Celestial Peak Chapter 424

Wang Ling kept on killing for days, following the path Chang Ping acquired weeks prior.
Of course, Wang Ling slowly grew winded, swinging his sword expends his qi and strength, and as he needed to be constantly moving to avoid being surrounded, his strength quickly got sapped away. It was a precarious situation, but he did not stop, instead, he used that chance to push himself past his limits. Focusing himself on breathing and then using as little movement as possible, Wang Ling's efficiency in killing increased several folds.
Slowly, the barren lands filled with seething despair of death slowly transformed into a whetstone and by the ninth day, when Wang Ling's qi could no longer keep up and another bloodline ignition could not be started for a long time, Wang Ling finally found himself.
With but a swing, the image of death appeared, with but a swing the cries of the dead echoed, and with but a swing, despair was severed from their origin. Wang Ling killed and killed and killed without bearing on how he looked and finally, after 15 days, he reached the end of his journey.
He reached a single tiny purple Crystal the size of a normal person. The Crystal radiated weak energy of the dead, a familiar feeling was mixed into the Crystal, "…how is this possible?" he asked himself and as he reached out trying to seize the Crystal's power, and when he did so, his hands ran it through, destroying it in the process.
Crash! Break!
The Abyssal Crystal broke and Wang Ling sighed in disappointment, "it disappeared, of course, it would not be so easy." The power he felt from the Core was the qi of Chaos, a sliver of it that no one other than him could feel. He wanted to take it for himself, but, as anyone could have guessed, retrieving such power was no easy feat.
The Chaos Qi got destroyed with the Abyssal Crystal. With this, Wang Ling's slaughter of Abyssal Demons ended, and with one of the Abyssal Crystals destroyed, only thirteen more remained in this world.
"With this, the others should know that destroying the Abyssal Crystals, isn't impossible. I will be leaving this world as soon as possible with Chang Ping, this world will see a new light of hope that Abyssal Demons are not invincible and if done right, then this world would be liberated. Free this world and the other six, if you can do that, then you'll gain the right to travel the Worlds and come find me, is that clear?"

His words were low but the disciples who just arrived heard him without a problem. They saw his bloodied body, the injuries he sustained in this slaughter was severe, but they could also feel the slight sharpness that remained in his eyes.
Wang Ling managed to sharpen himself even if it was by very little. Wang Ling looked at everyone, the children cupped their hands and then, bowed, "Thank you for your guidance."
They thanked him with a wholehearted cry. Tears obviously wanted to fall from their eyes, but the five children stopped its flow and simply looked at Wang Ling with smiles as they bid him farewell.
Seeing their smiles and eyes made Wang Ling raise his brows, he stood straight and then kept his sword away before walking away, "Good to see that you have matured so much. Either way, if you five can reach me someday, then by that time I should have already completed the Twilight Sword and will be able to impart upon you the strongest individual arts I can tailor for you. But for now, I shall leave and wish you well enough."
Without any hesitation, he left the children he chose to be his disciple. Chang Ping shortly followed after giving the five a Spatial Storage and as they walked away, she heard Wang Ling ask her, "Did you really have to add them trouble by giving them a Spatial Storage?"
"Master knows all too well that challenges from greedy people beget an adventure. They might be a troublesome detour in the future, but I'm sure they'll be able to meet their own fortunes along the way… I also handed them supreme techniques from Masters I slew."
"What a caring Eldest Martial Sister you are."
"I try my best to be as you describe me to be. Do you think your disciples can do it? Do you think they can conquer the Lower Worlds?" Chang Ping asked while casually collecting some bits and pieces of the Abyssal Crystal that scattered from afar
"You're doing a good job, keep at it. To answer your question, I don't know. They are young and will have to try hard in this life if they want to command respect. They will also have to face the Underground World that I spared if they wish to conquer the Lowest Worlds. But at the same time, they are at a massive advantage of this place being something of a depressing mess. They have my personally created techniques, I left them my intent, and even Alidia stayed to assist them in their journey. They are an interesting position, though it will be fun to watch them, by the time I can conquer the Worlds and train them would be decades from now. I have no time for that."

"I agree, they don't match the talents of those in the upper worlds, but with the Master leaving their side, the push they will receive would be massive. They have a concise goal in you and they will have a reason to leave these worlds. They'll succeed, I'm sure of it." Chang Ping sounded really confident with her assessment.
"Well, I just hope you are right."
"Do not worry, Master, I am. After all, I have experienced that "pull" to prove myself to you before."
"I supposed so."
The two of them continued walking and then, as Chang Ping sighed at her discovery from the Abyssal Crystals, she proceeded to speak, "Now, may I ask what's the plan now? Just to inform the Master, I am still afflicted by the Poison of the Abyssal Demons that restricts my Qi to the Qi Cloaking Realm so I am currently on the run from both the Abyssal Demons and those who have a grudge against me… I have no plan on leaving Master's side for the time being."
"How sweet of you, well, I am just going to leave this world and go on a journey searching for someone. Well, you probably know, who this person is."
"Is it the Mother of Beast? If so then it would be best for me to inform you that she's nowhere in this Universe, she hid in one of the Deities' Dimensions after the 3000 Year Treaty."
"Well, I don't have anything to say, I'll just have to find her then. In the past, she searched for me when we got separated, now it is my time to do so. It will take a while, but, I'm sure I can do it. After all, I still have to tell her something."
"What's that, Master?"
"That would be a secret I cannot tell you." Wang Ling stated with a laugh.
Chang Ping sighed as they stopped at the peak of a mountain. She then brought out her sword. She didn't channel her qi and instead began grasping the laws of space and then, Slash!
She cut open a rift for them to pass through.
"Oh yeah, what have you been doing with that Abyssal Crystal Shards?" Wang Ling asked.
"I am researching how it is created and why it can corrupt the dimension around it with pinpoint accuracy. If I can just somehow unravel the laws it holds, maybe I might be able to find how to close the Gates to stop the flood of Abyssal Demons or harness its power for myself. Either way, both results would be favorable. Many have been researching it for a few centuries, but none had come close in unraveling its mysteries."
"Is that so… I discovered how it works an hour ago after encountering an Abyssal Crystal, do you want to know its secret?"
As they left one of the Lowest World, Chang Ping sighed after Wang Ling rendered centuries' worth of hard work meaningless.
"...….yes please."

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
