《Master of the System 》Chapter 151

Rachel flew through the air in a massive warship. She was flying over a vast forest, heading towards the peak of a mountain. It was where the Snow Fire Lightning Fruit was located. One of the things she purchased from the shop was the fruit’s location. It had required her to uphold justice twenty-five times, but she felt like it was worth it. There was no other way for her to find the location of something a false immortal was eyeing. Information like that wasn’t freely available on the internet. She did raid one of the empire’s military facilities, but the only piece of information she got was the Snow Fire Lightning Fruit would naturally be sensed by those able to consume it. As someone who had passed the tribulation of the body and tribulation of the mind, she wasn’t sure why she wasn’t sensing the fruit, but she figured she wasn’t fated for it. It wasn’t like she needed it anyway; inside of the shop, there was an item she could purchase that would instantly allow her to pass the tribulation of the spirit, helping her ascend. She had already seen the greatness of the shop when it let her pass her tribulation of the mind without any pain. All she had to do was stab herself with a needle and inject a glowing green fluid inside.
Now, Rachel was simply here to cause trouble for Jade. The woman had trapped her inside of a bubble for half a millennium. Before that experience, the longest she had been held up by someone was fifteen minutes. The warship she had borrowed from the empire was one meant for conquering planets that hadn’t achieved the feat of launching themselves into space. It was equipped with weapons capable of razing mountains and destroying cities unprotected by formations. Since she didn’t need the Snow Fire Lightning Fruit, she was just going to blowup the mountaintop. The warship traveled at a rapid pace, her strength as a false immortal capable of driving the thing by herself. When she arrived at the top, she inserted her spiritual energy into the warship’s radar, scanning everything around her.

Rachel raised an eyebrow. According to the radar, there were a total of three individuals in the nearby vicinity with the strength equivalent to a false immortal. One was in space, floating a few miles away from her in a BAR. She assumed it was Bullet King. Another individual was standing on the mountaintop, and the third individual was hiding inside the ground, seemingly waiting to ambush the second. Since the BAR was piloted by Bullet King, that meant Jade as one of the two individuals down below. Without hesitation, Rachel flipped the glass plate up and pressed a big red button. Streams of spiritual energy gathered from the top of the ship and flowed down to the bottom, concentrating on one of the cannons. The metal barrel glowed with a golden light, and a beam of energy as thick as a city shot down like lightning.
Before the beam of light could make contact with the mountaintop, it curved to the side and revolved a few times in a spherical manner before disappearing. Rachel pursed her lips. She hadn’t seen Jade fight; the only technique the ex-sect leader knew Jade had was the bubble barrier. It seemed like it wouldn’t be so easy to thwart Jade’s plans, but it wasn’t like Rachel was counting on the warship anyway. She flew out of the warship, piercing through its walls because she was too lazy to locate the exit in the mazelike structure.
Upon seeing the figure on top of the mountain, Rachel blinked. Wasn’t that Elder Vremya from the Moon Lotus Sect? A strange expression appeared on Rachel’s face as she descended to the ground next to the old man. “Were you the one who stopped my attack?”
“Obviously.”
Rachel’s gaze traveled up and down Grandpa Vremya’s body. A dark expression appeared on her face. It seemed like the four hundred seventy years she had been trapped had really set her back. The boy she had met when she was a nascent-soul cultivator was now on the same level of strength as her. She, who had always been hailed as a genius, had actually been caught up to by someone from the younger generation. It was a testament to Grandpa Vremya’s greatness, but she took it as a testament to her weakness. “You….” Her eyes gleamed. “Do you want to have a spar?”

Grandpa Vremya frowned. Had Rachel come here to make trouble for him? “Did you come here just to have a spar with me?” That couldn’t be it, right? She had vanished for half a millennium just to show up at the final moment. More than likely, she was here for the fruit as well.
“No,” Rachel said, “but since I’m here, I might as well.” Her eyes shifted towards the ground. “I’m actually here to get revenge against the false immortal who contained me for half a millennium. If she thinks she can get away with trapping me for that long, she’s wrong. Even if she hides in the ground like a dirty rat, I’ll find her.”
Grandpa Vremya nodded. He knew Jade hadn’t left and was just biding her time like the BAR in the sky. However, was he concerned? Of course not. The fruit would appear on his location, and as the closest person to it, obviously, it’d land in his hands. No doubt, the two false immortals would attack him, but they couldn’t even break through his defenses, so why would he worry?
“In fact, I’ll go deal with her right now,” Rachel said. Destroying the fruit, giving the fruit to Grandpa Vremya, it didn’t matter to Rachel as long as Jade didn’t get it. If it weren’t for the illusionary words providing her with a way to advance in cultivation, Rachel would’ve contested Grandpa Vremya for the fruit, but since she had this special helper, she didn’t feel any qualms about helping a fellow sect member become stronger. After all, once they both ascended, wouldn’t they be in the same area? Having an ally was better than not when in a foreign environment. Even if they were an incompetent piglike ally, they could still be abandoned as a distraction to escape.
Grandpa Vremya watched as Rachel flew back into the ship. Although the spiritual sense of a false immortal was immense, the radar was a tool meant for amplifying one’s searching ability. She’d be stupid not to use it. Moments after Rachel ascended the warship, its engines hummed, and the ship plummeted towards the ground. Its hull heated up, glowing orange, as it descended, lighting up like a comet. It crashed into the earth with a massive explosion, sending shockwaves towards Grandpa Vremya. He merely raised one hand and summoned a black hole, defending the whole peak from being damaged.
In the crater created by the falling warship, two figures flew out: Jade and Rachel. Jade glared at Rachel. “Are you sure you want to fight right now? The Snow Fire Lightning Fruit will appear soon. At that time, we’ll be exhausted from our fight while the rest of them will be in peak condition.”
“Excellent,” Rachel said, unsheathing her sword. Without saying another word, she charged forwards, slashing her weapon in the same movement.
Grandpa Vremya stroked his beard. If one of the phoegons were here, he could use it as a chair to watch the two women fight. Unfortunately, the phoegons were hiding on the ship with Azalea to keep them out of danger. Since that was the case, Grandpa Vremya would have to stand instead.
