Celestial Peak Chapter 213

"You refuse?" Mao Lan asked in a surprised tone, "Are you a coward? Why won't you accept my challenge? You sounded so sure you were the strongest earlier so why not prove that to me, the one who holds the 1st rank?"
Bai Xue still refuses to open her eyes and look a Mao Lan as it was a 'hassle', she instead yawned before answering lazily, "That is just a banner, what does it prove? Those who believe it will believe it those who don't will not. I don't need to take the strongest on, I merely need to fight the weakest of your three to get a spot."
At that point, Wang Ling chortled silently as he once again flicked Bai Xue on the forehead, "What did I tell you about sleeping? Sleep after this is done, I thought you were awake already."
Ignoring the fuming Mao Lan who had just been ignored and laid to the side for those who were much weaker than her. Bai Xue woke up against her will and slowly got up from Wang Ling's shoulders.
She got up on Wang Ling's head and then stared at Ye Chuan. With a yawn, she turned to him and asked nonchalantly, "You are the 3rd ranked, correct? I would like to challenge you for the 3rd rank and the right to become the representative of the Academy."
Bai Xue stared at Ye Chuan whose face was beginning to interchange the color of green and purple from being too angry. He was being looked down upon by a fox, the feeling of humiliation was beyond what he had expected.
Wang Ling who was silent throughout the whole thing looked around. He noticed a bunch of people was eyeing the stage and the intent to battle was thicker than what it was before the three highest-ranked students went up the stage.
He tugged on Bai Xue's tail and warned her, "Move now and you will have more fights later. We already got enough points so fighting now is unnecessary and a waste of energy. Let's move to the side, I have some things to talk to you about. What rank are you in currently?"

"The 17th rank."
"Alright then… Seniors, please excuse us, we need to speak of something personal. Please carry on with the Festival, we will be stepping up when the other students have their chances."
With an oh, Bai Xue turned her gaze to Ye Chuan once again and bowed her head as she spoke, "I apologize senior student Ye Chuan, I was arrogant and have forgotten that I lack the preparation to face you at the moment. Please, let me retract my challenge… I shall take your silence as your approval… thank you for your understanding."
Here, the full capability of a sly and shameless fox and human combo had been seen.
Wang Ling then turned around and without any hesitation started walking away garnering a multitude of confused feedbacks from the crowd. They could not hear the conversation of the five people on the stage so the only thing they saw was Wang Ling and Bai Xue leaving after a bow had been given.
The two was even saying something to one another as if they were in a walk. This made many even more confused.
Ye Chuan, Wei Hu, and Mao Lan stared at their backs at a loss for word. They were too taken aback by the abrupt actions of the two that they could not speak for a short while.
But as Wang Ling was just about to step out of the stage, Mao Lan regained herself and then called out to them, "Where are you going both of you? You are already on the stage, why not fight and let us finish this once and for all?"
Bai Xue turned and answered with a smile, "We are not worthy of you at the moment, please let the other seniors take you on first. Ling and I are too young to take the first battle out of the hands of the other seniors, please refrain from challenging us, because unlike you we have the rights to reject these challenges."
With that, Wang Ling jumped off the stage leaving Mao Lan who was always calm and collected at a loss for word. Lu Tao and Fu Peng who was watching this was shamelessly laughing at the misfortune of Mao Lan.

The old Thunderlord and the current Thunderlord were disciples and masters indeed. They were laughing too hard at the ever so proud Mao Lan that they managed to incite Mao Lan's rage and made her turn her head towards them.
He motioned a few words with her mouth which says, "I will tell this to Mother…" These words of her managed to make the shameless duo on top of the Red Pillar to shut up.
Lu Tao turned to Fu Peng as he regained his 'dignified' bearing, "If she really tells this to her… you would cover for this master of yours correct?"
"Nope, I can't lie to her else I will really die… just take it like a man, Master." A blatant reply.
With his words, Ye Chuan below began accepting the challenges of the students who were spared by Bai Xue. He was moving quickly so he can fight the damnable fox who was looking down upon him.
Wang Ling and Bai Xue walked up to Yan Renhuo's side. Yan Renhuo stared at Bai Xue and Bai Xue stared at her. The two looked at one another without saying anything.
After a few moments, Yan Renhuo finally broke the ice with a greeting, "Good to meet you again, Sister Xue. Where have you been all this time? I don't think you were with Brother Ling at Heaven's Will Academy. Yue'er was looking for you."
Bai Xue giggled before giving a reply, "I was tempering myself away from him. I was fighting some beasts on the Desolate Forest."
Yan Renhuo nodded her head repeatedly as if to say she understood.
Wang Ling noticed their exchange and only interjected with his own topic after affirming they were done talking.
"Bai Xue, what do you think of Ye Chuan? Do you think you can take him?"
Bai Xue found it quite new that Wang Ling would ask him something so obvious that it gained her attention and irritation at the same time.
She creased her forehead as she replied with a confident Yes, "I can take him, why? Do you doubt my strength? We haven't seen each other for a while and you're already acting like a big shot?"
Wang Ling shook his head, "It is not like that, but I heard Dragons or Phoenixes have the ability to jump three to four levels depending on their ranking. Wang Hong was the 2nd Dragon before he ascended to Dominion Realm, he said he could jump five levels if he gets serious. That kid is rather pessimistic when it comes to comparing himself to me but he's a real warrior when it comes to most cases."
Bai Xue smiled as she answered in a way only the two of them could hear, "This makes things rather difficult then, we can't exactly face them with everything we have, we have our situation after all. This is going to be rather difficult… with that said I'll take Ye Chuan, you can take Wei Hu you can openly use one of your bloodlines after all. Let's get this over with quickly, I have some things to tell you about the Beast Legion Sect and the Regal Lightning Tigers."
Bai Xue's words tug a string on Wang Ling's heart before jumping off his head. But before heading off, she asked one last thing, "Did you not fight some monstrous genius on Heaven's Will Academy? Why are you worried about these guys?"
Wang Ling shrugged his shoulder as he answered, "They were not a part of the Dragons and Phoenixes, the two students who are a part of the Dragons and Phoenixes both denied to join the selection for some reason so my opponents were just the four peaks."
"Is that so?"
She slowly walks towards the stage where the fight between the 4th ranked of the Raging Thunder Board had just finished.
Boom!
A large explosion was heard and a figure flew past Bai Xue. Bai Xue jumped up and stretched her body lazily, looking at Ye Chuan she announced, "Senior, let us have a good fight."
Ye Chuan nodded his head as he added, "I'll tear you apart."
