Celestial Peak Chapter 185

Wang Ling stayed in a luxurious inn. He found staying in there comfortable.
As he sat on top of the bed, Wang Ling held a crimson vial containing refined blood of devils.
"Fifty-five blood of devils refined to fit inside such a tiny vial. I can feel it even when I am standing here. Why don't you increase the purity of your bloodline? With that amount I doubt won't be enough to elevate it." Bai Xue commented as she sat by the window.
Turning to her, Wang Ling shook his head, "I can't do that just yet. My fun will be ruined if I do that, and I can tell that I need to first elevate my Holy Lord bloodline another rank else it would get devoured."
"So, thinning the wall between the two was not such a good idea after all. But let me ask you this, is your blood essences still intact? Or have it gotten devoured by the two bloodlines already?"
Wang Ling knew what Bai Xue was asking him. His original human bloodline that was in between two of what possibly the most potent and strongest bloodlines he could know.
Even with the adaptability of a Human bloodline, Bai Xue was aware that it would get devoured by one of the two bloodlines sooner or later. And with Wang Ling fully embracing the two paths, not everything was going to be so good.
He must make some sacrifices and in this case, Wang Ling was sacrificing his humanity for the sake of power.
Wang Ling looked over at Bai Xue and shrugged his shoulder as if losing his connection to being a human was nothing but a trifling matter.
"It is not still there acting as the wall of the two bloodlines. But I have to say, this blood essence of mine is rather resilient for not getting devoured. But it should get devoured once I create my third halo and grow another pair of wings."

Wang Ling answered nonchalantly. It was at this time that a knock came from the door.
"First Young Master, it is time. The auction at the Red Devil Action House is about to commence." Qifu's voice was heard outside the room and this opted Wang Lint to stand up and get ready.
Wearing an ordinary-looking yet glamorous white robe, he circulated his angelic qi and laced it with hellish qi in order to appeal to the people of the Devil Domain while still keeping his image as a divine being.
Getting out, Bai Xue hopped on Wang Ling's head before taking out a beast core that was given to her by Wang Ling. The beast core came from high-leveled dominion realm beasts.
It was something of an add-on when he received the bloodlines.
He got out and smiled at Qifu who looked almost unresponsive. Wang Ling then beckoned him to lead the way while he and Bai Xue ate nutritious pills filled with qi.
Qifu led Wang Ling to the streets and then walked for about ten minutes before arriving in front of a large building consisting of multiple floors.
The building was huge and the front sign that it had was eye attracting to the point that it was somewhat hypnotic. The front of the building had a red carpet laid for the VIPs who were about to come.
Wang Ling was one of the VIPs who managed to secure a seat on the second third VIP room of the auction house. Of course this reservation was prepared for him by Butler Sun who had already made the reservation even before the letter informing Wang Ling about the auction reached him.
Wang Ling saw different faces and all of these people were foreign to him. Meaning, they were nameless lowlifes who does not need any immediate attention.

The red carpet gave Wang Ling a beautiful path to tread on. He was at the center of attention for not only his handsomeness and suave attitude but also the humility and he was showing to the crowd.
Coming to an auction as a VIP barefooted was almost something unheard of. After all, most VIPs have their own pride that is deeply rooted to their clans. Though some famous rogue cultivator who does not give a crap about his or her image would do the same as he.
While Wang Ling was led by Qifu, he caught sight of the many people shouting and yelling at him to get his attention. He could also hear the voices of those people who is speaking of the information regarding his achievements when he first appeared.
Wang Ling did not care much about these talks and he merely waved at the ladies swooning over at the sight of his mysterious and overbearing gaze. The sound of a carriage being pulled was heard and a loud roared made Wang Ling feel irritated.
He turned around and saw a White Lion pulling a carriage that looked absolutely grand and pleasing to the eyes. When he turned around, he stared at the eyes of the Lion to make it shut up. At the sight of an angered Wang Ling, the Lion stopped.
The doors of the carriage opened and a handsome youth came out. Pale but smooth looking skin and a mischievous gaze, the youth was an eye-opener for many. Wang Ling and Bai Xue merely sneered at this youth.
The deep feeling of a devilish aura escaped from the carriage doors. A young man wearing all black stepped out and looked around. Though his strength was only at True Saint stage, Wang Ling could see that there were people feeling pressured.
The devilish qi was affecting the surroundings. Wang Ling felt irritated that another presence had arrived and tried to dampen the mood with such horrid and washed out diluted qi from hell. It was am embarrassment really.
So, Wang Ling circulated his angelic qi and a soothing aura escaped his body. Wang Ling's qi counteracted the youth's qi and canceled the majestic presence he commanded. It was instead replaced by Wang Ling's soothing aura.
The youth had obviously taken offense to Wang Ling's actions and turned to him with anger on his eyes. But soon after seeing Wang Ling's face, the youth instead smiled and said.
"So the cowardly Wang's who can only do is snipe from afar sent brain dead their First Young Master. Good to see you Young Master Wang Ling."
Hearing the name of the Wang Family receiving a badmouthing from the youth, Wang Ling's smile became brighter as he answered.
"It is also good to know that the Xie Clan had sent a worm to represent their image. Good to see you, Firs Young Master Xie Hai, the wriggling worm of the Xie Clan."
This was the first time Wang Ling and Xie Hai had a 'proper' conversation and this conversation would become the crux of what is to come.

