Under the dimly lit sky, the strong glow of the headlight beam illuminated Ning Jing's haggard figure as the hot streaks of tears ran down from her tired eyes.

The engine of Maybach slowly died off and the very next moment, Tang Wei Sheng's extremely striking figure got down from the back seat of the car.

Withering in pain, Ning Jing dragged her injured body and limped towards the car,

The Alpha team under the leadership of Zhang Zhi Jun and Huang Zi Tao remained highly cautious and held their position as they waited for Li Juan.

Looking at the extremely hostile situation, Ahn Lu Shan and Yang Xiong immediately got down from the car and guarded Tang Wei Sheng.

When Ahn Lu Shan informed his boss about handing over Ning Jing to the Bai family, he never thought Tang Wei Sheng will arrive in Xi city in person despite the difficult times at capital city.

But who would knew that as soon as they reached the riverside mansion, they will run into such a terrorizing sight?

Oblivious to the surroundings, Tang Wei Sheng's sharp eyes were fixed on Ning Jing's teary face that has overcome with shock.

"Wei Sheng help me...She will kill me...Li Juan...she is here," Ning Jing swallowed a mouthful of air and wailed.

However, there wasn't a shred of pity in Tang Wei Sheng's eyes as he continued to look at the pathetic form of Ning Jing.

Her pretty face and clothes were smeared with dirt and sweat. Crimson coloured blood dripped from the wounds on palms and bare feet. Anyone could figure out that she was mercilessly attacked and was running away to save her life.

"Wei Sheng, look, Li Juan...she did this to me...she is going to kill me-" Before Ning Jing could elaborate, she was interrupted,

"Why would Li Juan kill you?" Tang Wei Sheng asked calmly as his curious eyes scanned her.

Though he sounded highly composed and collected, Yang Xiong was the only one who knew that it was just the silence before the storm.

"She hates me...she hates me for meddling with your life and taking you away from her," Ning Jing blabbered out in fear as she continuously glanced back while checking for Li Juan.

"So you do admit, whatever you took was originally hers," Tang Wei Sheng's voice laced with haughtiness rang clearly in the air,

The instant Ning Jing heard his words, her eyeballs shook in the realization that she spoke out something that was supposed to remain a secret.

All of sudden, a trail of footsteps broke the awkward silence of Ning Jing and she subconsciously turned towards the direction of the sound, only to witness Li Juan striding towards her.

As Li Juan's tall and slender figure gradually revealed under the sparse amount of light, Tang Wei Sheng's eyes lit like diamonds. The corners of his tightened lips relaxed to reveal a smile that no one has ever seen.

However, the moment, her gorgeous face covered in blood became visible, his eyes flashed with an imperceptible glint of murder.

Li Juan was also injured.

At the very same moment, Ning Jing's eyes bulged out in fear when she noticed the momentary change of expressions on Tang Wei Sheng.

When Ning Jing appeared in her injured and pathetic form, Tang Wei Sheng remained nonchalant without even saying a word of comfort. However, the way he reacted towards Li Juan itself was proof of his undying love for her.

"No!!!! I can't afford to let Li Juan have her way and reveal the truth to Tang Wei Sheng," Ning Jing said inwardly and quickly thought of a plan.

"She is here to seek revenge, she will...she will kill our child," Ning Jing touched her abdomen and rattled the first lie that came to her mind to avert his attention from Li Juan.

Tang Wei Sheng slightly raised an eyebrow as he looked at Ning Jing who stood with a flustered face. The pair of his almond eyes narrowed lazily, not in the least wary or surprised at all with her declaration.

"Hmm, our child?" Tang Wei Sheng glimpsed at her and repeated her words as if he failed to discern.

Even Li Juan and the rest of the men looked dumbstruck as they listened to Ning Jing's claims. None of them has expected her to pull out a trump card that could turn the tables.

A child? What rubbish is she talking about?

When she noticed the confused expressions on the faces surrounding her, Ning Jing stated loudly,

"Yes, our child,"

"Their morals won't allow them to attack a pregnant woman, right? Li Juan will never raise a hand against me if I claim that I'm pregnant with Tang Wei Sheng's child?" Ning Jing reassured her doubtful mind and reached out to hold the man who stood before her.

However, before she could touch him, Tang Wei Sheng lifted his hand and stopped her.

"Do you want me to believe that lie?" He said with a roguish laugh and shrugged his shoulder as if he heard some kind of joke.

Ning Jing's face immediately flushed deep red and it was not known whether it was from humiliation or anger.

"No...I am not lying....believe me...that night we...we slept together and made love," She tried hard to sound genuine as she explained.

