Celestial Peak Chapter 488

The Thousand God City, a magnificent land surrounded by steep mountain ranges. Several dangerous Beasts and Savages dwell on its lands, it was a gathering of experts but it was more known for it being the location of the most acclaimed Regal God Congregation.
Babambam!
War Drums echoes into the great distance. The windows shook and the crowds of Immortals clapped as the announcement of the Regal Gods Congregation commenced after months of waiting.
The Thousand God City was split into two parts. Outer and Inner with the former being the location of the buildings and several establishments that would accommodate the guests who were not a part of the Major Powers.
In the Outer Areas, only members of the Primordial Clans and the Major Powers could own a business and private lands. The entire city was owned by the Coalition. The majority earned here would be used for several projects that would support the front of the battlefield. The rest would be an incentive for the Major Forces to use in order to grow their forces.
There were many Cities and Worlds that have structures like this. A War does not operate in sentiments, and in this kind of war that never ends, the Major Powers had to do their best in order to earn as much money to fund their fight for survival.
As for the former part of the city, that would be the single Plateau in the middle of the City. A Plateau that reaches the clouds and was on the level of the highest Cosmic Road. Atop this Plateau have a total of twenty-six thrones to accommodate the members of Coalition. Its name was the Throne of the Regal Gods.
It had a throne for the Ten Great Families, the Seven Towers, the Three Immortal Sects, the Four Deities, and the Two Origin Races. But today, its throne would only have a total of twenty occupants as the Six Primordial Races would not be attending for untold reasons.
Most of the time
The War Drums' echo was the gong for its beginning. Old and young Immortals alike could feel the excitement. Their hearts were in trepidation, their breathing hastened!
The people gathered on the edge of the wall-less city. In a City where flying was normal, there was no need for walls. The Ascended Cultivators waited for the anchored Sailers outside of the city.

They stared into the distance, the massive Sailers, boarded by the members Family Heads were so near, yet it felt so far. An unattainable Rank, a dream. But, seeing this massive show of power also made them felt assure that such people were leading them.
"Look, the Sailers of the Dang Family is moving!"
As a Rank-7 Cultivator the Ascended Cultivators pointed out, one after another the rest of the Ships from the Major Powers began moving as well. The Sailers anchored in place through mysterious means began moving, their grand aura exuded an awe-inspiring light.
A total of Nineteen Massive Sailers that blotted out the skies began to move. The people had their heads raised.
But the people still waited for one infamous Sailer, the one that should carry the Sword Tower. The people waited for its appearance, but as the Sailers got closer to the edge of the city, the Sword Tower's Sailer never even appeared.
"So, is the Sword Tower really not going to come out with their Compressed Sailers?" Sporting the look of a middle-aged muscular man Dang Gu, the current Head of the Dang Family said, disappointed, "I really wanted to make a deal with them. We haven't made progress in replicating such spatial manipulation. Tang Yu, that bastard will get it once he arrives here!"
"Don't try anything with him again, Father, it is really hard to deal with the Sword Tower." A beautiful Young Lady accompanying Dang Gu exasperatedly uttered, "Also, I heard the Sword God and the Slaughter Emperor Spear was also there, so couldn't the Compressed Sailers from them?"
"Dang Biyu, you see, your Father cannot antagonize those two due to them being a part of the Ancestral Age. An Emperor's Domain can never match that God's Domain." Dang Gu admitted his weakness to his daughters with shame.
"Father, please don't act like that when we arrive on the Plateau, Mother sent me here to make sure you don't embarrass yourself like you did in the past. Don't make this any harder for your daughter."
"Ha! Do you think you can stop me, Biyu?" Dang Gu saw the look of despair on his daughter's face and laughed, "Don't worry, if you don't tell about it to your mother then nothing would be known, my daughter. Mu Wei even brought a cask of that Immortal Seven Wonder Wine from the Insane Spear."

