Celestial Peak Chapter 397

Wang Ling's words stopped the two, they looked at him and nodded, "Thank you for informing us but we know."
"The qi each of us possesses are incompatible with one another but the Third Elder had us dual cultivate to satisfy her curiosity. The Yin in our body is malicious and eating us from the insides."
Wang Ling raised his brows as the three of them resumed their steps, "So you knew that you were going to die. That's rather insightful of you."
"We knew, but we did not know the exact timeframe."
"For that, we thank the Grandmaster for letting us know."
The two of them thanked the one who just told them the time of their death. It was a weird one but with this knowledge, they'll be more than prepared and would not be grasping on airs. The two were now even more prepared.
But Wang Ling wanted to know something, "Did you know you that one of you can live if one of you drank the blood essence of the other?"
They flinched but they did not stop their steps.
"I do not plan on doing such a thing."
"Dying or betraying the one who stayed by my side when no one came to our rescue would be worse than death."
The two servants moved closer to one another as though afraid without the other. Wang Ling saw this and smiled. He did not think they would actually know, he smiled, thinking, [How adorable, these two lovers are ready to die together. It's not often you see people like that.]
But what was even more fascinating was that, despite the malicious qi in their bodies, their mind wasn't corrupted, rather, it was pure, [Their affection is genuine and they are dependent on each other's company. Seeing their reaction to my words one of them will surely kill themselves tonight to collect their own blood essence. And considering how they are acting, they might just unknowingly commit double suicide.] chuckling, Wang Ling was impressed.
He was originally good at reading people, but after his second life, Wang Ling got even better. He could now see plenty of scenarios.
Following the two his mind raced. They reached a building in some garden guarded by two guards of the Qi Cloaking Realm, at the sight of the two girls, they creased their brows.

"What is that you want now?" one of the guards irritated and asked.
The war of the Lopus Family and Star Seeking Sect had lasted for months on more than one occasion these two went to the battlefield and killed people from the Lopus Family.
Thought their number wasn't that large because they were more focused on reconnaissance. They killed three to a dozen. They were known as the Twin Shadows of the Sect.
The two were infamous in their own rights, thus they are not viewed by others with favorable eyes. But the disregard the two show for the hate they receive only makes it all the more infuriating for others. Due to this fact they come across as condescending just because the disciple of the Grandmaster was being them.
The guards who often see them are the ones who get subjected to those pair of "contemptuous" eyes thus the pair were viewed with irritation.
Like always the two servants did not care for much and was about to speak of their intentions for coming. But then, before they could even speak Wang Ling already interjected, "I am here to see the Family Head, open the doors."
"Who is this disrespectful young m—"the guard's face went pale as he took a closer look at Wang Ling's white robes," We apologize for showing a distasteful sight to the Grandmaster."
The white robes were nothing special, it was made of ordinary premium silk but other than that it looked like any other scholarly robe. However, that was a single fact that the guards picked up, that it was a simple scholarly white robe.
A week prior an edict was given to the entire city, for the next two years wearing a white robe was prohibited inside the Sect's premises. The reason for this edict was simple – so that none would unknowingly disrespect the Grandmaster.
Wang Ling likes to wear simple clothing, he's not a bourgeoise nor does he like jewelry. The simplicity of the Grandmaster was a lesson one could learn from, but this also may lead to others not knowing of his identity thus creating trouble with him.
The Lopus Family would rather avoid such a thing.
Wang Ling smiled at the sight of the guards, "That's good, now stop acting like children and open the doors."

