Celestial Peak Chapter 322

Wearing the dragon mask, Wang Ling was running like hell without regard to his image. He did not expect for one more idol to take notice of him and the Young Immortal when they were already running away.
He thought his plan was going to be flawless, but it would seem that not everything is working out for him without any unforeseen challenge. But Wang Ling cannot do anything, he could only run away, thankfully the passage he was in was rather small so the idol cannot move as fast but it was still fast.
With the body of the idol blocking the path behind, Wang Ling can only run forward, he must have taken the wrong turn as he was now stuck in a never long straight passage without an exit in sight.
"So, is this your glorious plan? If it is, I am so impressed." The Gray Figure sounded condescending as he laughed at the awkward situation he and his successor are currently is in.
"Do you have a plan then? If you do, then I am all ears." Wang Ling can continue this cat and mouse with the Idol forever, but this path will eventually end, and once it does, and he either ends up in a dead-end or an open area, his ending will only be death.
The Gray Figure laughed at the sight of Wang Ling but indeed, it does have a plan, "I do and it involves you taking a risk but it will still end up in us surviving this one, are you in?"
"Just tell me what it is and I will do it, stop acting like that!" Wang Ling complained and the Gray Figure proceeded on letting Wang Ling know of his plans.
After listening to the plans of the Gray Figure, Wang Ling became silent and agreed to do what he must and so, they decided to go with the plan of the Gray Figure. The chances of it succeeding is rather low, but they were confident.
"I can feel it, seven more seconds and we will be able to get out of this passage. Get ready, there is an open area after this one, stick to my plan, got it!?" The Gray Figure reminded; though it was unneeded. Wang Ling was already focused.

"Sure!"
Wang Ling run and run until finally, just like the Gray Figure said they reached an open area. And soon after Wang Ling escaped that passage he flew up to the sky and he opened his Ocean's Lull to its fullest. A five hundred-meter circular area with him as the center emerged.
He brought out a spear and then gathered his chaos to the tip of the spear. Slowly, he gathered them and when the idol finally came out of the room, Wang Ling's eyes turned red as he threw the spear to the idol that had just burst out of the passageway.
Fwu! The spear traveled like lighting and descended as fiercely as so. It lacerated the wind but not the idol, it simply swats the spear-like it was nothing.
Wang Ling knew it would happen like that but he did not care, the spear that was flung away was caught by him and once again threw it as he twisted his body along with it.
The spear was once again thrown and Wang Ling kicked the air as he dove straight down. His senses got a full grasp of the idol and Wang Ling found its structure to be interesting. It was shaped as a giant human and as it swats the spear for the second time Wang Ling aimed for its nape.
Of course, the idol retaliated with a punch. But as it was nothing but a lifeless doll, Wang Ling managed to get a grasp of its movement with his Ocean's Lull, the way it telegraphed its punch entered his sight without missing anything and as he twisted his body, Wang Ling dodged the strike quite nicely.
He stepped on the face of the idol and without missing a beat he used the Reaper that had been laced by his Chaos Qi to stab the nape of the hulking idol. As his sword pierced its hard shell a force tried to repel his blade but Wang Ling stuck to what he was doing didn't budge at all.
The Idol panicked and tried throwing Wang Ling off its body and grabbed his body and pulled him away from its nape he grabbed the head of the idol with a vise-like grip and did not let go no matter what happened.

Wang Ling felt his body getting ripped, his clothes was destroyed with the death grip of the idol but as Wang Ling endured his strength exploded and with a burst of power he managed to pull through and drive the sword to the depths of its nape.
Boom!
A wave of blue qi swept the area and Wang Ling was grabbed his sword hilt tightly in order to not get blown away. The wave lasted for only a mere moment but it was strong enough to wither Wang Ling's Qi reserves.
The idol fell to his knees and then eventually dropped to the ground. Wang Ling did not expect to be so tired over the events that he had just been in and fell to one knee. The Heaven's Wrath he sent to pierce the thigh of the Young Immortal was taxing as to form a strong arrow that can injure someone at that level was not some to be done so simply.
But Wang Ling cannot spend too much time resting here. He just brought out ten thousand meteor stones to replenish what he had lost. The qi reserves in Wang Ling's body was painfully big, it was something a seventh meridian Immortal possesses so regenerating that much qi takes a lot of resources. The density and amount of his qi are terrifyingly big.
It grants him immense strength but breaking through is also multiple times harder than it should be. Even with Wang Ling's multiple abilities to gather qi, it takes time and a large amount of resources for him to reach the next level.
Using Yan Renhuo as a measurement, what she needs to reach the eight meridians is what Wang Ling needs to reach the fourth meridian. It is simply astounding how much qi he needs.
With that in mind, Wang Ling cannot stop here. He had collected a variety of spirit plants and Nebular Pills but that will eventually run out given enough time. He has the black box but that will also disappear once Wang Ling uses it.
He needs more resources so he'll be able to reach the next meridian faster and only then will he be able to get out of here. As he slowly began his recuperation, Wang Ling had enough time to check the contents of the black box.
He tried opening the black box only to fail, he remembered something and then poured Chaos Qi on the black box, with a clink* sound the black box showed signs of opening.
Opening the black box a chilly and dangerous qi escaped the box and in a hurry, Wang Ling closed the box. He checked his surroundings and then in a hurry he collected the qi that escaped the box in a hurry.
He cracked a smile right after collecting the qi that escaped the box, he hurriedly kept the box away and exhaled, "I didn't think I will find Devil's Blood this really is a treasure, for me at least."
After that, Wang Ling focused on healing his body putting the thoughts for later.
Wang Ling stood up from the ground half an hour later, he then found the silence of the Gray Figure to be weird so before he moved, he wanted to ask what was wrong, but he was stopped.
"Don't speak to me, I am sensing something. Do not move, also. This one is also a vital ingredient for your improvement…" The Gray Figure said in a hurry. Wang Ling did not move nor did he say anything and ten minutes later, the Gray Figure finally spoke in a hurry, "My successor, get moving I don't know if someone else is in there but no matter what happens we must also get this one!"
Wang Ling nodded his head and without missing a beat he dashed forwards and then sped away to the direction the Gray Figure was instructing.
While Wang Ling was at it, he asked, "What is it that you picked up?!"
The Gray Figure swallowed gathered itself as it took in deep breathes before it spoke, "It's the body of a God!"

Dear Spellbook (Rewrite)
Live. Study. Repeat. Tal never saw himself as an adventurer, but the call to adventure never much cared for his opinion. Despite his best efforts, his search for answers on the murder of his parents ever draws him into danger. Accompanied by a group of seasoned warriors, thus far Tal has gotten by on his own meager magical talents, but when one day he wakes up to find himself back in his bed of the night before, he is faced with a challenge he must conquer alone. What to expect: This story was born of an attempt to create in world lore reasons for many of the mechanics and tropes of D&D, but you do not need to know of them to enjoy the story. It's a single POV time loop story with slow paced progression fantasy elements. The story is not one of fast-paced power ups and non-stop action, but as it progresses, the action picks up. There is a lot of magic system exploration on a system built to unify the diverse magic of D&D into one cohesive magic system. The setting is an original world with familiar races and monsters but with new unique origins and motivations. The average chapter will be 2-5k words long, most being around 3k but there are a few less than 1k, due to the nature of the story telling device I used. Book 1 is complete. Posting is on hold until I finish book 2. Book 2 progress: The rough draft is done at 141656 words as of 7/9/2022. I need to reread and edit it but Im aiming for resuming chapters in September.