"…You know I cannot do that, Father. If you were planning that then you shouldn't have brought me here in the first place then." Dang Biyu protested.
Dang Gu grinned at the plight of his daughter's predicament, "Of course, that is to introduce you to the true face of the Congregation like how my Father did for me in the past. Hehe, you'll see soon enough."
Dang Gu grinned and at the same time the same dark and grim expression appeared on the faces of the Family Heads inside their Sailers. Their companions who would be joining them in the Congregation were all feeling a sense of doom looming over them.
===
"Hooh, that's quite good, so, are they just going to leave the Sailers outside of the City?"
"Yes, no one would see them go into the Plateau anyway, only when the announcement of the start would others learn of their arrival. But, seeing how the Sailers already stopped moving, they should already be at the top of the plateau proceeding with the… " Butler Sun who was in the midst of explanation stopped his words.
"What is it, Butler Sun? I need every information I can get from you."
"It's… an initiation."
"Is it something sinister?"
"No, it is…" Butler Sun was at a loss for words.
"You'll understand when you see it, Wang." Yuan Qing came to Butler Sun's rescue.
"Do not talk big to him, Black Turtle." Kareem who was currently wearing a plain black mask reprimanded Yuan Qing for her overly casual
"Meerak, that is enou—"
"Don't talk to us like that, Devil. You want to go?" Yuan Ming and Yuan Qing also did not like Kareem's tone.
"You two, that is enough as well." Qinyang said but the bickering between the Devil Emperor and the two Deities did not stop, "Kind of make you wish Roan, was here, right, Sir Ling?"
Kareem's ears perked up as he waited for Wang Ling's words. When Wang Ling saw this he just smiled, saying, "Who knows, Roan was often drunk but he did not bicker so much with the twins."
Hearing Wang Ling made Kareem feel dejected, but, his words were not enough, "But Meerak is more thorough and elegant, they have their own strengths."
As Kareem regained his spirits so did his elegance. His back became straight and the aura of elegance surrounded him.
"Stop, no one is no longer allowed while the Congregation is in session!"
A man in a masked suddenly shouted at a group walking in the middle of the road. The man was wearing a mask, and around them, everyone could feel the presence of other guards.
The group did not stop, however. The watchers were just about to make a move when, all of a sudden, they noticed the three people walking with the group, "Swo-Sword God? Ah! The Sword God and the First and Sixth Swords are here!"
The masked swordsman stuttered as he spoke of their identity, however, he still stood his ground seeing there were others trying to enter the plateau.
"To-tower Masters, please, your companions cannot enter the Plateau—" the masked watcher suddenly felt his breath shortening as the Sixth Sword bearing the Red Mask turned to him, but, he kept talking, "O-only one companion can be brought to the plateau."
"You are an admirable member of the Sword Tower. Keeping to your belief even at the face of danger, I like that. The fifth Brother is doing a good job." Tang Ai laughed seeing such a frightened man, "But do not worry, everyone here is a part of the Congregation. They are the Representatives of the Primordial Races."
Without saying anything, Kareem showed five pairs of wings. the twins showed a Black and Blue medallion, and Qinyang a Vermillion Medalion.
As for Wang Ling, he just raised a White Medallion he received from Qinyang.
As they walked past everyone else, Wang Ling prepared himself for the Congregation. He was silent as he and the others rose from the ground and into the air.
The Ascended saw this odd sight and as they did so, the people pointed at them.
The Congregation had began and eventually they reached the top of the Plateau and when they did, Wang Ling's eyes widened in disbelief. His eyes could not comprehend what world he had entered...
"Ah! The Sword Tower, what took you guys so long?" a drunk Dang Gu shouted aloud.
Wang Ling and the others were welcomed by a group of drunk Peak Experts.
[...So these are the Heads of the Coalition... how reassuring.]

Maitbudi
Fermboi was a man of one ideal: make the weak strong. When his rebellion against the king proved futile, he was given another chance at life. This time, he sought to do nothing after realizing the hopelessness of it all. Aventina wanted to do nothing more than to follow her father’s footsteps. On a retaliation raid against her tribe’s enemies, her brothers perished. Spared by a leader of her enemies, she returned home to find herself the chief of her tribe. Bolahulag, half-civilized and half-barbarian, half-lowborn and half-royal. Raised in his mother’s civilized tent in a sea of barbaric shelters, Bolahulag was hesitant to follow his paternal way of life. After a battle between a civilized king and his father, Bolahulag was sent as hostage to learn the economy and military of the nation his father defeated. Derai knew nothing more than being an orphan, but when a merchant took her in, the world she thought impossible soon became a reality. Monghe, stuck in a school exemplifying strength for most of his life, began to understand what he needed to do in order to be strong instead of weak. Story is mostly about nothing. Fermboi does most of the nothing. Aventina does most of the military things. Bolahulag does a balance of economy and military. Derai focuses on economy. Monghe spitfires what it means to be a typical hero. Hopefully this is enough to give a general idea to people who don’t like going blind aside from the work being purportedly “good.” Who am I kidding, my writing is terrible. I hope it improves though.