The Priest of Genes
Meet Seth, acolyte in the Church of Virtue. He’ll be a Priest like his father soon, he just knows it. Sure he didn’t inherit his mother’s preaching power, but he doesn’t mind being the secondary priest at whatever temple he is assigned to. Just as long as he has a library. Meet this genetics textbook. Hmm, that doesn’t belong here. It must have come from somewhere far away, I guess something happened to its owner. I’m sure a studious young man who likes healing could go far with this information, whether he wants to or not. This is my first time really writing anything, so I hope you like it! Please let me know if I make any mistakes; I have a new R&D tech job at a genomics company, so I probably don’t edit as much as some people. I’m shooting for two thousand-ish word chapters released on Sundays, since none of the webnovels I read ever seem to update that day. Underserved Market! Genre is fantasy, possibly progression fantasy. Maybe a tiny bit litRPG if you wait a while and squint really hard, but that’s the most I’m prepared to claim. Hedged my bets on the content warnings, nothing that bad. Cover art from A. W. Gelman

Shift (Ben 10+DCU Fanfiction)
Omnitrix+ DCU, what's not to like? The main character will not be Ben Tennyson, rather someone from our world who gains the Omnitrix Hello! This fanfiction Shift is what I wanted to do for an homage to what I thought were underrated pieces of media, Ben 10 and some DCU characters. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t add context to two of the major works that inspired Shift, Dial, and A Practical Guide to Evil. Dial is another ben 10 fanfiction, however that story takes place in the MCU, and with an adult that is already a grown-up at the beginning of the story. Dial, by my own accounts, is more superficially Like shift, even though the Omnitrix is a central device in both. My protagonist starts out around 18 years old, so is less serious and can build relationships with some of the junior justice league members, and then later on in the story meet the Justice League officially. The tone will be more light-hearted at the beginning of the story as teenagers are known to use sarcasm and jokes at each other’s expense. Furthermore, in Dial, the protagonist has a well-developed knowledge of the MCU which he uses to have knowledge on events and characters, that the character in Shift will not have. While the MC will have some knowledge of people's abilities, lesser-known characters and people's real identities will be not included as much, but the MC of Shift will have some knowledge. APGTE's influence is deeper than Dials'. The epigraphs at the beginning of every chapter are an example of that, a place for light-hearted jokes and worldbuilding that's not pure exposition, but I also want to incorporate narrative stories to Shift (heroes win more than lose, providence, etc) on a lighthearted scale. While the heroes of Shift will have to work to win against villains, the MC of Shift will be allowed limited precognition, through narratives tropes and archetypes as a trade-off of less knowledge of the DCU. For example, a villain a hero faces might monologue, but the MC will not instinctively know how to counter every villain they encounter. I also wanted to bring in more realism than usual superhero stories, ie: the MC cannot just walk and have a meeting with Batman or Superman, he would have to “work his way up” in terms of credibility and whatnot. The Aliens that show up in Shift I tried to make different than the ones in Dial, just to share the love for lesser-known characters. And to make it fairer for the villains of the DCU, the main character will not wantonly use if gain at all an Alien X or a ben 10 form of Kryptonians, just so the characters have to work a little bit for victory. I urge anyone reading to consider checking out both APGTE and Dial as they are both amazing works, and I hope you enjoy them. The beginning of how the MC enters the DCU will not be as important as him actually existing in that universe, so that is why a ton of time is not spent on that part of the story. Chapters will be around 2.5 thousand words and come out around every weekday.