"Yes, Grandmaster. A Servant would be with you to direct you to the Meeting Hall. I would also like to inform the Grandmaster that Young Lord Leo is inside the Meeting Hall as your substitute." The guard courteously explained.
"I appreciate you letting me know about Leo, and as for the servants leading the way, I'll just be taking these two with me. They are the ones my disciples picked; I wish to see if they can serve well." Wang Ling said and the two looked at him with inquiring eyes, he did not answer them and just had the two lead the way.
Thankfully the two knew the way and soon, they reached the giant doors of a newly built building. He pushed open the doors.
"As I have said before we cannot simply reject the words of the Seven Swords Coalition! If we do, we will lose our supplies of Pills and weapons, do you really think we can survive that long without medication? The Alchemy Tower cannot provide for us forever." Yulis the Lesser Family Head argued.
"But the Seven Swords Coalition is a part of the Dark Union! If we do not abandon them then the Towers will leave us!" Radel the Captain of the Lopus Family forces argued.
"Hooh, it seems like you guys have reached an impasse." Everyone's attention was suddenly taken by Wang Ling who just came just arrived.
"Master! You are finally done with your meditation!" Leo went to hug Wang Ling without him caring for discretion, "It seems like Master grew stronger again."
Wang Ling just ruffled the hair of the boy, "Just a little bit, I am still far from regaining the pinnacle of my strength."
As shocking as those words were, the five other people in the room bowed to pay respect to Wang Ling.
Irta, Ylsa, Dratia, Yulis, and Radel bowed before Wang Ling, "We congratulate the Grandmaster's improvement."
"Leave it be, so what are you arguing about?" Wang Ling asked.
Ylsa took the chance to explain the situation to Wang Ling, "We just learn that Seven Sword Coalition has been backing the Star Seeking Sect. Due to us learning of this the Alchemist Tower also learned of this fact. The Alchemist Tower asked us to publicly denounce this or lose their support."
"I reckon if it was that simple this wouldn't be happening?"
"Yes, the Seven Sword Coalition is a part of the Dark Union, a group that does heinous crimes and practices in Forbidden Arts. They are villains but, in this region, they control more than 80% of the trade. If we reject denounce them openly then the Alchemist Tower would accept us while watching us closely and the Seven Sword Coalition will see us in a hostile manner barring us from making any deals. Right now, the Family is already being affected, and the flow of the goods of the nearby Cities are the same."
"I see." Wang Ling yawned hearing about the matter, "Denounce the Seven Sword Coalition."
"But then we'll lose access to pills and weapons, the next coming of the Abyssal Demons are upon us, we must be prepared."
"If we lose the Alchemist Tower the other Towers may also stop helping us. Just do the announcement to the world that those who reject the trade of goods with our affiliate city will receive a personal visit from me. Also add the fact that because they are assisting the Seven Sword Coalition, the Towers will not care if I eradicate them. With this, we'll be able to establish our strengths and regain the trust of the Tower.
"Also, contact the families who have been affiliated with the Star Seeking Sect to come in front of us in one week. Those who already clung to the thighs of other Sect will first need to make an offering to us if they fail to do so then accuse them of allying with the Seven Sword Coalition then threaten them. With this, we'll know who we can trust.
"After doing all that spread to the entire Region that I have a disciple from the Alchemist Tower, tell them that this Sect would now star teaching Alchemy. With this, the Seven Sword Coalition's grasp on the channels of the pills will loosen. We will also start dealing with pills."
With those words, Wang Ling just solved everyone's problem.

Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero (Update 09/19/21)
(Updated 09/19/21) Hello and welcome. If you made it this far and the book title sounds interesting, I'm hoping you'll read a few chapters. Here's a sample from chapter 1 of "Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero."Slowly starting to wake up, I become aware. It's like coming out of a fog.Head hurts.Body hurts. There's a conversation in the room. This isn't my bed. Someone is touching my arm. I crack my eyes to look. She doesn't notice. Is she praying for me? Her hands do feel good…do feel... Slipping back unconscious, my eyes slowly close. I didn't notice the soft green glow under Jenn’s hands.*******************"It does look like he saved them or at least stalled them long enough for us to get there." says the man dressed more like a park ranger than an officer of the law. "I did think he was part of it at first" he continues "but the evidence shows he wasn't there and they were certainly fighting on that back road where we found them""I don't care who he is." says a woman as she enters the room. "He saved and protected my Jenn. I will make sure there's not a mark or a scar on him before he leaves". As she continues the few steps over to the men speaking, even though dressed simply in common clothes, there is no doubt the race of elves is in her heritage. The grace and lines of her form. The elegance and lightness of her step. She glances at her daughter, still watching over the young man in the bed. "Do we know who he is yet?" she asks no one in particular."Not yet dear" a man in a white coat responds. A handsome middle-aged man. Fit, but not that of a fighter or ranger. "I asked Talon to bring another identification stone with him. I was hoping ours was just broke, but it's reading the same.""What do you think is wrong?" Talon asks."I'm thinking we just have to wait until he recovers. I have heard of cases where the stone didn't work. Powerful spells can hide or wipe a person clean. I doubt he's a spy or a criminal. Spells like that are just too high level if, they're used at all. My best guess is, there is just some disconnect with him being unconscious. When he wakes, we can ask him or use the stone again then."I find myself waking up in a hospital bed. The attending Doctor finds it odd that he cannot identify my class. An Officer says I’m a Hero for saving a girl from being kidnapped, but he’s asking too many questions for my liking. I know an accusing tone when I hear it. I don’t remember any of it and I need to find my way home.Author’s notes. Original work. First draft and update of chapters 1-16. Inspired by various fantasy games and books. Written with a focus on character development and interaction. Combat, progression, leveling, classes, but no numbers or stats. I’ll try to keep the language clean, PG-13, no smut. I’m in the US, writing in English. Almost fifty chapters are completed as I pen this introduction. I intend to complete this story or at least bring it to a proper ending. I have a destination in mind. I find as I write, doors and ideas open, while others close and are discarded. The tentative release schedule will be once a week. I'm new to creating. My apologies now while I learn. I have not settled on a book cover or artwork, still looking for something that fits. Registered & Protected #20VjeKDv2U6nynW6

Then turning towards the tall man, he got serious and said “Kanna, if you had just surrendered yourself at first we would have made this takeover much quicker, but you” the man seethed with anger “you fought back, nothing is worse than humans standing together.” The LIT RPG elements have been planned for the future and will not be the main focus but more will be written I assume around chapter 10
