Celestial Peak Chapter 469

It was said that a cultivator who had entered a state of rage was volatile and uncontrollable. This was the truth. But the ones who stand at the peak know how to use their rage to their advantage, and Wang Ling knew this all too well.
"Yuan Qing, Yuan Ming, help me entrap them when I begin the battle. Can you do that?"
"We have a way."
"Thank you." He said as he put on another mask.
His killing intent was rampaging still, but his head was clear. He knew what it was needed to be done, his steps resumed, his killing intent quickly receded into his body, and the Heaven's Edge Sword and an unnamed pair resonated with a hum.
They came to him, sword at hand, killing intent pushing his back, and their lives
Wang Ling… closed his eyes, the Bell of the Heaven's echoed, his soul accepted it all, and then, the flood of Revenants came with a sword in hand.
The Revenants intended to fully kill him, a person with Holy Qi. The Revenants craved for his Primordial Essence inside the member of the Origin Races. The Revenants care little for Deities or Beasts with Deity bloodline, but they would do anything to kill anyone with Holy Qi and Hellish Qi.
These Revenants would be devoid of thought as they ravage anything in their path to reach the location of the Primordial Essence. They would kill for the Primordial Essence, they would die to collect them, thus, Wang Ling lured them with Primordial Essence of his own.
The Revenants got into range, their minds were freed from the grasps of the Abyss, but their desires were not overwritten. They retrieved their minds with the command of retrieving the Primordial Essence, thus, they brandished their swords.
Blood Seeking Sword: Blood Falls.
Blood Seeking Sword: Culling River.
Blood Seeking Sword: Sunrise Blood.
The oscillating sword slashes flashed turning into a net. Sharp, deadly, and without a way to escape, it was the perfect trap, but, Wang Ling did not budge, "Seeing it now, I can see how much I have stagnated. Good thing I do more practice and internal introspection in this lifetime." Wang Ling's steps did not falter.

In Wang Ling's first life, he was an unstoppable killing machine who spared none, he massacred indiscriminately any Faction who got in his way.
In his second life he killed the moment he knew who it was he needed to end, he slaughtered everyone he considered an enemy.
The third life was him already enlightened at the path that he walked. His sword intent was that of [Pure Death], allowing him to see through the necessity of being soft. His calmness broadened his fighting method and allowed him a much more efficient path. He was more willing to sacrifice everything to kill his opponent. He was merciless even to himself.
The Revenants were him, but he was not them, because no matter what they do, they could only be the Second Life, and Wang Ling was long past that sort of existence. He was beyond his previous self.
His unfaltering heart moved him to retaliate, his hands moved, his sword moved, and then… only he moved, "Twilight Sword: Crossing the Void."
Everything was silent with the movement of his left sword. But clear to the naked eyes, the sword slashes were torn apart by the explosion of qi that warped space itself.
Fwu! BOOM!
The wind picked up, the ground upturned, and carried the massive force to the Revenants. All of the Revenants reacted to the attack, they ducked and then swung their swords to blow away the sword, but, Wang Ling had already gotten through the billowing dust.
With his movement, water appeared from out of nowhere as the twins proceeded to create a water dome around Wang Ling and the Revenants, "Origin Water Art: Temple of the Lord — Reversed Flow."
The technique the two used in keeping out the Revenants when Qinyang fought them appeared but this time, instead of keeping them from entering, it was from escaping the dome. The Revenants were momentarily distracted. Wang Ling clicked his tongue.
"You Impostors are really making me bear a bad name." Wang Ling gathered his strength to his fist, Holy Qi emerged, and then the flow was set ablaze. A white flame slithered out of his frame, filling the room with its brilliance.

"Heavenly Flame Arts: World Devouring Serpent!"
Angel suddenly appeared by his side, the two connected their minds and intents with each other, "BURN!" Wang Ling shouted as he poured more and more qi into the serpent's form enlarging it, filling the entire dome with nothing but its open maw.
The Revenants saw these and fought back, they tried pushing back the serpent of flames with their swords and qi, only to be brought inside the body of the Serpent. Inside, they found their target, awaiting them—slash— a single stroke separated their heads from their shoulders, a single movement took a life.
Like a connected thread of life, Wang Ling's sword moved without stopping.
His left hand moved with stopping, the sword movement only grew stronger with every strike, "Twilight Sword: Breathe of Life."
The Revenants saw the flames, they panicked the first second but managed to process the situation. They all moved, dove straight into the body of the serpent, daring to fight Wang Ling in his own domain.
They swung their blades; every corner was blocked. His left hand was too preoccupied to even count them all.
Several vitals were threatened to be destroyed.
"Got you." They announced.
But Wang Ling did not care, "Blood Seeking Sword: Blood Moon."
The Revenant's eyes widened, as they lost an arm. But, all of a sudden, their smiles showed. They leaned over to Wang Ling, flesh being scorched, "So, you were ali—"
Wang Ling did not listen and killed that one immediately.
"Twilight Sword: Cosmic Retribution —" His left sword moved southwest to northeast, and then his right hand that was also killed two, however, the two swords were about to clash, the Revenants smiled, anticipating the opening that would appear.
"He… that's brilliant!" Chang Ping saw what Wang Ling was doing but quickly snapped out of her reverence, "Quickly cover your ears! That's one of the three Slaughter Arts!"
She shouted to the others as she saw one of the most dangerous movements in the Blood Seeking Sword Technique was about to be unleashed.
"Was I this much of a fool? Blood Seeking Sword — Slaughter Art: Demonic Tune."
Clang!
Five Killing Swords and three Slaughter Arts meant for the use of decimating sects.
Swoosh!
One of the most impressive his arsenal was finally unleashed once again.
The blades clashed, the sword, hummed sending the killing intent within him out of his body and intent to ears of the Revenants.
Ting! An echo was heard, then, nothing else.
The Revenants' bled from all of their orifices, they all felt their knees weakening.
A sound attack that attacks the soul, the mind, and the will. Enveloping the tune with killing intent, could even destroy one's sanity.
The Revenants fell victim to such a technique.
One after the other, they fell, as the sixth movement of the Blood Seeking Sword showed its head.
The Revenants could no longer move they could no longer see, and Wang Ling could no longer care.
But with weak voices, they spoke in a chorus, "The essence… once we have… enough… would you finally… be able… to rest? Father?"
Wang Ling saw this and his response was to snap his fingers, "Angel, incinerate everything."
"Sure thing — Heavenly Flame Arts: Empowered White Sun."
The Revenants burned; their words still being uttered. Wang Ling turned his back on them.

All while trying to keep alive a trio of adventurers hellbent on becoming legends. However, unfortunately for Tim, he is not the only one from earth to awaken in this world and the other Awakened aren't nearly so benevolent. Warning: The protagonist begins the story quite cowed and meek but progresses into a more assertive and situationally dominant personality. This is partly due to growth, but also a result of the character overcoming initial shock and longstanding depression. If you think I could have handled a segment better, by all means, point it out and provide your reasoning and suggestion. Everyone's experience of depression is different, and Tim's is a close representation of my own, so it won't necessarily 'vibe' with everyone. Chapters are around 15k words and released approx 1/week over the weekend. Has been reduced to around 7.5k to 9k to better fit my schedule.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
