Celestial Peak Chapter 220

Living for more than a millennia has many great perks, one of these great perks was lots of experience and a wide horizon thanks to the numerous encounters one faces throughout their lives.
If an immortal that had lived for thousands of years was to face a problem. The experience he had gotten from the last years of his life would let him pull through it all.
But even Wang Ling, who had probably seen most of what the realm had to offer could not possibly see through the serpent that is currently calling him father.
It was weird and he was at a loss for a word. The space that had been carved by the tribulation was slowly disappearing and the water poured around Wang Ling's surrounding, the White Serpent's body began turning the water into steam.
With the White Serpent quickly making the temperature of the stream rise, steam escaped from the body of water as it flowed unceasingly. Wang Ling was underwater, but as he unconsciously protected himself and stared at the serpent, he was still at a loss for a word.
It took him a full minute to even realize that the White Serpent was shrinking as it stayed longer underwater. Seeing the ten-meter large White Serpent shrink by two meters, Wang Ling decided to rise above the stream and onto the cliff where his abode was.
Wang Ling flew the air and the White Serpent seemed to have the ability to fly as it too flew by his side without any assistance. Wang Ling saw this and took note of its behavior.
He landed just in front of his courtyard and just as he was about to conduct his own experiments and deep observations, he sensed people coming towards his direction.
Noticing such a thing made Wang Ling panic, he had no idea where to keep the White Serpent as he does not have any inkling how to command the damn thing. And so, he looked at the serpent and said, "Hide yourself."
The serpent obliged to his commands but not at the way he intended it to. The white snake rose slightly to the air and dove onto him. He tried to block the serpent with his arms, but the snake merely shrunk and slithered past his arms before entering his body through his chest.
When the serpent entered his body, a fiery heat exploded from the inside and made him almost unable to breathe. But that only stayed for a couple of minutes before it disappeared like a puff of smoke.
The more he experiences and come into terms with the serpent, the more it became weird for Wang Ling. he had not seen a technique like this, he was unaware of it. The White Serpent was something beyond his understanding.
He was in distraught, but as teachers of the academy came down to check up upon what he is up to, Wang Ling regained his calm and the façade of a good student and figure.
He began wearing the mask of a great student and person and chased them away with the excuse of needing to prepare some more so he rests later on.

Making sure no one was around his mountain on a five-kilometer radius, Wang Ling circulated his qi and tried connecting with the serpent. And to his surprise, doing such a thing was easier than he had thought.
Because the instant he tried to talk to the serpent with his mind, the serpent immediately came out of his body and slithered out of his body through the passage of his fingertips and then arm.
"Yes, Father?" The White Serpent immediately surfaced and its body had shrunken to the size of a few inches no longer than ten inches long. Its head had shrunken considerably and its black eyes had become mellower than when it was larger.
With its little cry, it lowered its head to present itself to Wang Ling while coiling around Wang Ling's right arm.
This sight cause Wang Ling's interest and curiosity to surge even higher. His sight became sharper as it observed every scale it had. The scales it possessed seemed like it was carved by a divine sculpture as its lustrousness and shine was unparalleled even amongst the greatest carvings of snakes he had seen. Even if one compares it to the Rainbow Boa which was considered as the most beautiful serpent of the realm, the Rainbow Bow cannot triumph over this White Serpent.
"You, what are you?" Wang Ling asked as he could not make any ins and outs of the situation.
"I am your child, Father. Born of the souls you have consumed, your own essence of life, blood essences, and the angelic qi that dwells in your Spirit Ocean. That is what I am, Father." The white serpent explained in a clear and concise manner that I made Wang Ling doubt its age.
Overthinking aside, it was truly a magnificent sight to see such a being come to be. It was intellectual and had cognition as to what was happening. The serpent was weird and fascinating that it caught more of his attention the more he observed it.
He began questioning the serpent without any regard to what the white serpent might think.
"What are you made of? The Heavenly Flames? How do you know all of this? Why do you dwell inside my body when you are alive and has a soul of your own? I should kill you now and purge your soul if I wish to keep myself alive do I not?"
"I shall answer your inquiries, Father. I am indeed created from the Heavenly Flames and I know of this knowledge because of information that flooded my mind. And fret not, Father. My soul is but an extension of your own. It is a leash that binds us together and binds me to you and what gives me life so you dying from having two souls is not something Father should worry about."
Wang Ling understood its concept but there were holes he could not fill. The White Serpent was nothing short of mysterious and the way it came to life was through the mix of using techniques of both Heaven and Hell Realms.

