Celestial Peak Chapter 187

"This is a Saint-rank martial technique found in the tomb of an ancient cultivator. It is a technique attuned to the cultivation of wind and storm. The technique describes its highest level of attainment as having the ability to control the wind and clouds. The bid will start at 300,000 stellar stones!"
"350,000!"
"400,000!"
Wang Ling yawned as he watched the auction right below. The technique below was something subpar and he already knew of the book's content so he found the auction to be boring and uninteresting.
The attraction of the items to his was basically the same attraction he got when dealing with an arrogant young master of some backwater kingdom flexing his family's status onto him. It was tiring.
He had more interest in dealing with the papers he received from Qifu. The papers he had received were reports from Butler Sun about the situation of the family. Splitting his attention towards the auction and into reading the hundreds of files all at the same time was more entertaining than this shit.
Wang Ling yawn after processing the papers. Storing them into a storage ring, Wang Ling destroyed that ring together with its content. The storage ring was old and was easy to destroy.
But if it was a storage ring that could store mountains upon mountains of items and resources that would have been hard. Also, its contents did not have qi in them making its destruction easy.
The storage ring and its content were destroyed and Wang Ling returned his attention to the auction. The information of the realm had been compiled inside his head for him to plan his next move was already happening as he watched.
Two hours passed and the auction was proceeding nicely, Wang Ling was seated on the VIP room yawning. But as the two hours mark passed, the atmosphere began to change and the host Xiaorong smiled proudly as seven carts covered with black curtains was brought up to the stage by seven beautiful girls.
With Xiaorong standing in front of the carts, she smiled, "Ladies and gentlemen, as the auction heats up, I am proud to present the second half of the auction. Dear guest of the VIP rooms who had yet to vote for anything, I truly hope the first seven items of the auction will catch your attention!"
With a voice filled with pride, Xiaorong looked at VIP rooms and then had the lady standing before the cart that is on the farthest most area of her left side take the black curtains off the cart.
A red Long Bow that is etched with flame markings appeared. A powerful aura of a Phoenix burst forth. Those who had low mental resistance heard the cries of a Phoenix and found it hard to breathe.

Those who had mental fortitude found the cry of the Phoenix truly fascinating as the cries was not the only thing they saw. An ethereal image floated above the red longbow and this garnered the attention of almost everyone on the VIP rooms. Faint gasps could be heard.
"This is [Sky Sovereign Bow], crafted using the [Red Skies Wood] from the depths of the Beast Valley where the strongest of spirit beasts dwell. The Red Skies Tree is a mere two-meter tall tree and it can only grow on a particular soil where the blood of a Phoenix had been shed. Having both premier quality of flexibility and hardness, it is a bow that could withstand a blow from a Celestial King.
"This bow like any other bow has no bowstring. It uses the qi of its user to form the bowstring and the arrow. And because it was made in Red Skies Wood, it has the faint characteristics of a Phoenix's sharp and piercing cry and effect that could through almost anything.
"But that is not what makes this bow special. Aside from being crafted with Red Skies Wood, the soul of a true [Red Sovereign Phoenix] had been infused in this bow together with its blood and core. Its red markings are runes that grant its user domination over flames that is below the quality of the flame the Red Sovereign Phoenix Commands. Every shot it has will also bathe in the flames of the Red Sovereign Phoenix turning any of your targets into ash."
Xiaorong had a long introduction on the bow and this had the guests of the VIP rooms mouthwatering at such a godly weapon. A weapon such as this was something archers would want to hold in their hands.
Being an experienced auctioneer, Xiaorong was smiling widely at the reaction of the guests who stayed in the VIP rooms. She waited for a couple of seconds to catch her breath and also have those people on the VIP room start itching to start bidding.
"The Sky Sovereign Bow is a grade-4 artifact and its bidding price would start at 50,000,000 stellar stones!" It did not take long for those at the VIP rooms to start taking the bait that Xiaorong had given them and began bidding for the bow.
"51,000,000! Haha, that bow is sure to be mine."
"Shut up Xu Lin, hearing your bragging after bidding such low numbers makes me want to deny our connection, let me show you how to bid for such an artifact. 55,000,000!"
"You dare speak of how to bid? Let me show you how it is done instead, 70,000,000!"
The bidding for the Sky Sovereign Bow began and the numbers started rising at a dizzying rate. Those on the lower seats was beginning to tumble down as the bid was raised to 150,000,000 stellar stones.

