaotic color flows, as if reality had become a malfunctioning glitched screen. What he could recognize as numbers, letters, and strange symbols flew everywhere around him, obviously trying to form a coherent whole to be displayed before his eyes, but such attempts kept failing, again and again. Before he could even start thinking about how both mesmerizing and absurd this spectacle was, however, it all stopped, as suddenly as it had begun. Accompanying the end of this unique show, 2 things happened. First, knowledge had spontaneously appeared in his mind and he could perfectly understand it, as if it had always been there, just inaccessible. Second, a weird simultaneously hot and cold energy had made its apparition inside his body completely unannounced. Aven had just simply and purely awakened his innate ability and the energy potential of his cells, joining the world of the supers, a minority that had always controlled and protected the world since ancient times, by becoming one of them. *** Do you have a sci-fi itch to scratch?
