Celestial Peak Chapter 378

Wang Ling's steps were staggered until he reached their home. His leg, arm, torso, almost everything about him was currently damaged but that didn't stop him from searching for Leo.
"LEO! WHERE ARE YOU?"
He sought him out, worried that something might have happened to the boy. When no one answered, Wang Ling already began thinking for the worst.
Leo was his disciple, but more so than that, he was Lucius' brother. Wang Ling has a sister and a brother, both of them were precious to him and when Wang Yue was kidnapped by the Xie Family Wang Ling's rage erupted that he unlocked the qi of Chaos.
He did not know just yet but Wang Ling already saw Leo as his own blood.
Against the legends of many the memories of the previous owner were not the only thing inherited by a reincarnated being. Memories would be the most obvious remnant, but what arrives together with memory was the emotion they hold.
It was not just because Wang Ling was stuck with Leo that he taught him, but deep within him the seed telling him Leo was his brother had long been sowed by Lucius. Wang Ling obviously liked the boy enough to teach him and when at this moment, he did not find the boy, Wang Ling quickly began searching for clues and when he found nothing — he disregarded everything and ran through the forest.
Wang Ling's hastened steps disregarded the pain his body was in, he was in a hurry and the limitations of his body couldn't be far from his concerns.
'I am mobile, I can still fight, but — I still have limits!' Wang Ling knew that the moment he checks up on his wounds he would collapse. He needed to move now, disregard everything, and just look ahead.

Wang Ling's worried steps carried him somewhere that was beyond the area of his hunting ground.
He creased his brows as he found something weird, however, 'Leo's been here.' Wang Ling sure of this because he now stood on an area a cultivator had fought on.
'These Knife Marks, the rotting woods and — blood, Leo fought an Abyssal Demon… is he still alive?'
It was a question he had no confidence in answering.
Leo may be stronger now that he had Wang Ling's teaching behind him, but the fact of the matter was that he's still inexperienced and his cultivation base was too weak.
If Leo was to face an Abyssal Demon, then, his fate would be quite assured, 'He'll die.' Wang Ling may not wish to admit it out loud but deep within he knew what would happen to Leo.
He followed the trail of combat, ready to rescue Leo, but the tracks soon ended after a few minutes which led Wang Ling to believe that the Abyssal Demon this around could fly.
"The tracks end here. There's no body and the earth does not seem to have any more tracks to follow, the tree branches are damaged… Leo was dragged away, no, the Abyssal Demon seeks death, it has no reason to abduct Leo — the fight still continues."
Wang Ling deciphered what the hell was happening and after finding where the little damage on a tree Wang Ling finally saw where he should go he determined the path he should take.
He was leaving their home farther and farther away, Wang Ling felt compelled to return, as Leo might come back — but just before he could make a decision, he heard something.
"HELP! PLEASE HELP!" a cry for help echoed through the air, piercing the area with a young lady's screech!

Wang Ling turned his back on the direction of the scream, he shouldn't concern himself with other people's pleas.
Millions no, billions that's a rough estimate of the number of people he had killed both directly and indirectly. He had gone numb at the thought of death, his life mired in the thick ocean of the blood he had taken.
Blood stained not only hand but also his existence, life was also useless to him, to a Celestial, an Immortal who had seen the peak, so why? Why does his injured self now move against the logic and rationality of existence?
It would be quick, this thought surfaced, it overwhelmed him, ate at him, and in the end, it drove him. It drove him to take a different path from what he had found!
The Holy Qi responded to his desire, his body moved and with every step, his movement became quicker, his body screamed yet not once did he slow down. The voices grew stronger, and he appeared above two children.
An older brother holding a sword protecting his younger sister, this sight replaced the darkness-covered scenery. Wang Ling now sees the enemy was none other than a humanoid Abyssal Demon.
Wang Ling looked at the Abyssal Demon and before he could even land on the ground, he already transformed himself into a weapon, his legs touched the ground, the earth was grasped by his existence, and then as the other leg landed, he poised his body, drew his arm back, and then spoke, "Blood Seeking Fist — Thunder Fist"
A memory of the past surfaced a technique he mastered before appeared and Wang Ling struck the unknowing beast!
BOOM!
A giant hole was carved on the Abyssal Demon's body, Wang Ling, however, did not stop, he knew this was not enough to kill it. He turned his body, moved his hand, and grabbed the sword the older brother held!
"I'll be borrowing this." He stated and from south to north the sight of a bloody river appeared, "Blood Seeking Sword — Culling River!"
The skull was cut in half and it soon disappeared.
"Are you okay, kids?"
The two nodded but soon realized what kind of person had appeared before them. A man capable of slaying an Abyssal Demon in mere seconds, that's who.
The older brother did not hesitate to prostrate before Wang Ling, "Please I beg of you great benefactor, help our village that had been assaulted by these vile demons! Please, we beg of you. I will give you anything in return!"
"…" Wang Ling walked away, and just as the older brother was to beg some more, Wang Ling's impatient voice echoed, "I'm taking this sword so you best tell me where it is!"
The body saw hope! And Wang Ling found a sword.

Reborn Magician Tyrant [Old]
Author's Note #4: This is the old, hastily written version. A great magician from the Human Kingdom travels west to fight the Demon Kingdom. Finally, after eight long years of war, the Human Kingdom emerges triumphant! But, just as the Human Kingdom begins to celebrate the victory, an enemy from a land far to the east attacks! After rushing to help support the Human Kingdom capital against the assault, the magician is met with the sight of his beloved city razed to the ground. The magician fights off whatever invaders he can, using whatever tactics he knows, but he is eventually felled in combat due to the superior abilities of the invaders. However, death is not the end! The magician reincarnates, awakening as a citizen of the empire which conquered his home! Author's Note #3: Okay, that's the end for me. This is too boring for me to continue writing, and I've gotten back to writing Reborn as a Dungeon Core in an Apocalyptic World. At 26,772 words, this has gotten too boring for me to continue. I'm probably going to take this basic story and rewrite it into something way better w/ longer chapters, but at least I had fun for the six days it took to write this much. PS - Love the reviews; they're great. Way to go, dude with 22 thumbs up and 0 thumbs down!

Greys II - Ghosts
There he stood, dark eyes, dark hair, beautiful in the most devastating of ways. It scared me how little he had changed, his hair was longer and black, his frame thinner, like he hadn't eaten since I last saw him. His eyes were different, lacking something they had always held before, lacking anything really, and yet he was the same. He looked weak, but I knew he wasn't. "Hi, angel."His voice was just as dead as his eyes. It sent a shiver up my spine. That was the reason I felt sick, that was the reason he seemed different. He was dead, and as much as I wanted to hate him, I was sad he was empty, sad he wasn't the same man anymore."Hello, Gabriel."My voice came out softer than I would have liked, the words burning my tongue. But it didn't matter, I got the desired effect even if the volume wasn't there. He flinched, his eyes widening, his eyebrows twitching up and together, his jaw setting for just a moment. But then it was gone and he looked away, death settling back in his eyes, in the lines of his face.» ✦ «#2 in Angel Romance#3 in Demonology#11 in Thriller#Mature, 18+ for all the reasons. Not a YA novel (again).**Due to disturbing themes, violence, depression, language and literally everything else, this is not for the kids. Ghosts is darker than Intentions. But you need to live in the dark to appreciate the light...or at least, the lighter grays 🖤🖤
