The Noble's Divine Pride is an ability that is always on, and its ability to some degree is to have the four general elements of the universe to lessen its attacking capability when its powers are directed at him.

Meaning, the element of wind, fire, air, and earth had its strength lessened when used against Wang Ling. From the information he got, the Holy Lords of the past bestowed the universe of its elements so it was natural that their creation will not turn its sword towards them.

It was a technique that is the bane of most sects. Wang Ling was satisfied at these two so he moved on to the True Devil King Bloodline. The Bloodline's innate techniques he managed to inherit was also quite capable.
