Celestial Peak Chapter 280

Wang Ling head over to the Earth Domain's Light Valley. He was flying with fast speed. He and Bai Xue's flying speed was actually so fast that not even a half-step Celestial Emperor will be able to keep up with them.
In terms of raw speed, Bai Xue was faster by a little bit. And in terms of technique in flying, Wang Ling was higher. But that is just taking into account if Bai Xue does not use numerous her innate techniques.
"Ling, how much longer will we need to get to the Light Valley?" Bai Xue asked curiously.
"Just a few more, hours." Wang Ling answered.
The Earth Domain was just beside the Devil Domain, and it was quite easy for the two to cross the borders. It was hassle-free and they were easily treading the road to the Light Valley.
The wandering beasts that litters the sky were mostly Dominion Realm scrubs so no one even dared crossing their paths.
Wang Ling could have headed for the Light City first but he went straight to the Light Valley as he found it unnecessary to make a detour, he sped away into the Light Valley and as he went to the exact place Butler Sun spoke of, he saw nothing but open space.
There was no one in a five-kilometer radius and as he observed his surrounding, he did not see anyone. Wang Ling found such a thing as odd. Bai Xue and Wang Ling decided to look for them instead of idling by.
If the Yan Clan members were nowhere to be found, then all of them must be somewhere else. The Light Valley was a valley blessed by mines of Light Ores, ores that is used to create holy based low-grade weaponry.
Wang Ling wandered the Valley and he did not managed to see anyone resembling a human. He did not even found a beast, it was truly odd. Night came and the two finally decided to stop looking around and set up camp so they eat some meat Bai Xue keeps in her storage ring.

Half of Bai Xue's storage ring contains meat as emergency ration. In all truthfulness a Celestial does not need to eat, but Wang Ling was not complaining though.
As they began roasting their meat, Wang Ling began to wonder where the people of the Yan Clan could have gone to.
"Where could they have gone?" He asked himself and as he did, he felt a tremendously horrifying power surging up from somewhere. He did not know where this power or force came from, but he was not willing to stick around and find out.
"Xue, let's go!" He got ready to leave and called out to Bai Xue. But then a wild and ferocious shrieked shook the lands of the Light Valley.
Skriiii!
A bright feathery beast emerged from one of the mountains a few hundreds of kilometers away. The mountain was a few thousands kilometers tall and wide but as the beast extended its wings and illuminated the world with its wonderful light, the mountain was enveloped by those majestic wings.
Wang Ling was speechless in all his life even adding the previous one, he had not seen such a beast before. No Celestial Phase beast can be that big and no Celestial Phase Beast can make him tremble in anxiousness like this.
There was only one time when Wang Ling felt pressure and that time when he faced the Immortal Will of the Qin Clan's Clan Head. The beast in front of him was no longer a Celestial, but an Immortal Beast.
"That's a Grand Light Phoenix!" Wang Ling exclaimed. He had seen a Grand Light Phoenix before. A Grand Light Phoenix had the characters of a Holy attributed beast, its feathers are bright as the sun, its claws sharper than anything and its power is one of the strongest in the realm. It could grow up to two hundred meters large if the wings were taken into account making it the largest bird in the entire realm.

However, this Grand Light Phoenix held something even more overwhelming in terms of its characteristics. Three crown-like strips of feathers was extending from the forehead of the Phoenix. It was graceful and regal at the same time.
Wang Ling watched as the Phoenix screeched in anger. The Phoenix illuminated the entire valley, a single dot appeared in front of the Grand Light Phoenix. It was a man wearing a fiery combat robe.
He had red hair and a masculine body, on his hand was a halberd was like a blazing fire. He was middle-aged but the aura he exudes was more vibrant than any youth Wang Ling had come across.
The Grand Light Phoenix glared at the human before it. The Grand Light Phoenix opened its mouth and then let out another world-shaking screech and what followed was its body began to shrink. Wang Ling did not know how such a thing was possible, thankfully, Bai Xue was beside him to explain.
"It's compressing its body, it is an Immortal Beast, simple body manipulation is easily acquired as a form of survival. A much smaller body is much efficient than a hunk of a body that can easily be targeted from all over the place."
The Grand Light Phoenix's body was shrinking at a fast rate, but the man in fiery robes did not just stand there watching as he made his move before the Phoenix can complete its body compression.
The man brandished his halberd and a towering flame exploded out. The Grand Light Phoenix saw this and flapped its still humungous wings and feather-like light swords made of qi rained down to the towering flames.
Both attacks were strong and overwhelming and the repercussion of their exchanged caused the mountain that existed below them to be carved out as their attacks repelled each other and crashed on the ground.
Wang Ling watched as the large mountain get decimated in a mere exchange. It was such a sigh that he cannot forget. The Kun Lun Mountains he decimated in the past was nothing compared to the mountains of the Light Valley and seeing such a mountain get destroyed in a manner of seconds was something he cannot believe.
"What power." He commented without knowing.

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.
