Li Juan frantically pressed the elevator button for the top floor and looked at the LED screen which shows the floor number.

"Aiishh why it is so slow today," She cussed and pressed again.

As soon as the elevator reached the top floor, Li Juan rushed out like a bullet fired from a pistol, aiming towards the door of their penthouse.

The sound of her stilettos resounded in the empty corridor,

Li Juan abruptly stopped in her tracks and bent down to remove the high heels which are prohibiting from running,

She unfasten the straps and picked up her foot wears in hands before running towards the door.

She stood erect in front the door to steady her breath and quickly pressed the pass code.

The moment door got opened and Li Juan's nostrils were attacked by the thick stench of strong tobacco,

Cough, cough" Li Juan felt suffocated as she walked towards the living room.

On the couch, Lee Tae Yang sat devastated like a king who lost a war.

Countless cigarette butts were snubbed out on the ash tray resting on the coffee table. His expensive suit was carelessly tossed on the floor.

On his long and slender finger he held a burning cigarette and a glass of alcohol on the other hand.

His fair face had a tinge of red, due to the alcohol consumption.

"Tae Yang...cough..cough..what are you-" Li Juan tried to ask

"I thought you are not coming back," He avoided her eyes and said.

Some thing is wrong,

His voice appeared unusually cold...so cold that it almost freeze Li Juan who walked to open the balcony.

"Is that why you decided to "celebrate" by your own at home?"

She asked and opened the balcony to let the fresh air get inside,

"Home," He smiled upon that word and took a sip from the brown liquid,

"I never know that you smoke," She moved towards him and picked up the ash tray, however the moment her fingers touched the ash try, Lee Tae Yang stopped her,

Their eyes locked for a moment and he immediately reverted his gaze as he replied in a guilty tone,

"Once in a while... When I am under stress...I need a smoke,"

"What is there to stress? I thought you are happy since you became the business man of the year,"

"Nothing, you look tired, go to bed early," He suggested and stood up from the seat.

"Tae Yang, are you sure that you don't want to talk about it?"

"No. Good night," He ended the conversation and picked up the ash try,

Li Juan looked at him in disbelief,

Is he really giving her a cold shoulder?

"Tae Yang, what's wrong-"

"Can you leave me alone for a moment?" He raised his voice in a dejected tone, shutting Li Juan all at once.

Taken aback by his change of nature, Li Juan left the living room without uttering a word, slamming the door with a loud sound,

He stared at the closed door and took out a small black box from his pant's pocket.

For the past few days he has been preparing to propose Li Juan.

He went to the Guan family's ancestral home and picked up the ring which has been kept for his bride from the vault. Even redesigned it according to Li Juan's likes.

He was waiting for Chen Da Meng to bring the ring from the designer.

She quickly changed into a royal looking silk gown and went to the living room only to find that Lee Tae Yang was still smoking in the balcony.

"How long he is been smoking?"

She angrily darted towards him and snatched out the cigarette from his lips, dumped into the trash bin.

"What the hell are you doing? Do you want to die early?" She asked him in a reprimanding tone,

Lee Tae Yang who was still under the effect of alcohol, frowned and remained stoic to her actions.

"Come inside, let's talk," She grabbed his sturdy arm and dragged him inside the living room.

However looking at the mess in the living room, Li Juan scrunched up her face and looked at Tae Yang who was dead silent.

His tipsy face was flushed red and he reeked of mixed scent of alcohol and tobacco,

She let out a sigh and pulled him to his room,

"Go and take a shower," She ordered and pointed towards the bathroom, "We will talk when you come back,"

Lee Tae Yang slightly nodded and followed her orders, ripping the buttons of his shirt on the way to the bathroom.

Li Juan gasped and went back to her room,

Once the cold shower washed off his worries, Lee Tae Yang stepped out of the shower and met with Li Juan's dark eyes sparkling with a hint of startlement.

He was quite surprised to see Li Juan inside the room,

She sat on his bed, one of her leg resting on the other and her slender arms crossed across the bosom.

She did look like a wife who was suspecting her husband for cheating?

"Hello miss, its you who broke your promise and cheated your boyfriend," He wanted to say,

"Are you going to stand there naked all the night?" She inquired with a poker face,

Oh yeah, he just came out of the shower wrapping a towel over his lower body,

His lean, sculptured jade like body appeared more attractive after the shower. His muscles were symmetrically balanced on his chest and abdomen, giving him a perfect v-line shaped body. The lines below his hips were prominent, however Li Juan's eyes were fixed on the wheel and anchor tattoo on his chest muscles.

He haughtily smirked and walked towards the closet room to get changed,

As soon as his half naked body vanished behind the closet room, Li Juan covered her mouth and screamed inside,

She almost had a nose bleed watching him like that.

After a few minutes, Lee Tae Yang came back wearing fresh clothes.

"Take a seat," She asked with an indifferent face and gently patted the spot next to her,

Lee Tae Yang obediently sat beside her and gave a side long glance.

"I think you should take a look at this," She passed a diary which had few book marks,

He extended his arm and took the diary from her hands.

One look at the beautiful and neat handwriting, he realized that the diary belonged to Li Juan,

"Read it," Li Juan requested,

Lee Tae Yang cleared his throat and started to read in his deep and low voice,

"There is a voice which often rings in my mind, even if I standing in the middle of bustling street, or in a roaring sea shore, or on a thunderous night- his soothing voice puts me in peace,

While I am lying alone on the cold bed, i often remembers, the warmth of an embrace and familiar scent which promises me that I am not alone.

Lee Tae Yang's eyes widened in surprise as he quickly turned the pages of the diary.

"Everyone thought that Bai Yue Ling will become one of emperor's concubine, but deep in her heart she loved someone else and waited for him.

"I know that you are upset because of Tang Wei Sheng," She stated,

"Li Juan from four months ago loved a man named Dai Liang and now Bai Yue Ling wants to be with someone named Lee Tae Yang. I admit that I didn't confess my feelings." She stopped for a moment and continued,

"But CEO Lee, why are you so dense that you failed to read between lines?"

Lee Tae Yang stared at Li Juan with moist eyes.
