Celestial Peak Chapter 291

Chaos exists in the universe even before it dawned. A being lonesome of being born alone came to crave the presence of others so he created worlds inhabited by beasts and other races.
Through the Nine Chaos, the highest realm was created and two Middle Realm that connects the One realm to the rest. The Highest Realm became known as the Origin of the Universe and the Chaos who created the Middle Realms expanded his rule and created life.
Two Races opposite of each other but exists as a sign of peace and harmony that represents his whole being. The two worlds referred to the chaos as King, and this King picked its first two creations as its envoys.
From then on, everything had been cut as Wang Ling woke up. Wang Ling sat up straight from the bed and felt his head. Last night was long, and with the harmonization of his Yin and Yang and the process of getting taken over by the Gray figure in one day, it gave Wang Ling the feeling of pleasure, happiness, and confusion.
Pleasure and happiness are easily explained but the confusion was birthed from the bits and flashes of the past he never knew. The Chaos' creations used the term King to refer to the one who created them.
And in the middle of it all, the feeling of boundless void remained as he wanted to search for more of the memory. He craved for it as if it was a piercing piece in his life.
But that craving disappeared as he heard the sweet moans by his side. He turned and saw Bai Xue, curled up as her rosy skin seemed to glisten in the morning light, she was sleepy, from both the 'activity' last night and her innate craving for sleep.
She moaned as she whispered, "Do not move so much, let me sleep." She grumbled in her sleep. Wang Ling smiled sweetly and proceeded to caress her hair. Despite having a human form, Wang Ling had been trained to caress her hair as gently as he could like he was caring for a fragile animal, "Rest well."

He didn't want to disturb her so he got up without her knowledge but he didn't leave the room. Instead, he picked one side of the room and examined his condition. Starting with his Yin and Yang which was already harmonized and then to his cultivation which had reached half-step Immortal Spirit Realm.
Wang Ling then went to check on his bloodlines and for some odd reasons he could still the lingering thoughts of the Gray Figure letting him know that he is lacking in terms of Holy Lord Bloodline, "I am now a Transcendent Holy Lord, I need to reach new heights quickly."
And with hesitance, he proceeded to check his heart which now had a mark that resembled a purple skull. The skull had two horns and it was emitting a thick aura of death, "It seems like my life has been marked, and from what he said, I can only live for fifteen years just like Yue."
A life in exchange for a life, that's what supposed to happen. But the gray figure didn't want that, as he too would die in the process of reviving the lass. To save both, the Gray Figure had to do the next best thing, create a pact with the land where all souls end up when it leaves the body.
The land where the Wheel of Reincarnation resides, a place called the Underworld. The pact the Gray Figure created was simple, with his own life he will become the anchor or the lifeblood that will keep Wang Yue alive and keep her here.
The one who will benefit the most here would be Wang Yue and the one taking the full brunt of everything would be Wang Ling. Wang Yue will be granted a fifteen years lifespan that is not connected to the Underworld through a pact.
Meaning, Wang Yue can lead a normal life of someone who has fifteen years long lifespan and she can still increase that lifespan of hers like a normal cultivator. And like a normal person, she will be able to have hundreds of thousands of years of lifespan if she reaches the Celestial Phase.

But for Wang Ling, the ending is different. Every time he reaches the next level, the cultivation he will have will be forcefully stripped away and only ten years will be added to his lifespan rather than thousands of years.
The lifespan that is stripped away from him would be sent to the Underworld as a tribute to not take his soul away.
If he becomes an Immortal, the most he can get from it would be a hundred years, but considering how long an Immortal has to cultivate in order to reach the next level, Wang Ling will die sooner or later if he doesn't hurry.
Clenching his fist, Wang Ling knew that he had no more time to be idle. He had to move and become stronger faster and now that he was already at Half-Step Immortal Realm, he now only needs to break the barrier of Mortality and reach Immortality he still has the time.
"I need to become an Immortal right away, I want to move Butler Sun and the Family but at this moment, the war is still going on. And the people of the realm should have already known of my identity, this is the time to become decisive and start with the creation of the new era for the Wang Family."
Wang Ling resolved himself and brought out the last communication talisman he had with him, he connected with Butler Sun and then he spoke, "Butler Sun, can you hear me?"
"Young Master, you are awake, I did not mean to disturb you or the young Mistress but it seems like I don't need to worry. I am glad that you are awake, have your injuries healed? Do you want me to head over?" Butler Sun's voice was ecstatic, a far cry from what it sounded the other day when he saw Wang Yue's corpse.
"No, do not bother, I will come out on my own when the time is right, rather, I need you outside for the next two months, by now, I want to end the war in the Realm."
Butler Sun became quiet and with an excited voice he asked, "What is that you need me to do, First Young Master."
"This is what you must do…"
Wang Ling proceeded to speak of his plans to Butler Sun; after hearing what had been said, Butler Sun did not hesitate to act upon his instructions.
Wang Ling and Bai Xue stayed in that room for a long time—until Bai Xue woke up. Bai Xue woke up and then saw her appearance, her face became bright red as she was still naked, but she composed herself the next moment she got.
She looked at Wang Ling and then said, "You owe me one."
Wang Ling smiled as he chuckled, "This 'one' is yours if you will it."
Bai Xue processed what had been said and turned red after realizing it was a roundabout proposal. She scowled as she got up and promptly got dressed, "There will be a proper time to speak of that; when the time is right…"
"So, you are keeping such thought on the back your head?"
"Shut it, I'll tear your throat if you don't shut up!" it seems like despite being a shy maiden last night, her ferociousness reappears after the act, Wang Ling found this rather attractive, "Enough of that, we need to talk about cultivation. You see, I am planning to enter seclusion in three months, I just need a few Immortal Blood so I want to ask Butler Sun over it, help me out when the time comes, alright?"
Wang Ling too became serious but the smile on his face never faded, "Do not worry, I'll just end the war real quick and we'll be able to get the Immortal Core and Blood we need."

Raz Owens was living the dream - a rising star at a job he enjoys, a girlfriend he loves, but it all comes crashing down when Raz disregards his late father's advice. He is pulled into a chaotic underworld of clandestine labs, shadow organizations, and super-powered criminals. Used as a human test subject in a place where few survive the day, he must last long enough to escape. His only advantage? A power that seems nearly useless—a heads-up display. Contains: monsters, violence, death, dismemberment, gamelit, superpowers, superpower consequences, good guys, bad guys, good guys who might be bad guys, bad guys who think they are good guys, good guys that might go bad, bad guys that might turn good, guns for hire, competence, incompetence, continence, incontinence, conspiracies, and some of what I just said wasn't true. This story is written in third person limited POV. That means you can expect to know many of the thoughts and inner dialog of one character, and only see the actions of other characters. This POV does include scenes without the main character, and thus the reader can and will know things the main character does not. Further, this means characters act on what they know, which is almost always less than the reader knows. Something else to know. These books do not hold your hand. If you're reading it and thinking "Gosh, why aren't 'they' doing some 'obvious' thing." Bad news. You probably missed something that explains exactly that. If you're seeking a light read that doesn't ask much of you as the reader, you're invited and very welcome to come on in, but this might not be the story for you.
