Rise Of The Worm Sovereign Chapter 109

At the Lu clan mansion.
The clan head was sitting in the grand hall and was listening to the daily reports from the stewards and other juniors of his clan. This was one of his main duties as the clan head and also a rather boring part. But he never showed it as such and fully focused on the things that were being said.
Accompanying him were a few of the elders of his clan and the people related to the matter that was being discussed.
"Our shops have suffered a loss of 8% in the last month, while the traders have instead increased their profits by 14%. We suspect that they may be undercutting us in the trade routes and showing us the wrong ones." The Junior of the clan reported.
"Hmm, send someone to check if the other clans were affected too, and report back to me." Clan head Lu said after thinking for a minute.
"As you wish, clan head." The Junior clasped his head and went away to do his work.
~Sigh~
Clan head Lu let out a breath as he rubbed his forehead. The last few weeks have been hectic and a lot of things had happened which honestly overwhelmed him a bit. He almost felt like he should enter seclusion and leave the rest of the matters to the other elders instead.
But then he shook his head and laughed in his mind.
'They are not ready… why does my clan not have a good successor yet?' The Clan head questioned himself as another sigh escaped his lips.
While there were quite a few juniors in his clan that were capable and talented, none of them could be said to be qualified to lead a clan. Clan head Lu would never pass the seat of the clan head to them unless he had no choice left.

While thinking of this, his mind wandered to Young Master Shirong.
'Now that is a capable and wise young man. I wonder if… something could be arranged…' Clan head Lu wondered as he stroked his chin.
He wanted someone that would be good enough to lead his clan and had the wisdom to do it too. He knew that such things could not be found easily and were related to the bloodline. Sadly in his clan, even after so many years, none of his descendants were decent enough.
After he came into power, it was as if the luck of the clan in terms of talent had fallen. While the clan had greatly grown and became richer since then, it had fallen in terms of the quality of people.
Clan head Lu couldn't help but think of his grandchildren. He had lived for over five hundred years now and had a lot of descendants. He had also seen a lot of his descendants die due to old age too. They could at most reach the core condensation realm, having the life span of three hundred years.
Right now, he had a little over a hundred grandchildren, if he remembered correctly. He filtered them out and picked the granddaughters that he had in his mind.
"Hmm, which one would the young master like…" Clan head Lu muttered to himself.
He wouldn't dare propose a marriage between his clan and the Ji clan; NO, they had no power to do that. What he merely wanted was to have the bloodline of young master Shirong to mix with his clan's. If one of his granddaughters were to get impregnated by the young master, it would solve this problem of his.
Heck, if the Young master wanted it, he would give all of his granddaughters to him. That would only be that much more good as it would mean more choice from the pool of descendants.

Clan head Lu still had a little more than four hundred years of his lifespan left, which was more than enough for him to raise a successor for his position.
"That's it!" Clan Head Lu suddenly exclaimed.
All the elders and the juniors in the room were startled due to the sudden action of their clan head.
"Father, what's the problem?" Asked one of the old men sitting in the room.
This person looked even more older than Clan head Lu but was evidently one of his sons. It could be perceived from this what the distance between a core condensation realm cultivator and a nascent soul realm expert was.
"Problem? No! What I have is a solution instead!" Clan Head Lu said as he laughed a bit and stroked his beard.
"Lu Peng, we'll be having a grand banquet tomorrow and the guest of honor will be Young master Shirong. I want you to get all of my granddaughters ready to serve him to the best of their abilities." Clan head Lu ordered.
Lu Peng's eyes went wide as he realized the true meaning behind his father's words.
"I understand, father. It shall be done and sister Miao shall personally see to it that the girls are ready." Lu Peng replied.
The other elders also understood what was happening here after learning that sister Miao was involved. This sister Miao of theirs was a woman of great beauty, but that was not all. She was also strong and had a cultivation base that was at the peak stage of the core condensation realm.
But her specialty was actually in the seduction arts, which she excelled at. She had been quite helpful in making some business deals and had helped the clan grow quite a bit.
"Speaking of Young master Shirong, what is he up to these days?" Asked one of the elders that was sitting near Lu Peng.
"From the last report I heard, he has been cultivating in seclusion since the day he came back." Lu Peng replied
"Good, good, young men should be like this. I'll go and personally invite him for the banquet. Let's hope he…" Clan head Lu spoke and trailed off at the end as his eyes went wide and his face turned pale.
"NOO!!!" Clan head Lu shouted as he flew up, breaking through the roof of the mansion.

The fallen (?) hero and Aži Dahāka's soul fragment
I have to apologize.A certain real life problem that I thought I got rid of has caught up to me once again.I tried to continue writing, but my mind was not in the right track to do so and thus, as some people had said, the quality of the latest 2 chapters had turned from the usual "bad" to "worst". So, I reluctantly have to say that I will be away until I can sort things out.I can't say when, but I do intend to return to writing. I might lurk around to read other people's works though. I will be turning my attention to stories with "tragedy" and "despair". The five of us were summoned to this world from our clubroom two years ago to be made as heroes.Shouldn't forceful summoning like that be counted as kidnapping?Well, we chose to go with the heroes route. After harsh training and battles, not to mention all the killings, we finally defeated the demon lord. However, all those achievements literally became nothing, it wasn't just forgotten, it was erased to be totally nothing as even the written records were somehow being disposed of. I was too naive. Who would have thought that the side we have been fighting alongside with, the side we were fighting for, was the one to bring our demise? After I had to see everyone else turn into nothingness, somehow... I alone survived. Note: I will attempt to fix the grammar problem with the help of lieutenant colonel fletterman. This may delay the release of future chapter. Chapter 1 is fixed. Chapter 2 is fixed.