The bidding they were fighting earlier was nothing but cheap change in front of this bid, and this was merely the first item. They were sure that the main attraction of the auction, the last three items would be many times more expensive. By then, their cheap changes would transform into useless pennies.
Xiaorong was celebrating when she hears the bidding price when it reached 150,000,000 stellar stones.
[I can already see my pay.]
"300,000,000 stellar stones!" Someone at the seventh VIP room shouted out loud and the other people of the VIP room quieted down. Such a huge number had just been drop, they could not even react properly.
"Old friend, are you not throwing too much money at the early stages of the auction? Are you sure you want to bid so much? What if you suddenly find something that interests later on?" Someone at the ninth VIP room shouted a question.
The old friend of the seventh VIP room laughed as he answered, "There is no such thing as regret if I can get this bow. I am ready to spend as much needed in order to get this bow. I can feel a connection with it."
It seems like the old man of the seventh VIP room was dead set on getting the bow.
But as he spoke and awed the crowd with his dedication, a call made the crowd freeze in their seats.
"350,000,000 stellar stones." It came from the third VIP room, the place where the First Young Master of the Wang Family was seated.
It was silence and the man on the seventh VIP room found it astounding and surprising that someone else wanted to the bow as much as he was. But as he had already announced, he was dead set on getting the bow. And that will not easily change.
Even if the opposition was the Wang Family. And so, a bidding war began.
"400,000,000 stellar stones!" that was from the seventh VIP room.
"450,000,000 stellar stones!" that was from Wang Ling and that call came out without a pause or the need to think.
The man on the seventh VIP room frowned as he announced, "500,000,000 stellar stones."
"550,000,000!"
The old man laughed but secretly gritted his teeth as he said, "You have a deep pocket, young one but I cannot give up this bow. It might be shameless of me but I believe that you have no use for a bow correct? So why don't you just let this old man get it instead of you spending the Wang Family's funds for things you do not need.
"I should stop mouthing off now, but take my words as an advice from a man who had lived for centuries. I shall bid now, 600,000,000!"
It was shameless but the old man of the seventh VIP room to say such words. But indeed, what he said was true, at least for the ears of other people. It was shameless of him, but he knew that such a reminder would wake up the spendthrift First Young Master.
Xiaorong was about to make the call, but Wang Ling's voice was heard, "700,000,000!"
This time, the increase was doubled and that sudden increase came with a short statement, "The way I spend this money is not something you should concern yourself, dear elder.
"Besides, these few changes is nothing but the allowance I have earned, please do not worry about me making trouble for my family."
The old man of the Seventh VIP room grew silent at Wang Ling's words. Even those below and other guests on the VIP rooms were silent at Wang Ling's statement.
The only thing that rang in the awkward silence was Xiaorong's voice that announced Wang Ling acquiring the Sky Sovereign Bow and the tight slap that ran across the Old Man's face of the Seventh VIP room.
Everyone taught the old man of the seventh VIP room would keep silent now, but he had to ask something, "Young one, do you even know how to use the bow? Why do you even want to have that bow?"
The old man asked.
Wang Ling smiled from inside the third VIP room as he answered, "It will be a gift."
"Oh, a gift for the Lunar Goddess? I heard she had come out. It seems like losing the bow to such a filial son such as you wasn't so bad after all." He was trying to salvage the face he had lost by acting magnanimously.
But then, Wang Ling's statement was heard, "Dear Elder, please do not draw your own conclusion. My mother has her own bow that might even be better than the Sky Sovereign Bow. I will not dare give my mother something that is below her."
Those words alone managed to strike a chord in the heart of the old man but Wang Ling's delighted words just had to give the final blow, "This little bow will be a gift to my dear little sister. She is about to reach Energy Palace stage and I want to gift her something nice."