Using the Soul Devourer to create a soul and then his angelic qi and blood essence to give it life. And from what he could tell, what most likely brought the serpent to life was the essence of the angelic qi which was regeneration and creation.
The massive life essence it had caused a life to be born in the world and as for what gave the serpent the jolt it needed to come alive? That would be…
[The Lightning Tribulation.
The Lightning Tribulation must have come about when an anomaly surfaced with the creation of life. It might have wanted to destroy the White Serpent but only ignited the basic instincts it had deep within and gave it enough jolt to come alive.]
It was a bit over the top and too much of a stretch. But such an explanation was the best he could take. Even if he asks the White Serpent about what is what, the White Serpent has limited knowledge despite its intellectual mind.
Wang Ling was left to settle with his own little theory regarding the whole event. With that put to the side, Wang Ling was then left to see any of the White Serpent's capabilities and time passed the moon rose as darkness replace the light.
Wang Ling never noticed that it had grown darker as the light of the White Serpent was enough to make him think it was morning around him. As night passed and as he went over the skills and abilities of the White Serpent, Wang Ling managed to understand more.
The more he understood, the more he began to think.
"Answer me, do I still have the command over the Heavenly Flames like before?" The White Serpent shook its head as an answer. Wang Ling seemed dissatisfied so he tried it for himself and as he ignited the Heavenly Flames, it took a lot of time before he managed to form a White Sun the size of a ball.
"So, I have lost the techniques but I gained a pet… I can't do anything about that… but what of the Shroud of Sanctifying Blaze?" Wang Ling tried igniting the flames once more and let flames explode, but to his dismay, no more than a few flickers appeared.
"I have also lost my regenerative skill. This is not good, this means I can't use that skill any longer, can I?" It was then he had a sudden thought, he turned to the serpent and asked, "You are the embodiment of my flames, correct?"
"I am, Father."
"Good, try matching the angelic qi I will send to you and create cloak for me and intensify its heat outwards while keeping the regenerative capabilities in…"
Wang Ling instructed and did what he had planned and sent angelic qi towards the serpent. Which, with a motion cloaked him in mere moments. He brought out a sword and tried cutting his skin.
Shhhkkk.
He cut his wrist and blood flowed out. He was wounded but the wound did not last any longer than five seconds before healing completely.
"This is promising, the healing factor is not as strong as before but its standards would be met once I ignite my bloodline. This is good, serpent, now try and create a ball of flames. Concentrate in a single point and slowly compress its heat in the middle. Yes, just like that."
After seeing the shroud being replicated by the serpent, Wang Ling quickly instructed it to form the white sun. And just like before, its strength was reduced but it was acceptable.
The two skills he had created might have been downplayed a little bit but with a bright idea, Wang Ling thought of something and for a whole night, he made the white serpent follow his instructions down to the last letter and as the sun replaces the moon, everything was completed.
"Suzhen, you can rest now, I'll be practicing something unrelated to you." The White Serpent he had aptly named as Suzhen nodded its head and retracted inside his body as it dove deep into his Spirit Ocean where it began to sleep and recuperate from the arduous training it had to go through with Wang Ling.
The serpent may have unbending loyalty but it too had a soul and mind of its own. It was exhausted from the training it had been through with its father. Although Wang Ling was only warming up to the idea of Suzhen living inside his Spirit Ocean, Wang Ling began to understand more about it in just one night.
"The intensity it carries is something that I can use in combat, and its size correlates with my decision and the amount of qi I want to put into it. Also, its limit is at most an hour that is enough for now." Wang Ling thought as he entered his abode soon after.
He entered it and went into seclusion where he entered his mindscape to find the Hell Wall and new wall opposite of the other one with golden words etched into this brand new wall. And in the brand new golden wall, there were five different layers.
He began meditating between the two walls and as he did, the aura of the two opposite words of wall entered his body and little by little, he began uncovering something he had been suspecting about.
With a thought, he moved his hands and motioned to move the first layer of the golden wall and the single wall of the red Hell Wall. Wang Ling stretched his senses towards the two walls and as he did, he found something truly interesting.
The walls were perfectly matching and intersecting with one another.
"I knew it," he said aloud inside his head.
And against his knowledge, the mysterious grey figure was quietly floating behind him.

Trapped in a game with no rules, and surrounded by cutthroat players eager to kill for a quick windfall, Lily and her ragged band have no choice but to fight their way out, or die in a game that has turned all too real. Hi there! I'm setting off on yet another adventure, come join me :3 Unusually for me, there's only one perspective this time, and it's quite a bit more action-oriented than I usually write. Don't worry, though: everything's still as character-driven as always, and I never get tired of writing dialogue. Just to acknowledge it up front: this story is heavily inspired by EVE Online and the many stories generated by that world. However, since this is a fantasy setting, not sci-fi, don't expect any real parallels. Chapter publish rate for this one will be whenever I write them, as with Epilogue. I don't expect to move as fast here though, since it's not for NaNo. The plan is chapters somewhere in the 4k-5k range, and hopefully frequently. The Last Science takes priority as always though. Special thanks to Reaver and Ace Arriande for pushing me to get this going, and to all my fellow writers whom I've stolen from been inspired by. You're all wonderful people and I love you Quick reminder: Patrons get to read ahead of what's published! Also, try my other works: The Last Science — A Tale of Modern Magic Epilogue — A Post-Fantasy Psychodrama What are you still doing on the synopsis? Get to reading!