"Made love? What a joke!!!" Tang Wei Sheng snickered and averted his gaze from her as if he is disgusted by Ning Jing,

"My tastes haven't stoop down that low to mate with a filthy snake like you,"

Brimming with confidence a moment ago, Ning Jing who had thought of a risky plan of faking her pregnancy would save her neck stared at Tang Wei Sheng in utter disbelief.

How blatant and cruel were his words.

Such a humiliation in front of a bunch of men and Li Juan.

If it was somebody else, she would have pulled the tongue that dared to talk to her like that.

However, her current situation was nothing but trapped between the devil and the sea.

She had no other option but to hammer down the lie that she is pregnant with the Tang family's child.

Yang Xiong who was worried about death immediately exchanged glances with Ahn Lu Shan and Li Juan, who apparently remained indifferent as if they don't care.

He was the one who continuously witnessed the changes in Tang Wei Sheng and the random surfacing of his dangerous alter ego.

After came to know about the Tang family's wrongdoings, Yang Xiong couldn't identify whether it was Tang Wei Sheng or Tang Wei Lang who is acting out.

As per his observations, there were only two possible reasons for the appearance of alter ego- Either Tang Wei Sheng's consciousness is too weak to handle the stress and anger or when Li Juan's life is threatened.

What happens when these two possibilities occur together? Yang Xiong gulped in horror and prayed to the heavens to avoid a blood spill.

"How annoying!!!!" Tang Wei Sheng winced in detest before interrogating Ning Jing,

"You were lurking around him for a quite long time and still you have no idea about me?"

Ning Jing was lost at words. She had no idea what he was talking about.

The only thing she could figure out was the horrifying imperious aura lingering on Tang Wei Sheng, which is different from his normal self.

"Huh...there she is," His dark eyes swept over the haggard figure of Ning Jing and rested over Li Juan who stood there silently watching the drama unveiling before her.

The moment, their eyes met, Tang Wei Sheng slowly walked towards her, making everyone anxious.

As he moved closer, the alpha team got into their attacking position on the fear of Li Juan's safety.

However, unlike others, Li Juan remained docile and unflinching, while her dark eyes were fixed on the man who stood an arm's length away from her.

Though he looked like Tang Wei Sheng, his ice-cold demeanor and dominant aura around him reminded Li Juan of her biggest fear.

The tyrannical look on his face was something she cannot forget even if she turns into ashes.

His gleaming dark eyes scrutinized every inch of Li Juan's face, his expressions turning grim as time goes.

Other than the bleeding wound above her eyebrow, there were several cuts and scratches on the side of her face and neck,

Tang Wei Sheng lifted his palm to touch her face but retracted his fingers when he almost touched her skin.

"She did this?" He sounded infuriated,

"Is that even a question?" Li Juan huffed and sent a glare at Ning Jing who was trembling in fear. She casually lifted her palm and wiped the blood as if it is not a big deal.

"It is nothing when compared to what your family and Ning Jing has done to me,"

"Are you complaining to me?" Tang Wei Sheng asked with a tint of surprise,

The Li Juan whom he knew was always on guard against him, but however this time it was different. Rather than acquiring a defensive demeanour, she remained unflinching and firm.

"You are no different from them," She added in an aloof tone.

"Hey don't insult me like that," Tang Wei Sheng went on to say teasingly "How this snake and I can be on the same level?"

"Ah..my mistake. You are eviler than them," Li Juan gave an impassive shrug,

"As expected from my sharp-tongued moon," He emphasized and turned in the direction of Ning Jing as a sneer hung over the ends of his mouth. "So she is the one who hurt you,"

"Mm," Li Juan nodded her head.

The entire group of men stared at the duo and their strange conversation in disbelief. Ning Jing who expected Tang Wei Sheng to speak in support of her, gritted in contempt and spat out her anger.

"Wei Sheng, what are you doing? Why are you listening to her? She is lying...she is one who tried to kill me...kill our child,"

Tang Wei Sheng tilted his head and looked at Li Juan as if he is asking for her explanation.

"Do you care to explain, the reasons why I should attack you? Li Juan asked monotonously, as she decided to make use of the trap that Ning Jing has created for herself.

"Do I have any specific reasons to kill you, miss Ning?"

Ning Jing was left speechless for a moment. She couldn't believe that Li Juan went directly for the shady questionable things she has done to achieve her goals.

"It's because...because I," Ning Jing struggled to find words,

"Because you loved Tang Wei Sheng," Ahn Lu Shan who stood silent until now, opened his mouth and helped out Ning Jing.

Hearing his words, Ning Jing looked at Ahn Lu Shan, her eyes gleaming in gratitude. At least, there was still someone on her side.

"You loved him so much that you tried to kill Li Juan, whom Tang Wei Sheng cherished the most," Ahn Lu Shan's words rumbled like thunder.
